JUST CHILL OUT......HOW about this have a good time/// and enjoy the time and age you live in......400 years ago you might be a slave lifting 200lbs stones; or something worse......then you can complain
Will the blades hit each other? i know 1 is higher and the other is lower, but for example when turning a an angle the wind hitting on the blades causing the blades to bend.
@kuciaotopi the blades are actually designed to cross the paths of each other, but both engines are hooked up to a differential system which shares the power equally to the two sets of rotor blades (each engine powers both blades instead of one for the front and back) and they're mechanically joined so that if one moves, the other moves at the same speed so they don't collide
learned that from one of the RAF pilots who flies these every day :)
@kuciaotopi Not unless something bad happens like a broken drive shaft. The blades are "phased" so that they don't come into contact. The Chinook is the only helicopter that can have a mid-air collision with itself. I used to work on these once upon a time.
That is just too cool for words! what synchronization! I wondered for a second if the helicopter was being lowered by some gigantic crane or something.... thanks, very cool. Oh and don't worry about the idiots who think your video is fake, some people are becoming unbelievably daft and ignorant... you'd think we'd get smarter with all of the information available today but it seems the opposite is true... it's sad.... Anyway, I like your video and if you served in Afghanistan, thank you.
land on a house! it looks like the props are barely moving because the camera cant see the roaters moving fast it does the same thing for my phone go take your phone camera and go film and start up of a plane and watch it on ur screen
the shadows move with the same speed... You saw youre shadow remaining behind when youre running fast and needed to wait for it to come and reach you? Nope, cause it moves with the same speed.
Half the commentors still seem confused. This is a variation of what is formally called the "wagon wheel effect". If curious, there is a whole description on Wikipedia.
lol a chinook helicopter flew over a mall by my house once i dont think it was a military one but i saw it fly over my house so i pumped up my pellet gun and started shooting at it (obviously i missed but it was still fun)
It's just like nuki said, the speed of the rotors is different as the speed from the camera's frame refresh. You can see the same problem in movies, when they are filming those old CRT computer screens, On the film, it looks as if they get wide bands all over the screen, but it's just the difference between camera refresh and screen refresh.
Ahh geez. You're an idiot if you truly think this is a toy, or was filmed in slow motion and mixed with regular sound. It has to do with the rotor speeds syncing up with the speed of the digital shutter. I'm amazed at how many dumb ass comments I'm having to delete lately because people think this is some kind of trick or fake, or that the helicopter isn't real.
I'm going to allow this comment, simply to point something out to you. If you look in the info section of the video, (it hasn't changed since I uploaded this) that it says rotors. The gentleman whos voice you hear, was the one filming. You are correct, but if you'd read the info, you'd see that information is already there.
I used to work on these birds, we called them Props, Rotors or Blades. What ever you feel like at the time you say it. I was a "Powertrain" mech, but they called us "Prop and Rotor shop".
Hey Casey. If he ever gets his stuff packed. We were supposed to fly out the same day but he's a demob so hes lower priority. Otherwise Id have made sure he got on the plane personally. =) Tell him he needs to get off his duff and get his stuff mailed. -Brian
The blades look like they are rotating slowly because the camera's film is being captured at almost the exact same frequency as the blades are turning.
It wasnt a camcorder, it was a camera that was in film mode, thats probably why. Not sure what type it is, it's in my boss's office and Im too lazy to go look. =P

Awesome video. x]
I love the fact the rotor blades look like they're going awesome slow. What strikes me though is how clear the rotors are!

No, there are many owned and leased to civilian contractors.

this means that the camera frames per second is exactly in sinc with the choppers rotations per second
soulchain247 2 years ago 4
Well, A little off.... otherwise the blades wouldn't look as if they were going so slow.
