Sad to say this store is now closed. The menger hotel is just across the alley from here. Thank you. Last time I was there the rubber overrides didn't really work either.
Dillard's used only 100,000 something sq ft.out of over 500,000 sq ft. Joske's was also famous for a holiday land for children during christmas season. Joske's was founded by a german immigrant in san antonio. Joske's has fasinated me for a long time and we had there stores in houston. The only Joske's still in use here (that i know of) is Dillard's Post Oak at The Galleria. The one I grew up with at Town & country has been demolished.
Thank you for posting this. I thougt I Would share a little of the history of this store. This was the original Joske's built in 1938 or 39. I would guess this elevator to be traction due to the fact it owuld often bounce on the 2nd floor. The bouncing seemed to come from above. The service elevator here was likely originally a passenger car as well. Joske's had a restaurant and tea room in the basement. Dillards also did not use the entire building. continuedin next post.
well the hydralic elevator at JC Penny in monroville mall is hydralic and goes pretty fast I Know it was hydralic because of the sound hydralic can be pretty fast to nto as fast as traction but it might have been moterized
The elevator has sensors actually. Notice the black bars that pops out when the doors are closing. When there is an obstacle btw the doors and doors hit it, they will open again.
Service elevators are usually allied because the staff needs them for deliveries or transporting big items, and it wouldn't be convenient for them if customers were always using it.
May you ride the service elevator

those are in older elevators and they used to have thoses in the elevators at monroville mall but then they replaced them with sencers
patricknedz 4 years ago
Um how are those sensors is you have to push on them for them to work?
I thought a sensor worked automatically when it detected motion.

Why Otis elevators have no sensors in passenger lift instead of service lift. Do service lift have sensors. Why do they need key to the service lift.
