  • I actually learned a LOT from this video! Great job, dude. Thank you very much.

  • @xD0NKEYx close...he uses 2.0 mm dunlop sharps

  • dude how do you get that tone? pedals ?

  • very clean playing..very impressive..nice work

  • This is much better than yngwei's "lessons" where he just says:

    "I don't know how i'm picking I just play..."

*Incredibly fast lick with no explanation*

    "kind of something like that"

    ....thanks a lot yngwei.

  • Yngwie makes Angus look like a little bitch.

  • fantastic lesson and playing. if not for the accent, I might have thought you were Yngwie himself. well done. have his tone down to a tee.

  • "How to play like Yngwie Malmsteen" you forgot to mention " 1) Be a direct descendant of God. ".

  • Good F'ING Lord ! With your face not showing, I'm not sure this isn't Malmsteen ? You're that good... Keep it up man...

  • youre really good :O

  • @yngwieisking

    Hey Man!

Thanks for the videos! Really great help.

Best on Malmsteen's style on Youtube.

  • @ArpeggioFelatio lol you're right but the point of the vid isn't to make viewers play lick, riffs and solos like malmsteen?just sayin...no hate included lol

  • Great sound! (& playing!!!!!)

  • Buenisimo chavon, sos re estetico o prolijo verte tocar, apenas moves la mano.

  • You play like you've had a frontal lobotomy. Don't you enjoy playing?

  • hey man .. I've really gotten stuck .. tried playing Yngwie licks slowly fo two years now but at the time of implementing everything goes sloppy as hell.. what sticking points you had while trying to play like this maybe some help here will help me breakthrough

  • Which song is at 3:50 ?

  • @donnaldinho I want to knwo the name of the song too!!!!!

  • 66666 Viewer \m/

  • great!! super...

  • right - i get the eddie van malmsteen thing...can you show us your own style now please :)D

  • please can you tab that last lick you show its soooo cool!!!!

  • @ArpeggioFelatio Haha, that's a fair point! I normally play with the guitar on my right leg now. I have seen Yngwie play with the guitar on his left leg a few times though. Just a few! Search around on youtube and you'll find it pretty quickly.

  • @yngwieisking I would stick to keeping it on the left leg, I think that keeping it on the left leg (like an actual classical guitar player) makes it easier to jump around. Likie when you are doing the faster runs up and down the fret board. I find that putting on the right leg somewhat obstructs your arm and causes you to really tuck your arm into your chest.

  • nice videos man your playing is very good!!!!

  • oups! got it wrong... it's a major 3 string sweep

  • Nice playing!

I find this basic minor 3string sweep really difficult. Can't get a clean sound when i try rolling over the three strings with my index finger...

  • is this technique called "circular picking"?

  • what pick u used in this vid?

  • @faridzayish

I think he used the Dunlop Tortex Sharp Picks (1.5mm). I have them and I love them. You CANNOT bend them no matter how hard you press on them; they're awesome.

  • ive been watching ur videos and i now make 95 dollars a weekend.thanks for the help :)

  • hi

  • hows the guitar set up? I have the exact one, but the action has to be pretty high for large bends not to fret-out. How the action?

  • @ceyhanb the frets were scalloped...just a li'l bit.....

  • beautiful

  • got it good there, keep it up

  • Nice sound. What pedal are you use?

  • Ya Know Im Almost 100% Sure That That Acually Yingwie Himself

    Amazing Video

  • blackmore is beter than malmsteen

  • Outstanding!!! Great video. And for those that say that you aren't doing anything special, let's see them put their videos up on here.

  • sweep,sweep,sweep.what else is new.yawn

  • Thankx soo much i really appriciate your help. This video really works guys.Your a good teacher and a good player as well.

  • you should put up a video of evil eye, I'm currently learning it and id like to see a person with your skill cover it. i greatly appreciate all of your lesson unlike most of these jealous dickheads.

  • its a bit slow for yngwie impro

  • Very good breakdown of YJM's favorite licks. Sounds very nice as well, distorted with good string definition.

  • One word: Awesome. Are you Yngwie's Brother?

  • great videos. u are an excellent player. very clean and smooth.

  • How to play like Yngwie: ONLY PLAY DIMINISHED AND HARMONIC MINOR. Fuck Yngwie. Great lesson though dude!!! You're a beast!!!!

  • @mytagisWVU69lolz Fuck you

  • @mytagisWVU69lolz phrygian

  • @ferociouspokemachine shit...yeah left one out

  • Did you scallop your frets?

