@strontvinger2001 Bowe ist very strong if you do the same mistake as Holyfield did. Standing toe-to-toe! Guys like Lewis or Klitschko jab that kind of fighter out from the outside and demoralize them.

Well look at who Lewis has taken punches off Lewis has been in tough brawls and come out fine look at the Ray Mercer fight of course Lewis would have won even if on points why did Rowe give up his belt if he could win and got beaten in the amatuers.

@403766 bowe givin up his belt was not cos he was scared of lewis, but bcos the negotiations were bad, and bowe's promoter fell out with the wbc and they made an effort to try and make the sanctionin body look bad by throwing away the belt in the bin. they tried to discredit the wbc, who had treated bowe and his camp unfairly. while i think lewis would win. it would be a close and tough fight. and bowe does have a better chin then lewis by far.

Rasham lol. lewis beat bowe in amateurs yes, but amateurs is amateurs and pro is pro. Both are great fighters, one used his potential to the full while the other did not

Bro there defo is a lucky punch, hence the reason Lewis rematched him straight away and whooped him bad winning all 3 rounds then KOing him in 4. Rasham knew it was a fluke and never asked for a rematch himself because he knew Lewis was the better boxer.
Come on, if Bowe hadn't given up him WBC belt and be nicknamed chicken bowe rather than face lewis then I wouldn't think he would loose.
But yeah I agree Bowe should have had about 10 more career definng fights.

@403766 bowe gave up his belt for different reasons which i explained , in fact it wasnt even his idea to give it up. lucky punches dont happen. rahman threw the right punch at the right time. in their second time he did not. luck is a mask of circumstances and timing. timing = acting at the decisive moment. cicrumstance= what is laid out in front of you (ie lewis making a mistake) lewis did not make any mistakes that rahman capitalised on in their 2nd fight

captainkayos1, Holyfield NEVER beat Lewis, he actually lost twice. Mercer fight, 96-95, clsoe but Lewis WON, watch it carefully and several times. Rahman & MacCall fights, Lewis did not take them seriously, and he perfectly revenged afterwards.

I think Bowe is overrated, in his prime he ducked most top fighters. Yes he's never been koncked out, but he never fought any his contemporary hard punchers in his days.

The second MacCall fight doesn't count as as "revenged", it looked more like MacCall having a breakdown in the ring. And the second Holy fight Lewis lost in my opinion.

Lewis won both Holyfield fights, what I see is Holyfiled receives less hit than first fight. Second McCall fight, from beginning to end, Lennox led three score cards, but it was not as perfect as he did on Rahman.

With regards to Lewis, sure he was a great fighter, no ones saying he wasnt but he was dropped in style by McCall and Rahman, he was clearly beaten in the second Holyfield bout even though he got the decision and Ray
Mercer out boxed and out punched him in my opinion. Mike Tyson in his prime would have taken Lewis out in less than 5 rounds. Lewis was a great but flawed fighter like all boxers.

no man, this is Prime Bowe, he's 32-0. Lennox is like 4-0 at this time, cuz he was hiding in the amatures in complete fear of Tyson. Bowe faded fast, these bouts took alot out of him. Holyfield worked his ass off and fought Tyson when he was still a beast, but Lennox waits till 1990 to go pro, because he knows in the long run he can avoid Tyson for at least 10 years. Now you can stop talkin shit about Bowe every tribute, watch the fights, you'll be impressed.

You are wrong, first, Lennox turned to pro in 1989 not 1990s. Second, after this holyfied fight, fucking Bowe 32-0, while Lennox 22-0. Third, Tyson paid Lennox to avoid him in 1996, Holyfied fought Bowe in 1995 rather than facing Lennox, as for Bowe, he at least ducked Lennox for 4 times in whole career. Lewis-Holyfield 1999 and Lewis-Tyson 2002, why came so late, Holyfield and Tyson are to be blamed, not Lennox. Fourht, fucking Bowe always ducked punchers who can beat him up, he was a coward.

Lennox had an ok career, but there's still 1 thing that places him below alot of HW's. He never was the first to beat anyone. If Lennox fought Bowe the night of the first Holyfield bout he would of been Toast. He had speed, accuracy, intimidating size and the power of Foreman. In his early years Lennox had speed, but he had a glass jaw... Just because he made Oliver Mccall cry out of frustration the second fight, doesn't mean he wasn't knocked out the first fight.

Golota 28-2, and actually the two losses to Bowe were due to low blows. If Lennox fought Bowe on Nov 13th, 1992. You cannot affirmly said Lennox would lose, Bowe's infights once met with a great outside fighter who has better power, skills, speed, and in the same size, fucking Bowe would be 'washed' totally. Lennox and Evander are different in style. Glass jaw, Bowe's jaw never been tested buy most HW hard punchers.

good point...also all the big names Lennox beat, he beat on the downside of their careers..Tyson, Holyfield, Morrison...none were in their primes when they lost to Lewis...everyone knows what a prime Tyson would have done to him and his glass chin
