What? Windows XP Had problems? the only problem it "had", it's that billy force fed us Windows Vista and windows 7.... though Windows 7 it's ok I guess....
Honestly, I use a HP Pavilion p6140f Desktop, I love it. It is good for everything. Mac.. is good for browsing and editing.. windows.. Good for editing and browsing, and more. I honestly can't see why I would pick a Mac over a windows. Plus, with windows, you get more with what you pay. Mac, you pay more for less. My entire set up for my desktop, LCD widescreen monitor, gaming keyboard, mouse, and a tournament edition macro pad.. It costed about 2500$. And I got more than what I would with a mac
Okay look, about 90 percent of the world is using Windows, about 6 percent is using a mac, and the last 4 percent is using Linux. Macs are for people that do more media stuff, like video editing and so on. BUT Windows can do it too. Plus we can acctualy run games.
haha stupid mac fanboy windows 7 is a great operating system but mac is great for casual users just what's better for you so don't talk shit about anything...
Macs are for people who are too stupid to figure out how to use PC's, so they get all these problems anyone with half a technological brain would know how to avoid.
Macs are good for those looking for simplicity and ease of use but the hardware is inferior for the price-tag. For example, someone bragged about being able to run Crysis on low settings on a (I'm guessing atleast $1,000) Macbook when my Asus Laptop, which I bought for $775, can pump it to high / very high settings. Mac lacks the raw power, you're paying more for software.
@MetroidJunkie2007 Macs have very good hardware, it is just that the software is not made to run games. If you are a gamer, and have any knowledge about computers at all, you would know not to buy a mac. Macs are made to be all-around good, unlike your asus laptop which is probably only made for gaming. It only has one thing that it is good at (which is why it is so cheap).
@IfmonkeysWereReal Are you even reading your own post? Software means nothing if the hardware isn't there to back it up. Even when running Windows, Macs are more expensive for the hardware than PCs. It's not a software issue, it's a 'hardware is too weak' issue.
I've actually read the specs online and they're inferior, period. Software doesn't count for much in an argument since Windows allows open sourced coding, plus my Asus is great for a variety of purposes because of downloaded software.
@MetroidJunkie2007 You are not understanding my point. Let me rephrase it. The Crysis game is not MADE for Macs, it is MADE for PC's. I do not think any software from Synium Software would work well on your Asus laptop. But not because your laptop is 'weak' or because it 'lacks power', but because Synium Software only designs programs for Mac OS X.
@MetroidJunkie2007 Furthermore, I doubt that your Asus Laptop has superior hardware than any MacBook. This is because MacBooks are customizable. If you go to Apple's website, you will find that you can have your Mac specialized to fit your needs. For example, you could buy the i7 intel core processor, or purchase the upgraded RAM, or have a Solid State hard drive installed. But for the purpose of this post... I am going to continue this on another comment because I am running out of characters.
@IfmonkeysWereReal Look at the one that's around $1,000. Comparing the specs, my $800 Asus has far better specs. Customize my ass, they'll just make it cost more.
@MetroidJunkie2007 But for the purpose of this post, let's say that your Asus is Super Ultra Mega Laptop, and that it has greater hardware than any other laptop in the world. When buying a Mac, you must remember that you are not only paying for the hardware, but also for the software, and the integration between the two. Plus, you are paying for the precision engineering that was used to build it, and the quality of the physical aspects of the machine. For example, the MacBook Pros are built...
@MetroidJunkie2007 ...From one solid block of aluminum, which make it lighter and more durable. They also have a LCD Backlit screen covered in a very thin sheet of glass, which does not contain mercury. Also, Each key on the keyboard is seperated from all of the others, unlike PC's, where the keyboard is just one big button with multiple parts. The trackpads on the MacBook Pros support multi-touch gestures, and are made to decrease friction between your fingers and the pad as much as possible...
@MetroidJunkie2007 Macs are also made to be hassle free, and they are. I have heard many stories about people who switch from a PC to a Mac and love it. However, I have never heard a story about someone who switched from a Mac to a PC and was happy about it. In fact, I don't believe I have ever even heard a story of someone switching from a Mac to a PC.
@MetroidJunkie2007 I am going to end this thread of comments here because It is getting way too long. I could keep going for another five or six posts, but I just don't feel like it. I hope you understand my point by now, if you don't.... well, then you are half-retarded. Since this thread of comments will make me look like a huge Apple fanboy, I must inform you that I own an HP Laptop. Remember to read my thread of comments from bottom to top, not top to bottom.
Have you ever wondered why Mac has a control key, an option key, and a command key? Well you need control do powerful tasks on PC and Mac, but on PC it listens, on mac you have to "Command" it, and sometimes you only have an "Option"
It is very simple. I have both. When I want to play with no power I use the Mac. When I want to get real work done, I use the PC. I've worked with both for years and Windows has evolved from crap to the best in class. The problem has very much to do with the poor hardware being produced out there. You get what you pay for.
hmm... i use windows vista, but i cuztomized it n stuff so i don't have problems. I've used a Mac be4 n they're really cool n stuff. I also use my family computer which has Windows 7, and i downloaded some stuff, n it downloads fast, its secure 2. My point is, Windows is actually getting somewhere now, and Apple is running out of tricks up their sleeve... AND MY ACTUAL FUCKIN POINT, Mac or PC, they're good computers n they work well. Depends on what u put on em, so think bout that.
I sold my HP tablet with Vista for a MacBook Pro. Mac has its problems too but i don't find them nearly as annoying as Windows. I don't regret my switch to Apple despite the couple of issues I've had with my Macintosh. I don't want to ever own another Windows based computer again. If I do end up with one I'm putting GEOS, Linux or something else on it.
No. Windows 3.1 was NOT the first operating system. Go to this site at wikipedia, and scroll down to "Time of releases" Oh! whats that? WINDOWS 1.01. You are wrong.
I said Windows millennium me. CE is the compact version, which is different. You have a point with NT although by today's standards NT would have been called Windows 2 business not an entirely new OP sys.
He was right about XP and 98. But with 95 they got it wrong Windows 95 was the successor to windows 3.1. Windows 2.0 was superseded by 3.0 then 3.0 by 3.1 then 3.1 by 95.

(1) They skipped Windows 3 - I wonder why? Jumped from 95 (4.0) back to 2.0. Interesting
(2) The Windows 95 dude was actually stylish. I guess that's supposed to represent Bill Gates back in his younger, cooler days

Control key is.... still the control key