  • i envy you

  • How to REALLY play like Yngwie Malmsteen-

    step 1: practice

    step 2: repeat

  • Holy shit man! what are you doing making youtube videos lol!

  • Thx for posting this. I'll check it out tonight. Peace!

  • Thanks for helping me to unleash the fury like Yngwie

  • AWESOME...can u give me your pedal and amp setup/setting to get the tone please..can reply in my inbox too...thanks mate....

  • Comment removed

  • So YJM strat is quite powerfull then, what are your settings, does the guitar sound like that on some random eq distortion? haha nice playing sir

  • Comment removed

  • @flyinghorse13 Yes, I know it is, but I'm just not sure what that's got to do with me posting harmless Yngwie-style tuition videos. Not all musicians have to be paid, and not all even have to aspire to be paid. Personally I'd rather leave it to people like Yngwie, as opposed to try and make it, and end up being some nobody-musician trying to make a living but never really being successful. There are enough people doing that already.

  • Comment removed

  • @flyinghorse13 And what club are you in? Cause you're certainly no Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley, or their guitar playing equivalents. I devote about 30 minutes a day to my guitar, it's hardly the same as studying for 5/6 years to become a doctor, and then choosing never to practise medicine. I know people who gig part-time as well, and I feel sorry for them. THEY are the nobodies. Trying to make it, but just failing miserably, never making it. Sound familiar to you?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @flyinghorse13 If I was good enough to "make it", then I'd certainly try, but as I'm well aware that I'm not, I'd definitely rather leave it to those are who, as opposed to try and end up like...you. Let's face it, that comment you left earlier, about the small-town bands you've stood on stage with...it wasn't too impressive now, was it?

  • Comment removed

  • @yngwieisking Married? No. Hot girlfriend? Yes. And yes, I feel sorry for the guys who gig, who are trying to make it, who are hardly making a living at all, knowing that they'll never amount to anything. Why, do you envy those guys? Do you aspire to be one? Why do I need a shrink? I've never been told that before.

  • @yngwieisking

hello mate..what is RiffmasterPro?? is that a software or pedal?

  • @DonCarleones Hi. RiffmasterPro just allows you to slow down any song/riff/solo(anything) without changing the pitch, so it's really handy if you're trying to learn intricate solos by ear.

  • @yngwieisking

so u mean..riffmasterpro is a software? where can i get it?

  • @DonCarleones Yeah. Just click on the link in the info for this video. Cheers

  • @flyinghorse13 But I didn't ask how the music business works. Nor did anyone else here. I'm smart enough to be able to earn a decent living, so I can devote my spare time to doing the things I like...like playing Yngwie stuff on my many electric guitars. Are you saying that any guitarist who isn't getting paid for what they play is doing something wrong?

  • @yngwieisking mate how the fuck do you put up with these fuckin looser's

  • Comment removed

  • @flyinghorse13 Ok, so let me get this straight...because I am quite happy playing guitar for myself, and because no one pays me to play at my home then I'm not a musician(you should learn how to spell it)? I own the Malmsteen "Play loud" strat(you know, the one that costs $12500)...I think I know how to make money anyway.

  • he don't like donuts...

  • Comment removed

  • @flyinghorse13 I don't play at functions. What's your problem?

  • awsome video, but i think yngwie plays a litle bit faster than that, but awsome vid anyway!!!

  • u are freaking fucking awesome bro ;) nice finger ....

    very good video ..

  • I don't get it! You make it look so easy to do a two or three string sweep, but I can't do it to save my life!

  • @Treeworks211 it requires dedication to sit there and practice for more then 3hrs a day =D you can do it anyone can

  • Nice gear...you got BANK!

  • Wow thanks, I find this very useful and entertaining, you play very well and I love the guitar, I am going to trick out my Strat with similar pickups. I love their sound!!!!

  • How can you bend that last note that much and so easily? is because of the scalloped neck?

  • can i borrow your guitar for one week :D :D

  • you can show as many licks as you want but if you dont explain the scales or theory your not really telling people how to play like yngwie

  • @dirtyolbum96 It's up to the guitarists themselves to take a bit of initiative though, isn't it? No one showed me theory, but I picked it up pretty quickly anyway, just through watching Yngwie. Eventually you catch on without difficulty. If you don't, maybe you're better sticking to Nirvana.

  • @yngwieisking did ya think that theroy is pretty important, or just a good help?

