THIS IS HOW YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO CHEER FOR A HOCKEY TEAM
what a load of crap being bandwagon jumpers doesnt make you the best fans your team was nealy leaving town just like the oilers were but now that you both made cup finals appearances the fans will stick around for a few years
Well who pissed in your cornflakes? It wasn't meant to be taken with a heavy heart. I'm just making a point in comparison to other teams that attract 8000 people at most (i.e. St. Louis, Chicago...which, by the way is an original 6 team..bothj teams have the lowest attendance record in the NHL).
If you check Calgary Saddledome stats during our darkest years (pretty much 1993-2003), we still had close to 15,000 capacity (the Saddledome's capacity is 19,789) if not more for every game with Oilers games selling out 100% of the time. Sorry if you got all bent out of shape over my "video description". Cheers.
And, I am not a bandwagon fan. I am a long-time Flames fan (since I was in diapers) and season ticket holder (for almost 10 years) so I think I know what I'm talking about. :)
I went to a lot of hockey games during my trips and i agree that the Saddledome in Calgary is great. But nothing can be compare to the Bell Center in Montreal....
I think it's safe to say that now that Canadian hockey in general is flourishing more than it has in the last 10-15 yrs, you'd find a pretty crazy crowd in any of the six Canadian arenas. Except maybe Vancouver which always looks dead. lol.
well at least we are still in our original building. and the dome is the most unique building compared to the other Hockey arenas out there. and is the most explosive one in noise and hard hits compared to the others.
