  • I remember listen' to this lil' song on a wind up 'pic-nic' phonograph at my Uncle Henry's when I was a wee lad. What a beautiful voice she had. She sang all those folk songs of the American deep south with such love.....Thanks for posting this!

  • Is this song Public domain now? Cuz I want to use it in one of my movies..

  • I don't think the 1917 release date is accurate. I'm holding a record that has 1904 printed on it labeled I'se Gwine Back to Dixie. Sung by Alma Gluck and male chorus.

  • @TheCrimsonDusk 1904 is the Victor copyright date. According to the Victor archives she recorded this Feb. 15, 1916.

  • Does that say "Coon Song?" HAHA

  • Wonderful! Thank you so much!

  • Another treasure for the ages. Brava!

  • Beautiful song, wouldn't it be great if Alma could have recorded utilizing today's instruments

  • Wonderful,Wonderful,Wonderful,Thank you so much for posting this.