  • @yngwieisking You do have theory though right?

  • @yngwieisking

He has a point and you know it.

Super technical guitar playing with complicated melodies and structures should be explained on a theory level, even if it's just basic.

You would do well with toning down the arrogance as well.

    It's a good video though.

  • @dodel1 Sorry I'm not sure who you're referring to when you say he has a point and I know it. No arrogance here. But if certain douchebags come to my videos looking to start a battle then I'm not gonna sit back and let them win.

  • @yngwieisking Same here. But not everyone can teach themselves something like this. I'm just saying that this is not really a lesson of how to play like Yngwie but a demonstration of some licks Yngwie might play. Oh ya and Cobain was a classically trained pianist. NIRVANA RULES

  • @yngwieisking i want your amp !

  • nice stuff dude keep it up subbed

  • Very helpful. There are many of us that would like to have this skill and I would like to thank you for your efforts. And you sound excellent by the way. Cheers mate!

  • Brilliant stuff!!!

    Thanks 4 posting

  • I don't know what all the fuss's about, around here...

In the video, he's not even trying to show his skills, he's just giving us some good ol' Yngwie style exercises

oh, and for people like @desdemona222b yeah, everybody can sweep, so that's not very impressive.

But what's impressive is how clean you do it, and @yngwieisking keeps his sweeps pretty tidy !

  • Can't believe guys can argue about sweep picking for days....I think some of you need to stop playing with yourselves and your guitars and get laid.

  • heres some reasons why you sound like him 1# awsome Amp 2# awsome guitar 3# awsome guitarist 4# watch his pinkey finger on the volume pack and forth

  • I am always wondering why many people chose to hide their faces on You Tube. Are they too humble or just have low self esteem? Like this guy for example, he kicks major butt, his playing, Yngwie gear and shit, yet he preferred to stay clandestine.

  • You have totally nailed that sound and style - kudos!

  • I really really don't get the hate on Yngwie Malmsteen. He's got an awesome and unique style of playing.

  • Hi!

Thank you for posting! May i ask your signal chain for amplification?

    peace, jim

  • Great playing it's orgasms to my ears

  • what guitar are you useing there??

  • WTF guys! u dont need to talk shit just becouse you can`t play it!!

keep up playing and posting good videos yngwieisking!!

    Morty, Norway!

  • i have 2 questions:

    1. How do you get rid of the noise ? advice on muting strings keeping it clean ?

    2. I need to know the action of the strings in your guitar, the height of the strings fom fretboard how should i set it up for sweeps ?

Thanks in Advance, nice playing !!

  • what equipment are you using, id really like to know :)

  • Is there a lot of sound difference between the tribute model and regular signature model? ie. resonance..

  • Ignore those who are bashing you, I think you do a great job replicating Yngwie's style.

  • Very good!

  • Not a lot of peoples do teach malmsteen stuff and just a few do it good and you do it great ;) !!

You've got some really great stuff here, it helped me a lot thanks !!

  • @YngwieisKing

Can we get some tabs to your awesome lessons man? You are a fantasic player and thank you of ruploading these videos. The picing pattern alone is extremely helpful:)

  • PLEASE TAB THIS LESSON MAN!

Great stuff dude. Your an excellent player!

  • Are there tabs for your lessons?

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome stuff man! Don't listen to the HATERS. Any way we can get tabs to your lessons?

  • Thanks for this useful video, man. My sweep picking isn't as clean as yours, but I won't give up ! Cheers.

  • You must love Yngwie to transcribe his solos/licks and then show here how to play them :). Thanks you, I like Yngwie too, but I can't play his things... They are fast.

  • Thanx a lot, man. I'm really appreciate your work, and I'd like to see more Yngwie licks videos.

  • АЦТОЙ!

  • Two question:

How long have you been playhing guitar?

Why don't you put your guitar in front of the camera.

  • you make nooo sense at all when you explain but it sounds cool

  • @axelboy420 Wow, so you can bitch about other people's videos when you have none yourself. Equally lame.

  • Comment removed

  • @desdemona222b dude, why dont you get a life and not bitch at what people have to say

  • @axelboy420

That took you total of 3 minutes to respond to. Again, get a life Mr.Jealous. Also be less of an internet troll. Clearly your a social animal, and get along well with others.

    Don't hate loser.

