Terence McKenna spoke about the Goddess in terms of what he called "The Gaian Mind," and believed that the model he articulated must've been what the goddess was for paleolithic man. He believed that the psychedelic trance *at effective doses* was an encounter with "the mind of nature," which he dubbed "the gaian mind," because what it elicits is a powerful sense of maternal love likened to agapé, and an intuitive omniscient knowingness, goddess-like attributes.
