I actually cried the first time I saw Spock pulling off the heroic sacrifice to save the Enterprise.
On hindsight, I understand why Kirk and the rest of the crew disregarded the Starfleet's order against going to the Genesis Planet. In particular,Kruge (the Klingon captain of the Bird of Prey) found it out the hard way by stranding Spock with Kirk on that planet. :D
This was one of the best scenes of the franchise! Kirk had to face death for the first time in his life. It was a mistake to bring Spock back, it diminished this scene all together.
@spacedude61 : Let's not worry about Spock being brought back. It's just a movie after all. We SHOULD be worrying about the criminal immigrant beaner infestation that is happening right now in our country. Everyone needs to be doing their part in eradicating those foul roaches!
@unclebobpart2 Look UncleDUMBASSwhatever TAKE your bigoted punk ass off this chat board and go straight to Arizonian and then you and sheriff joe can jack off each other! YOU FUCK FREAK!!!!
@spacedude61 : Obviously, you are a beaner-lover, and thus you are part of the problem, not the solution. You should be removed from this country along with all the criminal immigrant filth.
@Tylerzord1 No, Khan was disassembled by the explosion that created the new planet. Spock was simply dumped ON the new planet after things settled down. You could say Khan's atoms are part of the planet itself (his conciousness- well- it went wherever your faith or lack of faith suggests)
@bennyguitarcarr Khan is a genetically engineered superhuman tyrant who once controlled more than a quarter of the Earth during the Eugenics Wars of the 1990s. He was born and raised on earth, and thus experienced the 1980s first hand. Add to that, half the women in the rural areas of the southern states STILL wear their hair 1980s style. No shock at all that he chose to do his do this way. :)
I especially like the horn and the strings playing at 8:40. The best part was just about to happen, Amazing Grace on the bagpipe and then the full orchestra coming in on AG. Love it.
That was perfect, I have to hate "The Trilogy" to calm myself down, always, or lines Khan, anything, tp not get wrapped up in sadness or illogical thinking, but to focus on perfect editing, and 2 as EXTREMELY well edited. But there was no web then, no respect for liking the relaionship between the characters. but I was an 8 year old kid with shadow autism--and that leaves you appearing like a Vulcan
I may have been raised on Trek by a Trekkie and loved not everything Star Trek that even happened with casts, and I hate the other series', but this film is perfectly done. even with those subtexts everywhere and the theme of Kirk aging and asks Spock about the book, A Tale of Two Cities, with that ending performed almost symbolically by Kirk and Spock, and the one willing to sacrifice his life and all.----and I do also like that they get the Enterprise to do anything SPock back if he can be....
@Commonwealth96 Wow, yea, that would've added a significant amount of time without really adding any more to the 'needs of the many' idea. As the video is, it makes it pretty clear he's dead, so dragging out the emotion in this instance would just be distracting to its point. And again, more to see on the DVD that way. :)
@NobodyKA1 Yea, but I was pressed to get it under 10mins AND stay to the point of Spock's sacrifice. Oh, and I didn't want to give away the whole store to the few out there that haven't seen the whole thing- better they should watch the movie to see and hear it all. :)
Congratulations you done an excellent job - I've been a fan of all things Star Trek since I first clasped eyes on it many many moons ago and shall continue on for many more moons.

Hey since spoc also was miraculously resurrected in the 3rd movie
Doesn't that mean khan would have also been resurrected?

@bennyguitarcarr Khan was a genetically-engineered human, from Earth, sent into exile (twice).

The worst part is seeing Spock like that.
For years, he was the untouchable, the undefeatable, the unbreakable.
Now, before our very eyes, he is defeated, broken, dying.
Heart-rending.
