  • damn!!!!!thats nice wished i had that.

  • @jdubbjazzbass Yeah.. All hand made - He designed it for steam, but decided on air power for safety.. (just in case...) -- One load of air is good for one full circuit of the track... VERY sweet little train...

  • Verry nice I would love to have a railroad in my backyard! Im a volunteer for a tourest railroad and I get to work with full sized trains.

  • Where is this located?

  • @MrLeonard55 -- The railroad is off Interstate 85 in South Carolina. West of Piedmont SC.

It will be one of the places to be toured as part of the national narrow gauge convention that happens in Hickory next year. (September time frame).. It is really a neat system. They made *everything* from scratch - cars, engine, switches, track, and so on...

Several locally produced engines may visit the location for the convention, possibly a live steam replica of the tweetsie engine.

  • @Billblom I bought a house in SC about 15 miles southwest of rockhill. I'll be moving up next month I hope to get by there to see it.

  • @MrLeonard55 - It's a neat operation, but by appointment. (And you can't blow the whistle continuously, because you use up a lot of air doing that..heh)

A design engineer that works on turbines actually did the design work on that.. A *safe* design for steam... and rock solid for air power.

  • Great video. There used to be a guy in Holiday FL that had one of these set up around his house and a lot next door. Where in SC is this?

  • This line is south of Greenville, several miles off i-85. Neat facility. I've never seen an air powered steamer before. Everything but a couple of turnouts and the actual track itself was made by the folk there.

  • We have friends/relatives that live near Greenville. We will be going up there this Oct. Maybe I can check it out if I can find it.

  • I'm putting one on my property. I have about 2 1/2 miles of track laid already

  • The owner of the line goes along with that.. he's going to have the usual consist when finished.. (They have a couple more cars to build...)

  • I have always loved the crescent trains

  • Very Nice
