Many thanks! This was one of four I did in the studio recently. Not sure which part of the UK your uni is, but if you're anywhere near London the guy I used is well worth it - because he'll produce you plus add all the additional instrumentation. So if you wanted to do a demo he'd be a good place to start.
lol, VERY flattering that anybody'd think i should/could do a demo, but the vids i've uploaded are pretty much my first forrays into half-decent songwriting, i'm currently highly dubious that i can equal seasons or no particular insight, heh.. but like i say, wow, thanks :)
Pearl Jam - that's a new one. Comparisons so far have been Joy Division, the Wedding Present, Sugar and Bob Mould. But even though I'm not a Pearl Jam fan I'll take it as a compliment. Cheers!
This is my favourite I think, more closely to my tastes than the others! I rellay like the neil strumming feel and the chorus is beautiful! Amazingly well done!
Cheers beirouth - very kind of you. It's pretty much the same chords all the way through played in slightly different positions with a few variations, but as a result the chorus sounds quite different, cos I play some sort of Em 7/G thingy up at the 14th and 15th frets.
Beirouth you've gone. Why have YouTube deleted you? Their and our loss but I hope you come back in some form because I liked watching your stuff as that Atlantic breeze blew in over the Azores. YouTube should be ashamed!
Cheers Bonzos. I think that tune of yours is an A-side - I just need to work out how to play it. I'm going to try to get the gigs going and see if we can sell some CDs at them - I think I'd need to sell 100 or so EPs to cover the cost of the studio so far and release stuff for the next stage.
Cheers Gil for the lovely comment. Much appreciated. The producer wasn't familiar with Neil Young so I had to tap out the beat I wanted, which is pretty close to Out On The Weekend I think. But I tried hard to sing with an English rather than cod north American accent - ie in my natural voice.
Many thanks again Jon. I'm glad someone agrees - my favourite too of the produced ones. I like the story (fictional!). Imagine a last dance with an old girlfriend (or boyfriend) and there you are ...
Great voice! Yeah, and that certain craazy equine sound...Love your sound my friend!

Yet another great song. I agree about the guitar on it...I love it's treble twang. Also, the vocal melody is nice.
I can hear the Neil Young influence in the guitar changes during the chorus. Very cool.
Looking forward to your record coming out one day soon. :)

The studio mix has added a good depth to the sound without losing the acoustic feel. Another gem.
