I'm a real dj and was skeptical but I think the appeal of this is as a party game like GH. Anybody can use a game controller and have a blast with these types of games and that's the point in my opinion. Not everyone can actually play an instrument or work the decks and most people can't afford the equipment to commit to being a serious musician or dj. If I'm working a party, give me the old fashioned 1200's and a Numark. If I'm at a party, set up Dj Hero or GH and let everyone have some fun.

it may have sold alot but modern warfare 2 wasn't as good as it should have been. The multiplayer is exactly the same as the first with some different perks. and the singleplayer may amaze you the first time you play but gets old.

Ive got this game, and it is fantastic! Thats if u like the gh series. But even if u dont give it a go, u may! Alot of fun to play, feeling like a real dj, but not having to practice and think about it. Its a game, and games r for fun and enjoyment! Nothing else, like some people seem to think. ??? Mongs!

the only difference is the crossfade slider and effects. Both require scratching, both require sampling buttons. The screen game interface is the same. And if you think the company isn't just ripping off arcade games, i suggest you look at drum mania and guitar freaks.

I know what bemani games are, and I honestly think that a western release for any of those games besides DDR would have just flopped here. Look what happened to Beatmania for PS2. :/ Harmonix did a splendid job borrowing these ideas and rearing it towards a western market. Oh! And konami DOES receive some royalties from all this.

coming from a dj personally it does not lack any of the sequences that you would find on any other turntable mixer or any other dj equiptment that you would use. its alot easier then the real thing, but definitely great to learn on , i recommend any up coming dj to buy this product.

I understand but that is not accurate to a real dj setup. Crossfader is mainly used either to blend in a song on top of the other, or to scratch, not necessarily to select which side is playing. I understand it works for the game, however it is limiting that way. I guess this game only focuses on scratching, but does not make you beat match or mix like a real dj? I felt the controller in person, mixer feels really plastic and cheap.

I've played both games and the game play mechanics between the two are completely different.

The Beatmania series is basically Dance Dance Revolution for your hands. While DJ Hero, comes closes to simulating "Turntableism". Crossfading between tracks & scratching.
