The secret of landing a warbird, especially a heavy warbird is always down to speeed. Far too many folks try to land them far too slow, usually so that they don't damage the retracts. The simple way to successive good landings of a heavy warbird is to leave the flaps up, drop the undercarridge down and then proceed to execute a reasonably slow low pass over the strip, if all looks good then reduce the power and convert to a landing or increase the power and go around again for another try.
is this the Yellow aircraft P-40?It looks it due to how the landing gear moves up and down so easily.I just received mine and was skeptical about the gear but it looks to work fine in this video.Nice flying!
I've noticed that P-40s always want to nose over on landing.I've even seen Kermit Weeks taking off in one that tried to nose over.I guess it's due to a shorter fuz than most planes and as long as your prepaired for it its more controllable.Never the less,I plan to build a Yellow Aircraft P-40 in the near future when time and money permit.Still one of the most beautiful fighters ever designed!
The music is Nino Rota's theme music to the Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 film of Romeo and Juliet. This was commonly used by Simon Bates on the radio many years ago when he read out the 'Our Tune' feature each day.

This music was the theme from some TV show in the 70s 80s...a soap opera maybe? If that helps.

Have you ever landed the plane without flaps? What's the secret to landing a warbird?
gmccord1970 1 year ago
P40 is powered by a Zenoah G45 petrol engine. I never get fed up of flying nice stable warbirds.
tatungo1 1 year ago
Could you tell us what engine you used, it sounds very smooth. And do you still enjoy it?
