  • makes me cry. sometimes.

  • Anything with Joe's voice is worth listening to. Whether he's singing, reading poetry, or just talking. Its audial whiskey.

  • @DevoDevoT it really is, proof that perfect pitch etc isn't as important as soul. Though I guess that depends on which genre of music. This song has always done it for me, bittewsweet

  • This song always makes me sad

  • Joe's premonition

  • Happy Birthday, Joe.

    R.I.P. Punk rock warlord

  • I am still amazed, of the brutality of this song.

  • DEATHSTAR!!!!!!!

  • Nice sweet song prove that the Clash were able to create and play any kind of music they wanted, they were apart from many bands.

  • strange as it may sound this is real poetry and they are always the greatest...every genre they try it's the same result...exeptional..peculiar..thanks boys for everything you've done.

  • Wow... this is the Clash? I really need to listen to their albums...

  • Is that Joe tickling the ivories? They weren't the only band that mattered, but they sure were great. I am a spec of dust on this planet.

  • the thief of life...

  • the best song i never heard

  • The lyrics: "In a one stop only motel

A storm bangs on the cheapest room

The phantom slips in to spill blood

    Even on the sweetest honeymoon

    The killer of love

Caught the last late Niagara bus"

This passage reminds me of the movie Niagara with Marilyn Monroe and I think it may have inspired this lyric. The honeymmoon reference cinched it for me. And the reference to a murderer of love conjures the disturbing murder scene of Rose Loomis (Monroe's character)in the shadowy clock tower.

  • I love this song! Love the Niagara reference! The death scene of Rose Loomis (Marilyn Monroe)in Niagara is what it brings to mind. In the clock tower.

  • @ivancesarg what the fuck u on about, who are the pixies? whoever they are the clash can fucking kick the shit out of them.

  • @cpj93070 The Pixies are about as awesome as the Clash, but in a completely different way.

  • @cpj93070 fuck off, this is good but Surfer Rosa is one of the greatest records of all time. the pixies rule

  • @daddyfatsaxohten YOU FUCKING STUPID TWAT, they have nothing on the clash you twat and you know it who the fuck are the pixies anyway ask anyone in the rock world whos better and i guarantee you they will say the clash.

  • @cpj93070 duly noted

  • @daddyfatsaxohten Who? What?

  • @cpj93070 Hey, I love the Clash, but don't hate on the Pixies. They're both really great, but I must say the Clash are better in my opinion. Music is subjective; the Internet would be a much better place if people would realize that simple fact.

  • @ivancesarg

You know that a lot of people complain that the Pixies songs sound the same? Spanish bombs sounds nothing like Ghetto Defendant.

People love the Clash because each album sounds very different. Plus how can you expect people to take you seriously when you think that Career is spelt "Carrier"

  • @ivancesarg You're a fucking idiot

  • the atmosphere of this song is unique

  • It's such an overlooked song, unfortunately, but it's so brilliant. Thank you for uploading this =)

  • Pure poetry

  • What a creative band ! I would have loved to see Joe Strummer and Harry Connick Jr. perform together in some way. I"m glad "London Calling " was named top album for the 80's by Rolling Stone magazine.

  • i thought it was fjord

  • oh shit i had the volume down :D

  • ermm wheres the sound gone??

  • Am I the only one who just can't help snapping my fingers every time he does?

  • you know what ive never thought about doing that, ill have to try it next time i listen to it :D

  • Yeah, but i'm not even trying, i just do it!

And the other day, I had Death is a Star stuck in my head and I kept humming and snapping.

Leading to all my friends thinking I was losing it...

  • haha you have lost it by the sound of it! :D

  • Yeah, I have pretty much come to terms with my insanity ;-)

Thanks for uploading the song, its loverly and feeds my craziness nicely

  • no. me too. the first snap is the hardest to catch. it's like a challenge. and I'm on my knees when I do this. it's only way to stand when you hear this masterpiece that closes the story of the clash.

"in vain lovers claim but they never had met" SNAP SNAP SNAP

  • I love this song, thanks so much for uploading it :D

  • "And the clouds are high in Spanish mountains

And a Ford roars through the

night full of rain." That has stayed in my long term memory for 26 years.

  • This song is so... Different. That makes it kinda more interesting than the others... Was it a joke or did they try to do something else as well?
