  • Almost has that super 8 look to it.

  • @NIKONGUY1960 Yes it does have a very vintage super 8 look but with vista vision shallow depth of field as the ground glass frame size is 35mm.

  • does this adapter work on cannon fs200 ?

  • Please find my first video with this product "First Attempt For Film Look" by kreativeworld

  • Hi VidAtlantic. Thanks for the Info.

I bought Canon HFs11, and planning to buy DOF adapter with photographic lens. Which one would you recommend from your products that best suits for taking good shots with HFS11. ***budget matters to me***

I did some research in DOFs. But not sure which one best fits with my cam.

    Please help me.

    Thanks.

  • By far for the look and price the EnCinema 35mm adapter is a great choice for the Canon HF S11, if not the best choice. It is also the smallest and lightest adapter available anywhere.

  • @VidAtlantic

    I bought this product...

  • Never mind I found it. $199

  • DUDE!!! How much was this adaptor? I spent $6,000 on a Letus ultimate DOF for my big DVC Pro HD cams. I need the exact same thing you got for your little cam. What is it called and how much? Please....That is a nice and simple adaptor! Nice.

  • Nice. The radial blur gives a certain effect.

  • It seems you are testing quite a few small HD camcorders, but i dont know which ones are which? At 2.18 which one is it? that one looks the best!

  • This entire video was with the Canon HF100 and the EnCinema adapter using a Canon 50mm f.8 lens.

  • Canon EF 50mm f1.8 this would be the filter mount right?

  • No, this Canon EF 50mm f1.8 is the photographic lens that was mounted to the EnCinema 35 Adapter. 50mm means the field of view. F1.8 means the speed of the lens. The smaller the number the faster light speed and BETTER it is.

  • Aren't EF lenses pointless to use w/ a DOF adapter when you can just use an FD lens and get the same results?

Also, I have a Canon FD 50mm f1.8 and f1.4 but I think the 1.4 looks better. Also, the aperture can't move when I attach it--it's locked open at f1.4 when attached to my DOF.

Finally, what's a good lens for nice close ups and still get good DOF? thanks :)

  • EF lenses are not pointless...I love the feel of the focus ring much much better than FD lenses. The FD to EOS converter can be pricey if you get the proper kind.

You dont need to adjust the aperture when using 35mm adapters...if you stop down the lens then the ground glass becomes visible...the faster the lens the better.

And when using a DOF 35mm adapter, all lenses will give you a nice shallow depth of field.

  • Thanks. Makes sense.

One thing though--I'd like to get closer to some of my subjects but the 50mm lens and 35mm lens I use don't allow me to get focused tight shots...will a 24mm or 20mm be better to get closer up on the subject?

  • does the asapter flip the image over like the M2 one or not and if so, is there something to flip the image back over?

  • Yes it films upside down. You'll need to flip it in post or on a monitor. Thanks for watching!

  • Is that Kenna?

  • No, its 'Hercules and Love Affair' with a singer named Anthony. The song is called "Blind".

  • what kind of adapter size is this were do i buy this please help? i always wanted a good film look for less than 3,000 Where? what is it?

  • Find the Vid-Atlantic website for info on the "EnCinema Adapter". Depth of field is from the adapter and not from the camera...or any video camera for that matter. Its simply not possible with video lenses. All that you'll need is a small camera like the Canon HF100 ($550) with a filter mount of 37mm. The EnCinema Adapter ($220) a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 ($85) and a bit of color grading in post using software like Vegas or Final Cut and your all set. So, you can get that same look for under $900.

  • nice vid and chooooon! what is it? anthony?

  • Thanks for checking it out. Yes, It is Anthony (forgot the last name) singing. It's by 'Hercules and Love Affair' and the track is called "Blind".
