Presidents do have to say things on the fly sometimes, but Obama cannot say one simple thing without reading it. It's been a news story before because it is unusual to use the teleprompter so frequently. Ronald Reagan was known as the great communicator. They wouldn't have said that if he used a teleprompter for EVERY function.

CNN had arch-conservative Robert Novak for nearly 3 decades and has Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs, Glen Beck etc, the later of whom seldom has any moderates nor liberals on as guests, & when he does, its usually to berate. As Terry noted, Fox hires Oliver North, Karl Rove, Shawn Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Sheppard Smith, Michelle Malkin, Laura Engraham, Ann Coulter, Brit Hume, E.D. Hill, etc. Who are their counterparts on CNN? Fox's "Fair and Balanced" is the lie of the century, repeated over & over.

Dallas Googled -"Boycott Fox" advertisers - & got over 32,000 hits. If even 2 people from each site are doing so, Fox advertisers are getting screwed by Fox big time. To be more "fair & balanced" than Fox has ever been, I typed in "Boycott CNN" & got about 5,000 hits. Fox has more than 6 times the Boycotts for good reasons - Lies & propaganda.

drmgiver, you're the one who keeps whining about those few dollars you pay in SS taxes while Bush spends $15,000 per family on borrowed money from the Chinese on the Iraq war that you support. Most of us realize that most people in the Middle East don't want us on their property, which is why a "holy war" was issued against us in the first place. Another lie, drmgiver, no one said it was "bankrupt as of 2040" but quite the opposite - that our leadership has solved much greater financial problems in a fraction of the 32 years they have to solve SS, so not only do you lie, you report exactly the opposite of what is stated - kind of like Bill O'Reilly when he stated he never molested Andrea Mackris and said he would "fight her to the end". Stop borrowing money from it is one good solution. Increase the taxes that millionaires pay into it by 1% would be another. I know you're against taxes and big government, but we the people, are the government, and most of us don't want to see homeless people, elderly dying because they can't pay their heating bills, and others who have been victims of UN"planned" disasters, unforseen health problems and thus of our partially-failed health care system.

Also, once Bush stops borrowing from SS to pay for his pet projects, it will be back on recovery beyond 2040, and as everyone keeps saying and you can't seem to grasp: once we have some intelligent leadership again, the Republicans and Democrats have more than 30 years to resolve the "problem" & bigger problems have resolved in a fraction of that time. After crediting the trust fund with the proper amount in IOU's, (BORROWING), i.E., treasury bonds, the Republican leadership spent EXTRA SS taxes in 2003 mostly to finance Iraq war. Before that, the SS had $1.22 trillion. During 2003, the Treasury received $544 billion in SS taxes & paid out $406 billion in SS benefits. SS had $138 billion SURPLUS Treasury bonds, which Bush promptly spent-but FUTURE government has to REPAY-that's called "borrowing" by any economist.

The Mayor of Orleans begged for Bush's help on national TV. News reels were filled with thousands of stranded people begging for help & holding up signs pleading for mercy during and after Katrina. More to the point, Bush PROMISED to restore New Orleans & after many years New Orleans residents are still pleading for that promise that never came.

Bush "PROMISED" to get New Orleans "back on its feet" YEARS AGO - his presidency is almost over, and based on the economic evidence from our own Treasury Department Bush and his loyal Fox "dittoheads" are more interested in handing their friends at Haliburton and Blackwater $42 billion per day, while our troops, including my nephew, are complaining they don't have enough body armor even NOW. Many Iraqi veterans are AGAINST this war.
