  • Terrible.

  • @junaidbhura no u just suck dick

  • arabic people are the best,

  • I used to watch porn. Now I listen to this.

  • Why is a Jew/Arab conversation happening on a bass video.. Shut up and enjoy the music

  • Wow, how much gear is in this guy's rack?

  • @JohnHorne1991 however much it is, that bass is still worth more.

  • Adhan is the name of the song, people. How fucking obvious is it that its not really an "Adhan" in the traditional sense. Jesus titty fucking christ, shut the fuck up and enjoy the fact that this is an insanely beautiful piece of music performed magnificently by an absolute virtuoso. If he wants to call the song "Arab Farts Smell Like Goat and Misogyny", he can. Fuck off, you self important ass hats.

  • @ThoughtfulAtheist If you don't mind, can I use that as a song title?

  • @BigBlueSpaceGoat absolutely

  • @ThoughtfulAtheist why world hate arab, zionist jewish ruin arab future for many years

  • @peaceworldlifes learn english.

  • @ThoughtfulAtheist Learn arab

  • @Doedelhannes if I were trying to start a fight with an arab on an arab website, you know what? I would. Jackass.

  • @ThoughtfulAtheist Huh? I´m not Arab, neither eager to fight... Just found your claim a little unfair.

  • @peaceworldlifes Jews have a population worldwide thats 1% the size of Islam, less than 0.1% of the world population, and you still want to blame all your problems on them...pathetic.

  • music has some power some weak

  • adhan call prayer is more better than any music honeslty , many most science know that adhan+quran recitiona is great relax calm ,

    music make people wild

  • @peaceworldlifes that's some stupid shit you said

  • @guidobellamy u may say i stupid but fact u may know nothing about adhan + islam!!!

  • Influential and inspiring, a strata of its own.

  • this is misleading its guitar music not azan

  • @TheDuniya123 Yeah, and it's way better

  • this is just amazing...the sound seems to ring out right into your soul...beautiful!!

  • sorry,i like what he did...but it's not adhan.:(

  • @biboobox lol ineh

  • Comment removed

  • what the fuck is he on

  • @MrSudobeg He's on the most perfect drug around!!! It's called pure genious !

  • @narutoman93 thanks for clarifying.

  • @darklight254 No problem.

  • This is weird.. I searched adhan - like the Muslim call to prayer, and I got a guitar..

Maybe you should change your title. It's kind of misleading. Unless adhan means something else. in that case I'll take back this comment.

  • @darklight254 He did a guitar rendition of the Holy Adhan - I'm Muslim and I very much enjoy it.

  • @darklight254 Adhan means what you think it means. But the idea is that an Adhan is reminiscent of the Middle East, and this piece is as well. So it takes the name "Adhan" in a symbolic meaning.

  • ?

    ¿

  • For anyone who doesn't know what a real Adhan is, look at this:

    watch?v=m6Ren0qbf3w

  • is he signed with CandyRat?

  • watch?v=1g0oO1AA04Q watch that, and I think people will understand what he tries to interpret. I hope Michale Manring will be blessed.

  • ...wow...

  • Perform at rock concert.

  • Sounds like he is trying to simulate the sound of the Islamic Call to Prayer (Adhan, pronounced a-than).

  • i dunno why, but i get the image of egypt or some epic rainforest with this.

  • @BigCanOfBeans watch?v=1g0oO1AA04Q watch that :) feel it

  • do u have a new album?

  • Book of Eli 2 - Soundtrack ??? =)

  • what is an iBow?

  • @diegowsanchez It's called an eBow, not iBow. It's an electric magnet that uses an electromagnetic field to vibrate the strings constantly. This gives you the continuas sound you hear, as aposed to when you pluck a string.

  • That screech at 2:49 is so powerful!

  • Que capo que este tipo, por Dios.

  • adhan is muslim prayer call come praye

  • are u muslim?

  • this is what i call: feel the music inside. unique style mr. Manring

  • pardon me for the ignorance, but may i ask what an e-bow is?

  • @HiImJerry8 It's a device that uses an electromagnet to vibrate the strings of the guitar, or in this case, bass. gives you that really nice singing effect.

  • @HiImJerry8 It's a device that uses an electromagnetic field to vibrate the strings constantly, and therefore create an "infinite sustain"

  • wonderful. Thanks. Adhan feels my heart with peace.

  • Wow.

  • Islamic call rattles the human being when heard.

  • What would have been the instrument in ancient times used to make this kind of sound?

  • @Sortsdam The human voice.

  • @Sortsdam

    jesus

  • It sounds more like Aladan than Adhan

  • Beautiful.... His bass and his music. Beautiful :"-)

  • This was in PLANO!!!! FDASHFJAD HEFLJHFKLDJH I"M IN EFFING DENTON!!! GAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

  • IM TO HIGH FOR THIS....EARGASM!

  • pantat mak ko...

  • @MrAyoi92 think you missed a 'b' here, it's 'bassguitar'

  • pantat mak ko

  • Amazing!... Insane! But AMAZING!!

