Guys, if you can't kill these two beasts, and you don't mind cheating, here's a solution: as soon as the fight begins, draw your weapons until you target one centaur. Then quickly run toward the water, jump in and quickly swim down into the tunnel with the switch. Get out from the water near the switch, and wait for the first centaur to commit suicide. Then you need to deal with only one centaur, and you'll also find a shield that the first centaur left behind. Good luck!

Yes, it really works, at least on the PC version of the game. Few pieces of advice though: you need to have dozens of medipacks to heal Lara while swimming towards the switch cave. Once you get there, all you need to do is to wait... and wait... and wait for at least 15 minutes for a centaur to commit suicide. It really works, try it!

ok i'm about to ask you one little favor....i'm stuck in the part with the vicalamba city i guess at the begining when you kill the big bear at the waterfall and the 2 wolves than you have to push 2 wood things to open a door big one you have to enter 2 ways and you reach top well i did this but when i go to the left one i climb the walls and when to jump there where the stairs r she won't grab what could i do? do i have a game problem or...she just won't pls pls pls thx

ok, you have a little bug in your game. Possible solutions: reduce your screen resolution in Options > Display Mode, to 800x600. And also, turn off Fullscreen Effects, Fullscreen Antialiasing, Depth of Field (Options > Display). That should help Lara grab the edge of stairs. Then try to grab it. Good Luck! Let me know if you succeeded.

I cant face it, because mine anniversary is on pc, and I havent any gamepad.... how you can use mouse and arrows and Q E H G and SHIFT button with only two hands??? I need 4 hands!!

I see this game as all dexterity puzzle and not much of an intellectual puzzle but its also glitched for Mac OS. I can freeze the Centaurs forever or I can freeze Laura forever and the Centaurs run around her. Also, it appears she can't do the adrenaline dodge on this level. From now on I don't pay more than $10 for a Mac game because of unpredictable glitches which store and software maker say nothing about. My only choice is to download the save file to try to go to next level.

Well, I tell you. After you beat the game, get all the outfits and what not... not much left. I mean, who wants infinite ammo when you've already got all the outfits? What you gonna do? Play the game over after you already beat it? I think they should have had an unlockable mystery level where you have a whole seperate adventure that ties into the game. Like one last HUGE level, you know? But, only unlock if you get all the time trials. That would have inspired people more to keep playing.

I've been playing video games for more than 20 years but i've never played a game with worst combat controls than this one.Even AoD had better controls than this sorry excuse of a game.

This fight in particular was the defining moment that made me put the game back on the shelf and never bother again.

I bought the Mac version. This level is glitched. The Centaurs freeze up and sometimes the entire scene freezes. The shield floats above the ground and is impossible to pick up. I have the right system for the game. I have a Mac Intel G5 that I bought 6 months ago brand new. Something is rotten. I suspect the game makers never bothered to test the game on my system or they did and released it anyway and the stores just go ahead and sell it without telling the customers that it's glitched.

I heard this was not the most difficult in the game either. I'm looking forward to the final battles after the centaurs. I'm in Egypt. Man, I bet this is going to be the greatest moment in my life when I finish this game. I'm going to record the ending. LOL

This is the level that made me take this game back to the store. It's not that it's hard, it's that you have to hold down six buttons just to make Lara shoot her guns. I liked the old one better.

tgirl157a, don't feel bad. I've beaten some mean games in the over 20 years of computer game play, and I am stuck at this exact spot. I know exactly what you mean. I've beaten the entire Baldur's Gate series, Neverwinter Nights, Neverwinter Nights 2, the early King's Quest series with the difficult puzzles, and this one has me stuck. I am totally miserable. I do exactly what it says in the walk through - even got the centaur's shield to turn, and the thing didn't come off after grappled!!!?

at the beginning i must say it isn't that difficult, if you get the trick!!! a good walkthrough is stella tomb raider!! i'll try to explain you how you must defeat them: when they are angry you must use the adrenaline dodge, for the ps2 is that L1 and otherwise is how you aim to something. if the jump was good he must offer you his shield, you must use that when they send a green light!! if i were you i shall look on stella because they have tips and help for you good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

ashleybond23, you're not alone. Trust me. I even wrote Feral Interactive to tell them they've screwed up a great series of games by making it too difficult. I have been two days trying to pass this part. I cannot. I have never seen something so difficult. How can a little kid - I am 37 - even accomplish this task? Let's say 13? 14? I don't see it. I really don't. They'd have to cheat or something.  It's sad. I love this game, but it's too difficult to finish.

ashleybond23, don't give up! I killed the two centaurs, and now I'm in Egypt. Just do "adrenaline dodge," and you should have it. It's one of the most difficult bosses ever for me in over 20 years of gaming, but it is NOT impossible. Trust me. Don't give up! When I destroyed the centaurs, I was like "Yeahhh! Take that!!!" Awesome feeling! :) Feel like I climbed Mt. Everest and lived to tell about it. lol
