  • Your Ladbroke Grove looks turn me on

  • The crowd gasp at Cocker's masterful control of the bicycle, skillfully avoiding a dog turd outside the corner shop.

  • I remember watching this when it was originally broadcast.

It was brilliant, and it's stood the test of time, perfectly.

  • This song is a fucking masterpiece!!!!)))

  • Take your year in Provence and shove it up your ASS!

  • thank you Pulp for reuniting for us who were too little to attend concerts back in the '90s! ^_^ Exit 2011 - one of the best concerts in my life..

  • it may look to the untrained eye , i am sitting on my arse all day!!! Love it!

Still "stook,", here though,, Love this song.

  • fantastic lyricist

  • DRINKING YOUR BRANDY

  • I remember watching this the first time around on TV and being blown away... pure theatre and Cocker at his best

  • just seen them live @electric picnic. Dear lord are they good!

  • @mydadbrucelee yeah mate, I was there too, flew in from Malta for the festival and I hand picked that festival just to realize a dream which I had deemed impossible.. seeing Pulp live. It was a highlight of my life, too stunning for words

  • I got that last line in one my messenger:I spy for a living and specialize in revenge,i'm taking the things i know will cause you pain hehe.

    Its just so fucking evil.

  • just love him ...

  • Pulp launched an unbelievable sonic and lyrical assault on triteness, and this is one of their masterpieces! Saw them live a few days ago in Athens and they were simply outstanding. I sure hope they will continue and produce some new material, even though Jarvis' farewell comments left that in doubt.

  • The amount of times I've watched this in a row makes me feel a little perverse.. but he is just so hypnotising.

  • @TheKnightsOfCamden i agree, i have sessions where i repeatedly watch this, the performance is masterful and hypnotic and the song is simply incredible, the lyric is a modern shakesperean tradgedy, only bettter ! damn...3rd view on the bounce aleady.....take your year in Provence..........................

  • the anthem of all voyeurs

  • 'The crowd gasps at Cocker's masterful control of the bicycle

Skilfully avoiding the dog turd next to the corner shop'

Jarvis is the greatest lyricist of the past 25 years.

  • Fuck this gets me going every time

  • Nobody fucks with the Jarvis!

  • I will... Come to you ;)

  • Where can I find the studio version?

  • I love this song always play it when I am pissed off at my boyfriend and sing it very loudly so he knows I am pissed at him!!! lol needless to say he hates this song!!! lol

  • i love this song too much

  • I would have loved to see Cocker skillfully avoid the dog turd outside the corner shop.

  • @ashkrou Why?

  • @19twelves

It would have been an amazing sight, for anyone.

  • best track of "Different Class"

    another Pulp's masterpiece

  • I could watch Jarvis forever. He's just so expressive!

  • Goddamn. If they ever do get around to making another Bond movie, get Jarvis Cocker on the theme.

  • brilliant! awesome!! an so on.. on so many levels, just... wow

  • superb

  • Amazing music, how did Pulp go unnoticed by so many? So happy to be one of the ones that did notice, cos they are so fucking cool!

  • This is how music should be, heartfelt and menacing at the same time :D

  • Speechless. Masterpiece. the melody, tonality changes, words, sense, emotions, gesture, atmosphere. Top class.

  • I'm 18 and I've grown up listening to Pulp and Jarvis, and it kills me that people my age don't appreciate music like this. I sent this to one of my best friends, 10 seconds later he tells me it's "boring". It seems that if it’s not loud and shouty, or if you can’t dance to it it’s not worthy of listening to. No appreciation for music with real heart and soul. Such a shame.

  • @MerylTeapot well, it's a hard listening music...if you just listen to it just once, u wont get the meaning of this music, and you wont enjoy it...

  • This is probably the most menacing song I've ever heard. More so than any metal or industrial music.

  • I think this is the greatest ever performance on Later With Jools Holland.

  • i think their best record is separations . who else aggrees ? and the second is different class

  • i think this song speaks mostly to men.even though i get it.I just can't imagine being with someone who's so rich that they dnt understand things.or someone who is so low that they are repulsive.

  • i love pulp iom 15 n they rock

  • Fantastic lyric. A whole new take on Class War!

  • love when these lyrics pop in my head

  • such sexy voice!

  • wow, watched this and fell in love all over again..

  • me too. i'm dedicating a chunk of 2010 celebrating 15th anniversary of different class - in the top 10 greatest albums ever, imo.

  • Sweet decadence.

  • He's strange but great ^^

  • Hmm I really hope my neighbours never catch me O_O!

  • U naughty boy lol!!

  • X_- :D

  • 4:34 Lol Lol Lol

  • Mr Cocker you crack me up

  • God this is the song that makes me wanna get revenge against a grassing neighbour lol

  • Or have sex with them :D

  • Holy shit. Just the bass on this version is amazing by itself, let alone the entire thing as a whole. You just can't hear that bass on the recording like you can here. Great performance.

  • Hard for me to pick a favorite PULP song. Like most music I don't have a particular favorite, however as renditions, and performances go, this is just awsome. Thanks for a great post!!! You and PULP rule !!

  • Stunning!

  • fantastic! saw him in sheffield last year, as long as cunts still rule the world we will need jarvis!!

  • Such a class act - in this one he gives it everything, pure theatre

Nail on the head. The best, most underrated British band ever. The bloke is a genius.

Poetic, target-hitting, topical. John Lennon, you ain't even in the same league! I can identify with every word of his lyrics. Where are you Jarvis?

Mr. Cocker, why do you tease me?

  • Are you deprived???

  • the depth of this song is amazing.

  • My favourite parks are car parks / Grass is something you smoke / Birds are something you shag / Take that 'Years in Provence' / And shove it up your arse

    brilliant

  • That's my favorite line, except for the line "a plaque above the place where I first touched a girl's chest."

  • Absolutely amazing. Best pulp performance ever, fantastic lyrics! You're right xxtaxidermyxx ....brain melting!

  • JARVIS....the most understated underappreciated and underrated composer of modern times his intriquate use of the english language and his ability to use it to paint a twisted picture is unmatchable and unsurpassed by anyone.the van gogh of music..a legend.

  • @longroadoutofeden2 it reminds me of will shakes the way he writes about sex in such a poetic way.

  • Wow! This is amazing performance! Thanks for sharing!

  • Oh yes, this is the best Bond song that never was.

  • I see what you mean, but making it into a Bond song would've killed it I reckon....
