I remember when I first heard Wayne had passed away. I remember being shocked. He had been Mickey Mouse since my mom was 7 years old. And I remember thinking, "He'll definitely be missed." I was just getting ready to graduate high school at the time of his passing, so in a way, I grew up listening to Wayne's Mickey. Bret Iwan isn't doing a bad job at all, but he's no Wayne. May Wayne R.I.P. It's been two years now. I hope he's up there talking to Walt and Jimmy about how they did the voice.

Wayne Allwine sounded a LOT like Walt Disney himself doing the voice. And while Jimmy McDinald did the voice theatrically from the 40s to the 70s, Walt made a comeback to voice Mickey on the ABC-TV Mickey Mouse Club from 1955 to 1959, so all of us in the first generation of TV Mousketeers have a basis for comparison--a comparison that speaks really well for Wayne, He'll be missed, just like the man who created the role...

@BasilSherlockson No. I did not contact any of the artists whose work was in this video. I honestly didn't feel I needed to as I was only trying to generate interest in their work. The entire reason those images are in this video was to showcase the fan reaction to Wayne's passing and to give those artists another venue to be seen. When this video was in production we were able to find these images through Google search and figured it would be that easy for the audience to find them.

Even though Disney has found a new voice for Mickey,(Bret Iwan)

I think I'll always think of Wayne when I see or hear Mickey. I still mourn over his passing. I still cry when seeing a nice tribute(such as this) Though I never new him, or who he REALLY was (except for maybe his first name) until his passing. I'll still miss Wayne. I can hope Bret Iwan can still continue Walt's, Jimmy's, and Wayne's legacy.

To be honest I agree with you, that magical charm that wayne allwine gave to the character of mickey mouse should never be recaptured. Not only was he a great voice actor, but a disney legend as well.

I never really knew who did mickey's voice. I always thought it was a wonderful voice and it had joy into it and it suited mickey mouse. Thank you for the great years Wayne Alwine we will miss surely miss you. <3

I've not heard about the families of celebrities talking to people who made tributes, but I wouldn't be 100% surprised if they saw these ^^

If I were a celebrity's relative, I'd be curious to see how fans tribute him/her, though I probably wouldn't announce myself publicly ^^;