  • Space. I am amazed.

  • FINALLY!!! An e-bow user worth listening to! Fantastic stuff

  • what 7 dipshits hit dislike

  • @987654321ck they are defenite crackheads...can't know what's good

  • this give me chills

  • All of his music sounds like the music that some hyper-advanced race of Martian-Venusian scientists listen to.

  • Incredible piece!!

He's most likely the bass player i admire the most musically speaking, i play woodwinds but his Drastic Measures is a musical masterpiece and his Soliloquy is among the best solo bass music ever.

  • Did he really just sustain those notes for three whole minutes without the use of e-bows? I think so.

  • The last 3 minuets of this video are from another level of creativity.

  • THIS is the reason I want a Sustain Pedal on my 'board... or a Bass with a custom Bass Sustainiac Driver & Bass Trem in it, but that would get pretty expensive.

    Utterly astounding... :O

  • this is so badass

  • 6:51 *COUGH*

  • i have to say this , Michael Manring is one of the best people to ever use the bass guitar...... The adhān (Arabic: أَذَان‎ Azan/Ezan [ʔæˈðæːn]) is the Islamic call to prayer, recited by the muezzin. The root of the word is ʼḏn أَذَن meaning "to permit", and another derivative of this word is uḏun, meaning "ear". source WIKIPEDIA ...

  • I want that E-bow so bad!!!

  • Now I understand where ambient electronic music came from.

  • what da hell !!!

  • I love that he uses all aspects of the instrument to produce music. At the end there when He uses the volume knob to mute the sound, plays the string and then brings in the sound as well as using the detuners while playing. Using the tuners are apart of his playing and not just plucking the strings. Great.

  • mesmerizing

  • GOD THIS IS AMAZING!!!

  • well jesus, you have to be good to make a bass sound like a flute..

  • sounds like some middle-eastern or or partly indian stuff..isnt it?and adhan is the hindi/bengali for the term electric charge....and obviously it is...

  • @syndgr834 adhan is the call to prayer in Islam bro.

  • la musique de l'origine . nous sommes tous des créatures qui na pas toujours été la .

  • Amazing stuff!

  • wish I had him hangin in my living room playing. what an awesome guy for just hangin and playing! Michael Manring is out of this world! Love it!

  • 5:40 - to the end... is just worthy of tears... pure music....

  • Michael Manring is the 11th commandment

  • hi name got it MICHAEL MAN RING. ODE FOR YOU.

  • devine

  • Music of my Soul.

  • Thank you God for bass players like him !

  • @eltorreador66 michael teach god how to play :P

  • This man is more than a genius. Simply amazing stuff.

  • hooray for oriental soundings :D . Michael manring is allways good to listen.

  • I want this EXACT setup, that sounds so much like a native flute

  • There's two... I was there. : )

  • hey besides the ebows, would u know wat other kind of effects hes using?

  • dude .. i'd dare to say some sustainer shit and some reverb? :P

  • actually, an Ebow, Fishman transducers, the fuckin xtenders on his keys for rapidly changing tunings, a bass that costs 120 chinese kids+the complementary lifetime supply of noodles and tiger balm... and of course some epic-level skills:D

  • dude... you are damn right hahahaha if he makes a 6 string bass like that ill sell my mom for it HAHAAHA!!!

  • its probably the most ownage related gear ever... like... he probably doesnt have any relatives left or without some ''spare parts'' removed. i cant imagine the feeling of owning 4*9000$ basses...plus all the extra gear... i could save up for it, and play them just a little bit, n'give them a playful pat, as i die...lol...this guy can cause a new world economic crisis if he sells his gear... exagerating much? i dont really think so

  • @kIwiZaLegEND

HAHAHAHA 120 chinese kids, lifetime supply of noodles and ...HAHAHAHAHA dude that was funny but your right that bass is expensive. the cheapest one is 4000+ dollars

  • @wizman440 I can agree with you, as I saw him too, and he used two eBows there too, what a man, what a nose!

  • @wizman440 u lucky bastered wizmzan

  • @sarsjoolz That's one way to put it, I'm guessing you didn't check his real name... :)

  • He is using two.

  • @culinarydrummer29

Two. One on the "E" string and one on the "G" string.

  • @culinarydrummer29 Yeah, and I own an ebow... That's definitely the width of two.

  • @culinarydrummer29

He regularly uses 2 e-bows for this song, he's a mutant.

  • Just AMAZING...This song was written almost 1400 years ago

and only and only instrument is used to play is (vocal).

There are dozens of varied melodies sung by different vocalists so for and can be heard on Youtube see as "Adhan"

Amazing thing is to improvise this vocal soothing melodious

song into musical instrument's work. I am just shocked how Michael

has improvised the most difficult and complex vocal master piece antient melody into bass guitar expression.

  • 2 E-Bows O_O !!!!!

    your crazy xD !

  • One of the best Manring compositions; almost Blade Runneresque.