  • @desdemona222b i'm not jealous of anything, i dont think sweep picking is an amazing talent, anyone can sweep, i can sweep, and its not that impressive, if anything, its bad for your picking because you down pick everything. malmstine is a great guitarist, but people were doing all of that shit way before him. and dude, if anything, your being a troll calling me names and shit

  • @axelboy420 What do you mean? Look at my vids where I do 5/6 string sweeps and you'll see up-picking. Btw, before you reply to this comment, ask yourself this...does anyone here actually give a shit what you think? Have a little think about it. Ok.

  • @yngwieisking can i borrow your talent for one week please?

  • @axelboy420 i agree its just a a way of playign like lagato etc etc....but its not back for your hand....if you have dirllied the up down teq you should be fine

  • @axelboy420 What is an amazing talent...? Sweep picking is very hard to do fluently, just like any other advanced technique on the guitar. Nobody was sweeping on electric guitar to the caliber of Yngwie when he debuted, not that it matters, because using a technique isn't what makes you great or noteworthy.

  • @axelboy420 To my knowledge, sweep picking might have been born from the hands of jazz guitarists. And I am talkin about decades before Yngwie made a name for himself in 1984 with his flashy sweeping prowess. I have a recording of Django Reinhardt from 1950s where he employed sweep picking in quite noticeable lengths of phrases.

Sweep picking is definitely one of the most worn out and abused techniques but to do it fast with clear articulation is a mind-boggling challenge.

  • @axelboy420 lol your a serious douche bag!! I watched your videos BTW lol . you know nothing about music and you are a dipshit noob . if yngwie shit on his guitar it would sound better than you!!!! You dont know what your talking about. . btw just because this isnt your taste doesnt mean youre better than it or it sucks ps lamb of god are douche bags and you show very little to no guitar skill in your videos very generic too

  • @DtretcHx i dont have any videos, so why dont you keep your mouth shut, alright?

  • @axelboy420 I will not shut up!! I will slap your mouth for The little bitch you are!! post a video then showing you are a more interesting better guitarist than this man!! I'm so sick of these NooBs that are so quick to insault But have nothing to show themselves Youre insaults are not even original > Sweeping is Awesome and can be applied to many different styles You are a moron my friend

  • @DtretcHx damn dude, calm down. i'm not saying that yngwie sucks, its just that sweep picking is an over used technique. its cool in moderation, but if you over use it, it gets really monstrous and annoying (ex: any song by brain drill). but i think it takes more talent to alternate pick all of the notes/strings instead of just going down/up. its just my opinion. and for next time, you might not want to piss off people over the internet, you dont know who you are talking to.

  • @axelboy420

So then Jeff Loomis must not be a good guitartist then.

Typically, when someone comes into anothers thread and bashes them, they are considered trolls.

Sweep picking is one way to play an arpeggio. You can play and arpeggio alternate picking/string skipping to.

    Both are valid techniques.

Why not post a video yourself of sweeping if it is so easy, and not impressive. Lets see what you can do.

  • @frankpaws why the fuck are you bashing on just me? i'm just dont like sweep picking, is it that hard to realize that not everyone thinks sweep picking is cool? it takes more skill to alternate pick the arpeggio then sweep up/down, i'm just saying. and besides, everyone is sweeping now a-days and it looks damn retarded. And do you people have anything better to do rather than looking on videos and seeing who bashed your beloved sweep picking?

  • @axelboy420 Thats the question dude. If you don't like sweeping, then why do you come in all condescending telling everyone else here that they are lame.

When did a technique become a "cool" label? It seems more like you are the one with issues, and are trying to tell everyone that you are better.

Well then, whip out something impressive then. How about Glass Prison arps at tempo alt picked.

Hmm, let me guess. That is just too "lame" for you to waste your time.

    Your lame.

  • I as well as you enjoy doing brusque switching on the pick up selector!!!

  • tell me aboput that site please hows it work is it a scam?

  • @topshoter2007 Hi. It is basically a course on effective affiliate marketing.

  • Well,, i think what you play is great,,,to come any where near malmsteen's style is hard,,The negative debunkers are definitely jealous,,,I do love ,,dying man ,from the genisis album,,which he made when he was 16,,amazing stuff!!!This is now on my favourates section,,,Keep on rockin !!!

  • wtf????you just shred my face of buddy!!!i wish i could play like you(yngwie)!!!!!!!!! :)

  • how hard is it to transition to that scalloped fret board?

  • u teach so fast

    i cant learn TT

  • is there a difference to windows media player because i can half speed a mp3 without changing the pitch

  • Good stuff. Thank you.
