VF is very slow for a fighting game. Though the energy, and damage per hit are really high. the fights can be even slower depending on the characters selected, and skill level of the player
wel, Anna is a clone character of Anna since tekken 2 i gues, but now they are totaly different... Kuma and Panda is just the same fighter with differet skins...
@nights18 Nina and Anna don't have the same moves. They share like 10 soley because they're sister styles. The other 100+ moves are different. The only clones are the bears and the capos.
I practiced with Aoi today,some of her moves are OK to do but some of her moves are really hard. She's got a lot a lot a lot of good throws and escapes not just speed alone.I'll practice more with Aoi.
Very true. I just sucked=( I played with Aoi because she's supposed to counter all moves, and Shun-di for his entertaining drunken-fist style. I just don't find the damage effects of countering worthy for it's risk-Is it a high, mid, low or going to be g-cancelled. If it's not practical to do a counter move, why not just block? And if players play like that, then the countering system is somewhat not being useful...But nevertheless, VF series somehow gives a "real" feeling.
And because I always do that (blocking at almost all instances of contact), I often fall into a throw=(, Perhaps I'm a joke but I actually enjoy guessing the throw to make an escape. Somehow to me, it seems easier to pull off than countering a move! LOL=)
Actually, I don't like the counter system in VF5. Countering a move is SO difficult. You need to guess whether its a mid, high or a low, and get the timing perfect. The worst of all, is that the damages for countering a move are so little- Blocking would be almost always better as compared to countering. Its too difficult a game for button mashers. That's why no-brainer games like Dynasty Warriors sells.
hey tekken has countering system, so does soul claibur, even street fighter third strike or (reversal). conutering is what separates amateurs from intermediates though I'll admit it is hard to counter in VF.
I love Soul Calibur but I've found it's quite shallow, no counters like in DOA or this. I think DOA is the best fighting game I've played as the counters are quite simple to use... but this looks better and after playing the demo I'd have to say it is.
i think tekken is actually boring ... virtua fighter dead or alive and soul calibur all beat it. The only thing what sucks on vf is it lacks subtitles yet again! this is the 5th time they havnt added fucking subtitles for the chinese and japanese fighters ><

not a big fan of 3d fighters but if i had to choose one and stick with it it'd be this or tekken. tekken 5 was a big disappointment to me so if tekken 6 ends up sucking i'll probably just move to VF. I'd have to say virtua fighter tekken and soul calibur are currently the best fighting games because DOA is a scrub game because of the counter system.
Excellent fight. Fight against two reversal attack character so both fighters were very careful with attacks, not doing mindless combos that will get caught by reversals and make it quick fight. Very high level fight.

if you look at the home of fighting games japan you will find that virtua fighter is by far the most popular fighting game in the arcades and home vf has more depth than any other I know I have tekken and doa.
IMO,I think Tekken/DoA are button mashers do to the amount of moves that can come off of one or two button,hence the reason why vets hardly get prefects against unfamliar techniques such as that.VF requires precise control on each and every move,hence the reason for less button options.You button mash in VF,youll get the same move over and over.And who ever said Tekken is balanced,please...
Tekken 5 DR is very balanced. Yes, there are good and bad matchups for everyone, but in the end any character can beat any character.
Tekken 5.0 was nice and glitchy, broken, and unbalanced.
There is no way Tekken is a button masher. Scrubby button mashing players may get a few lucky wins off of the less experienced who are still rather new, but that's as far as they'll get.
And btw, higher tier Tekken players perfect button mashers with their eyes closed all the time.
DoA, VF and Tekken are all good fighting games. Most of you are just being fanboys. The topics most of you are arguing about shows that you have barely explored any of these fighting games in depth. Tekken is in my opinion the most balanced but I still love and play DoA and VF.

Well duh! I mean you have the All Range Movement that was inmplied into Virtua Fighter 4 and the evade concept was added on from Virtua Fighter 3. You have to use basic stragety and good offense as well as defense to win at Virtua Fighter.

sales and scores say nothing about the quality of a game, they only say something about the popularity.
Also, Doa´s Fighting styles aren't the smallest bit unrealistic, they're amazingly realistic. You can do every move in-game (except the Ninja beams and Tengus flying moves), in real-life.

DOA is the best!(In my opinion) Its counter system is incomparable! I Love DOA, VF, and Soul/Edge(Of Soul Caliburs' But Tekken is not one of my favorites.(Its okay.)With its out of date graphics and stale run-of the-mill gameplay.
