I miss Stargate Atlantis. It just seems to me that far more effort went into it than Stargate Universe. The story, the production - and the characters. I care about these characters. It's no good when you don't care whether someone lives or dies.

There was an akward sqwishing sounds and it leaked out of his skirt ( Roman Play.... the Last 3oo or somthing... When McKay was first introduced in SG-1, I hated him! I even hoped his character would die for the berating he gave Sam Carter! But toward the end of SG-1 and through all Atlantis, I have really come to like that big silly nerd!! :)

Naw, SGU is just of a different taste. Some hate it to the core. Some have hated it at first but now love it...some (like myself) gave it a fair chance from the get-go and do not regret one moment of it. It's all in how open minded you are....and even then, it's in how well you adapt to an ever changing franchise. I like it, and that's fine. You seem to hate it, and that's fine too.

That's the problem, I can't really love it or hate it. I just have a feeling of " Meh " about SGU. Universe has almost no external conflict, like the Gou'ald, Ori, Replicators, Wraith, Jenai, etc. It's mostly a group of people trapped aboard an Ancient ship that's essentially a flying, malfunctioning scrap pile.

That's why I really like the show. The old "Big enemy empire has to come down" formula is good, and works within the context of the other two shows (more so in SG-1 than SGA). But it gets repetitive and tiresome after a while. I like the internal conflict too. Not to mention that without some "big bad" to take down, it can really put the focus on the expansive setting they are in...the universe. This is actually the first time I've felt like I was actually seeing them in space.

Uh, yeah, but they could show some living alien civilizations rather than desert, swamp, or snowbound glacier planets with maybe only primitive life forms on SG: Universe. I haven't really watched this season so I don't know if they have or not.

Actually, the have shown two alien species. One that is trying to take Destiny for their own purposes (an enemy if you will) and one that, while not exactly shown in "person" was shown to have made a fully functioning planet and sun to boot, thus laying claim to being far beyond the ancients in advanced tech. Just watch the episodes "Divided" and "Faith"

I suggest "Divided" or "Faith"....in your case....go with "Divided" first. It has the dual effect of actually coming first time line wise, and actually acts as a small setup for "Faith"....just a thought.