  • do you know who he is.....he is the greatest thing to hit the bass guitar EVER....listen to his other work before making a statement like that...

  • I am so glad I found this- he played Adhan yesterday in Alabama and I was freaking out when it wasn't on the CD I just bought! I'm gonna buy all his old ones anyways, so I guess its okay

  • try playing that video and this one overlapped, doesnt sound too out of place.

  • very nice but what does this have to do with the Muslim adhan?

    /watch?v=PV3XCVBpijk

  • foda

  • Your logic confuses many.

  • I think you would sound even more intelligent and elitist if you worded it "Confuses many, your logic does."

  • cannot wait till Sligo next week... if youre Irish, come into the parlour!

  • seeing him in two weeks can't wait!!!!!

  • I got "Thonk" in a used CD bin a bunch of years ago-- my favorite's "Parabolas" but this prompts me to listen to the whole CD over again!

  • He is the Yoda of the bass guitar.

  • @CretunculousSchlunk Damn Yoda, he's like Anakin - he is the Chosen One. And, luckily, he won't ever become Vader :)

  • @CretunculousSchlunk hehe :-) that quite right....he know how to use the force :-) And he use it very, very well

  • @CretunculousSchlunk he really know's how to use the power

  • first time i hear such a use of the harmonic minor scale.

    very nice job mr. manring!

  • I used to listen to this and 'The Enourmous Room' in the dark when it snowed outside and I'd watch it come down. The atmosphere it created was incredible :) Thanks for this.

  • amazing!!!!! O.O

  • This is nothing, you just see this through video and through speakers/headphones, when i saw it live i almost asploded.

  • I fuckin bet man lol

  • This makes the pictures on my wall vibrate with both bass and sheer awesomeness.

  • Does anyone think they know what the chord is from about 6:53 to 7:05?

  • I believe its a C# suspended of some kind

  • Hmm it sounds like ancient stuff from the desserts

  • I think that's the intent. "Adhān" is how you would use Latin characters to spell the Arabic word ذَان , which is the Islamic call to prayer. It is sung by the muezzin in a mosque to call people of that religion to their 5 daily manditory prayers. That's why it sounds like something from the desert to you; the religion of Islam bagan in the arid regions of the Middle East.

  • i really like this piece. very fitting title.

a call to prayer is universal in its nature. we would all do well to remember that.

how small we actually are is often times overthrown by our own self-indulgent, fearful impulses.

a piece like this reminds me that denying myself those destructive impulses often leads to much bigger things.

  • Manring, Flea, Claypool, Chancellor, Caron, Wooten, Jamerson....

Comparing one another is just childish. And I thought the Eighties were over. This isn't about Satriani against Vai anymore. Grow up and appreciate what each brings to the table.

Besides, what he pays for his 'gear' pales in comparison to what classical musicians have. Besides, I'm not even sure he paid for it either! His instrument and himself are one of a kind.

  • @basstard013 well said. Music is love, yet people want to fight on the youtubez .... :(

  • @basstard013 I heard that he mated with a goddess and they created a demi-god bass guitar...but you can't believe all conspiracies.

  • @basstard013 And what about Cliff Burton man !? : o

  • @xmmal well the name of this man is Michael, not Cliff :-P

  • @basstard013

I agree with you in everything you just said. Why can't people appreciate the music Wooten, Miller, Graham, Pastorious gave us instead of ranking them, arguing who's the best ?

They are all briliant ! Enjoy their music !

  • O_o increible

  • sounds like a fucking organ, awesome

  • I m puzzled how a person could not find this awe-inspiring..We're lucky enough to live in the same time as (thus far) the world's greatest and most respected bassist. Maybe if he wore 'guy-liner' and black clothes and cried a bit everyone would enjoy his image before his playing.

  • His tonal palette is just fucking bottomless, isn't it?

  • As well as sideless and topless.

  • dont forget limitless :P

    M.M you rock!

  • Fuck the audience. Bass is art and Michael Manring is fucking PIcasso. You don't understand. Why don't you check Manring's other videos before you drone on about how much he pays for his gear. By the way, if I had you in MY audience, I'd get off the stage and kick you in the head. Multiple times.

  • i agree with you

  • Wicked !

  • wow...!!!!

  • Fascinante o_O!!

  • Oh my... I have nothing to say but ''if played by Michael, bass becomes somethung different''.

Thank you, Michael, for your inspiration !!!

  • MAN RING

  • EBOWS OWN!

  • Utterly spellbinding. I could happily have this on repeat for hours.

Considering deathrape's profile centres around pseudo-soul eastern european pop, he can have some allowance in a bit of an incongruous opinion as far as this goes. Some people think Pete Wentz is a god of bass...I'm sure various health services can help out in both cases.

  • dude pete wentz can so play better music thanmanring.not. some peole think that lamb of god has heel fo a bassist, but the truth is that they alla re mediocre bassists. there's very few musicians that deserve his itle, and manring's one of them

  • you're a whinny bitch aint you...

  • les claypool aint got shit on this guy
