Ufff!!! This is THE Nurburgring, this the S2000 protoptype in 1999 and it's eating the tarmac for breakfast. Watched video twice back 2 back (1/2 hour) and not a 3rd time because I was already late for work. Good thing my boss is a cool man. I'll never let go of my MY07, never.

driven the ap1 and ap2 there is no comparison the ap1 is the one to have 9k redline, its the legend and will be going up in value from here, glad i have one 1st year. even now if you went and bought one for 20k used 2000-2003 youd be wondering how you are allowed to own it for so little, driving it feels like you are in a real race car or a 100k plus ferarri or lambo no other car comes close to its feel except something like that, its an exotic at thrift prices

In fact, most have the education to recognize that it has a higher engendering/build quality than what they drive, and these are people with European performance sedans.

I am on my second S2000. My first was a 2000 and I loved that car. I sold it and missed it everyday since the day I sold it. I have a 2004 now and I WILL NEVER sell this car! They are amazing little cars, I love it. I am a car nut and the S2000 is the FUNNEST car I have ever owned. GO BUY ONE!

I think Honda is focussed on technology 100% now, f*** function they say. Well function as a daily driver, but like the rest of the car industry.. Honda's just tryin to get sales (Fit, Civic, Crv, etc) . Im sure a replacement s2000 will be here in 2015-16 if the economy is better by then.

So sad how Honda doesn't make fun cars anymore :( They went from an engineering firm, to plain ol' marketing. Honda has nothing fun or exciting, the Civic Si is slow, and the CR-Z is an abomination when it comes to performance in both fuel mileage, and speed! WHY HONDA WHY!!!

@KarlowBOI I used to hit the rev limiter when I went from an 02 to an 07. I learned to shift by sound on the 02 but when I got the 07, I had to re-learn the shift points.

S2000 owner here. This was made when the S2000 just came out in 1999 as a model year 2000. Honda has since stopped production as of 2009. A car for the purists. A light weight, 2 Seat, rear wheel drive convertible that only came in a 6 speed manual transmission. Great track car and very reliable. Honda nailed it right from the start.

@wineboy1 Many people are quick to write off Hondas as cheap and under-engineered but they don't realize that a base Civic, Accord, Odyssey etc. is perfect for it's intended uses and when they (Honda) want to make a fast car they make epic ones.
