The original stormtroopers were clones, BUT, clones were phased out in favor of enlisted soldiers to save time (Kamino-grown clones take 10 years to grow, and Spaarti-clones were erratic.) and money. (Star Destroyers and Death Stars are expensive) Stormtroopers ran from Han Solo when he charged them like a maniac in the Death Star. Clone troopers would've gunned him down (and his smelly "dog" too.)

@Reika26 If you read wookiepedia, it states that it was around 50/50 Half Clones, Half recruits, with the clones being grown from a variety of genetic templates. They started introducing birth born recruits around 18 ABY. It's all on wookiepedia ; )

@frandaesquina Clone troopers and Stormtroopers are different. When Stormtroopers are around barely any of them are clones, they have a miliatary draft going on. That's why in the Empire people look different instead of looking the same.
