I remember listen' to this lil' song on a wind up 'pic-nic' phonograph at my Uncle Henry's when I was a wee lad. What a beautiful voice she had. She sang all those folk songs of the American deep south with such love.....Thanks for posting this!
ALMA GLUCK (May 11, 1884 – October 27, 1938) was a Romanian-born American soprano, one of the world's most famous female singers at the peak of her career (circa 1910).
I don't think the 1917 release date is accurate. I'm holding a record that has 1904 printed on it labeled I'se Gwine Back to Dixie. Sung by Alma Gluck and male chorus.
