great job man.. I am a former amateur boxer myself, and now i teach striking classes at a bjj academy.. hands down, pad work is the best to get ur hands going.. all of the combitations will never work in the fight.. EVER! But, it certainly allows to let ur hands go, meaning if u train to trow 10 solid punches, in the fight u will have absolutely no problem to unload a good 1-2-3 on ur opponent. Good job on that drill bro, thanks for sharing ur skills
only thing i would say here is that the puncher is hitting a bit too hard as the sequence progresses. holder want to slap back on the punches a bit to take strain off. i've also found title's mma striking pads to be great for mitt work (they're like a cross between punch mitts and thai pads.
great video, great for training! as a beginner pad holder, this video helps me build on ideas and how combonations dont have to be complicated. thanks for this video and looking forward to seeing your other vids too:
If I could have clicked like 100 times I would have, I have been looking for something like this for a long time. This is great for training, long complicated combos. Thanks, I subscribed to your videos, looking forward to trying them out and checking out your other videos.
I agree about moving out with the jab to avoid the counter, but you use mitts for lots of different drills. I really like the counter drills you have up. Med holla at your boy. I'm training for golden gloves could use another guy.
David I thought it was a good drill and you showed some excellent punching ability. I box and am looking to do pad work drills which mimic a fight more than standard pad work. could you expand or post a video of a fighting attack / defense routine? thanks.

U finish a lot of combos with your back hand which leaves your body facing forward with your centerline open to get hit...I love fighting guys like this! IMO u need to finish more with your front hand to turn your back to its defensive stance
Guys I totally agree, its just a training drill not a fight sequence, I didn't post this as a fighting attack/defense routine, just a nice pad skill drill for developing pad holding abilities
@KevinWood44 man, just because you need to finish off defensively doesn't mean others need to. example: Roy Jones Jnr: the guy had his hands behind his back his face out and chin up and still managed to knock a professional boxer out! anderson silvia: the guys had both hands down and jabbed Forrest Griffin out.. think before you post please. David Breed, keep it up! your clips get me through work!
What the F*ck are you talking about? What KevinWood44 has said is true and correct. Using Jones Jnr and Anderson Silva as an example is ridiculous, they are/were both exceptional at their chosen sport and done/do things 99% of other fighters could not get away with. Just because they could do it and get away with it doesn't make it right. So please learn something before you pipe up talking sh*t.
@lvdjn First of all this is just an instructual video that demonstrates an example to those who wanna learn how to hold pads!! Your evaluation of this guy as a fighter was wack! Stop fattering yourself!!
Great job. This is just the kind of thing i was looking for. I recently acquired some pads, and my friends and I needed more drills to work, and now we've got them. Thanks a million for the upload.
good work guys. not sure why you're always finishing on a right hand - perhaps finishing with a left to leave the beginners (I assume thats your audience) - out of the danger zone.
you always finish with your power hand...now had he been south paw then he would have finished each combo with his left. u never really want to finish with your weak hand.
I disagree. I always teach my students to get the guy on the end of the jab - everything works from there. It shouldn't necessarily be a 'weak' hand, but a set-up. Mayweather is a classic for this. If you finish with a right & miss, you're in trouble and can be countered at that range easily.
nice technique :)

Really good example of pad work. One of the best 'tutorial' ones i have seen on here. The way you break it down really helps, keep up the good work!

@KevinWood44 i agree a bit open..even as he throws hes open to the world ..need to tighten the defence while on the attack

@KevinWood44 most combinations end with your right hand. 6-3-1 5-3-1
