@greekooo3 Have you tried iRacing/L4SS2/rFactor(with good mods and RealFeal), or NetKart Pro? Those are what I'd call sims, not need4speed. Give one of the better rFactor mods a try. Real race teams used specialized versions of rFactor for training, so I imagine if the mod is well made enough, it should be quite realistic, but rFactor needs tweaking(like removing FFB special effects w/RealFeal, etc), which many aren't up for the effort required to get great results. Good luck.
Funny how they used controllers to "test" for a supposed realistic racing game. They could spring for real cars in the hands of ametuers, but not some g25 wheels? Also the fact that shift has no pits, or races long enough to pit....

Hahahah this video is so wrong, the car they raced in Need for Speed Shift is a 2010 Shelby GT500 and the real cars they raced are 2010 Mustang GT's. Both of these cars are completely different, one due the fact the GT500 has got a better suspension than the GT and also the GT500 has got a Supercharger under the hood putting it at 540 hp to the GT's 315 hp. All in all they should have gotten their facts right before they made this video.
This is the worst fucking editing for a video I've ever seen. Why slap together half second cuts of everything all together? Not even once could I see how these guys actually drove. Why not have at least 10 seconds of continuous footage for EACH driver (in video game and in life), so we could at least see something of importance. All I see is fucking switches every .3 seconds between them driving in the real world, them driving in NFS, their faces, or their controllers.
Maybe I'm exaggerating how fast the clip shifts between different clips, but honestly, this is the most unsatisfying video I've seen in a while. The guy who edited this needs to find a new job.
This is a typical ranting comment, but I can't help thinking "this is sad". People who've worked hard for equipment and raced since the very first sims came out barely get chances like this. I mean, look at them during their nfs hotlaps. Trying to capture the supposed "intensity" of wiggling your thumbs. I remember this italian guy who earned a real F3 ride. And after some training the dude was like .3 of a sec within the pace of regulars. So you'd at least assume they'd use wheels.
They are playing with controllers and assists, it makes no sense. This is really crap. They are crappy drivers, you can see it on the big time differences between them. Who selected these nerds?

It might support 3 pedals and H-pattern shifter but the physics engine just isn't comparable with proper sims.
I've heard that Forza Motorsport 2 or 3 or whatever is a bit better and that SimBin's "Race Pro" (XBox 360) is much more sim-like, but real simulation happens on PC. (rFactor, Race 07, etc.)
Either there just isn't a big enough market for realistic sims to make a console release profitable or consoles just lack the raw computing power for this kind of thing.
I hate this type of nonsense, fake marketing crap companies throw at gullible, braindead, customers. Try being honest for a change and don't treat people like dumbasses with cheap, fake entertainment.

This is a typical ranting comment, but I can't help thinking "this is sad". People who've worked hard for equipment and raced since the very first sims came out barely get chances like this. I mean, look at them during their nfs hotlaps. Trying to capture the supposed "intensity" of wiggling your thumbs. I remember this italian guy who earned a real F3 ride. And after some training the dude was like .3 of a sec within the pace of regulars. So you'd at least assume they'd use wheels.

@Zolus84 yeah but you can see that the best in the game was the best on the real track with the real car so it means that you can get a little bit of skill with games obviously not total but yes a bit and plus it was their first time driving that car in the real circuit

They try to make people believe that NFS Shift is a realistic racing sim.

It might support 3 pedals and H-pattern shifter but the physics engine just isn't comparable with proper sims.
I've heard that Forza Motorsport 2 or 3 or whatever is a bit better and that SimBin's "Race Pro" (XBox 360) is much more sim-like, but real simulation happens on PC. (rFactor, Race 07, etc.)
Either there just isn't a big enough market for realistic sims to make a console release profitable or consoles just lack the raw computing power for this kind of thing.

They should have did this with Forza Motorsports 3. A simulation game, not arcade style. Besides, in game, they didn't hold back and just rammed all the walls. They didn't drive as they would in real life.
