the Roland Juno Di is my retirement gift to myself (and enjoy playing) and to keep my memory sharp. From time to time, I will visit your channel to pick up new stuff and add more flavor to my KB playing... as my son jokes ... as elevator music (its played in the elevators).. I want to play mostly 60s and 70s classic rock music (my era) and relive my youth... thanks........ ed
Question: I know there is a 'favorites' function, however, are you able to program a series of patches and change (run through) them with a pedal with this keyboard by chance?
I tried using my Peavey Valve King, but the tube tone didn't go too well with the synth
I actually don't even have a synth amp, I plug some over ear headphones in cause I just play in my room and it sounds better than an amp for the setting
@coketherealthing The M-50. Better sound quality, better selection of tones, more advanced features, the touch screen makes it extremely easy to edit tones, effects and parameters without having to use the editor. It's pretty much the M3 without built-in KARMA and ribbon controller and in a more portable package. The Juno Gi has some advantages too, like the on-board multi-track recorder, but the sound quality isn't quite as good, and the internal features are less. I happen to own both.

i have my juno di... newly bought by my dad... my problem is... wen im in my gig.. playing string for my intro den imediately change my patch into piano... the string cuts his sound imediately when i press the piano category... even i step on my hold pedal... huhuhu how is this??? plz help me...
@troydaby I think pro keyboardists (esp. in prog rock) get around this by usually have more than one keyboard on stage. While I think it's more on playing brand/unit-specific voices, it helps in getting around that problem too. :)
so is this better than the microkorg when it comes to techno and trance stuff??? I have a microkorg and im not sure if i should sell it and get this juno di ?
some MK owners i've talked to have admitted that at times they regret the purchase because of it being a little more simple than the Juno
i would save up and get a Di in addition to the MK because, allthough i prefer the Korg R3, the MK has some advantages like being able to shape the oscillators more, and it's more of an analog than the Di
but the Di has good patches like orchestras and there's plenty of effects you can add to synth sounds to compete with VA synths like
and you can get really good pads and orchestras with the Di
that, and the split function allows you to set the bottom 2 octaves to one sound, and the other 4 to another sound, so you can do some cool things on high octaves and find a fat bass sound to set to the bottom octaves
it's pretty sweet
the piano sounds are really real too
that, and compared to the MK, the keys are realistically sized, and have more than 3 octaves
i knpw how to save sounds on favourites! but when i try to save sounds with the split option activated, it doesn't work!! is there any way to save in favourites two diferent sounds in split form?
when you're done selecting the sounds you want, you have to move the selector (blinking underscore under the patch numbers you select) up to where it say "TEMP PREFORM" or whatever is on the line with the larger font, then just hit write and do it like normal
i don't have my synth out right now, so if i was inaccurate just let me know and i'll do my best to help you out
Nice vid :) You should share this vid with the Di user group I started on the Tube. Do a search on the Tube for the "Juno Di Cafe". I'm trying to get as many Di owners there as possible to share songs, vids, ideas, patches, ect.
wooo that sounded like a song called murder by horse the band :O

Do I need an electronic amplifier for this Synthesizer? Or isn't it necessary?
Thanks

@FreakyMeDown
It works best with a solid state amp
I tried using my Peavey Valve King, but the tube tone didn't go too well with the synth

Nice Keyboard. I want one maybe the juno Gi or korg m-50. I'm so confused on which one to get. I like sound on both of them.
coketherealthing 1 year ago
@coketherealthing
I haven't used either, so i can't really give much insight
I've heard the Rolands have a better interface than the korgs though, I guess you'll have to check it out for yourself though
Good luck!

@troydaby
this is because as soon as you change the patch, it goes to the next patch you click
you're gonna have this problem with...pretty much any synth, just because that's how it works in the synth
solutions?
maybe buy a reverb pedal and plug the synth into it, and when you're about to change sounds click it so the sound will still be there
i don't really know :P sorry!
