Adhan is the name of the song, people. How fucking obvious is it that its not really an "Adhan" in the traditional sense. Jesus titty fucking christ, shut the fuck up and enjoy the fact that this is an insanely beautiful piece of music performed magnificently by an absolute virtuoso. If he wants to call the song "Arab Farts Smell Like Goat and Misogyny", he can. Fuck off, you self important ass hats.
@peaceworldlifes Jews have a population worldwide thats 1% the size of Islam, less than 0.1% of the world population, and you still want to blame all your problems on them...pathetic.
@darklight254 Adhan means what you think it means. But the idea is that an Adhan is reminiscent of the Middle East, and this piece is as well. So it takes the name "Adhan" in a symbolic meaning.
@diegowsanchez It's called an eBow, not iBow. It's an electric magnet that uses an electromagnetic field to vibrate the strings constantly. This gives you the continuas sound you hear, as aposed to when you pluck a string.
@HiImJerry8 It's a device that uses an electromagnet to vibrate the strings of the guitar, or in this case, bass. gives you that really nice singing effect.
He's most likely the bass player i admire the most musically speaking, i play woodwinds but his Drastic Measures is a musical masterpiece and his Soliloquy is among the best solo bass music ever.
THIS is the reason I want a Sustain Pedal on my 'board... or a Bass with a custom Bass Sustainiac Driver & Bass Trem in it, but that would get pretty expensive.
i have to say this , Michael Manring is one of the best people to ever use the bass guitar...... The adhān (Arabic: أَذَان Azan/Ezan [ʔæˈðæːn]) is the Islamic call to prayer, recited by the muezzin. The root of the word is ʼḏn أَذَن meaning "to permit", and another derivative of this word is uḏun, meaning "ear". source WIKIPEDIA ...
I love that he uses all aspects of the instrument to produce music. At the end there when He uses the volume knob to mute the sound, plays the string and then brings in the sound as well as using the detuners while playing. Using the tuners are apart of his playing and not just plucking the strings. Great.
sounds like some middle-eastern or or partly indian stuff..isnt it?and adhan is the hindi/bengali for the term electric charge....and obviously it is...
actually, an Ebow, Fishman transducers, the fuckin xtenders on his keys for rapidly changing tunings, a bass that costs 120 chinese kids+the complementary lifetime supply of noodles and tiger balm... and of course some epic-level skills:D

and only and only instrument is used to play is (vocal).
There are dozens of varied melodies sung by different vocalists so for and can be heard on Youtube see as "Adhan"
Amazing thing is to improvise this vocal soothing melodious
song into musical instrument's work. I am just shocked how Michael
has improvised the most difficult and complex vocal master piece antient melody into bass guitar expression.

i really like this piece. very fitting title.
a call to prayer is universal in its nature. we would all do well to remember that.
how small we actually are is often times overthrown by our own self-indulgent, fearful impulses.
a piece like this reminds me that denying myself those destructive impulses often leads to much bigger things.
