That Hit camera is pretty small Jane: however, the Japanese made a little bugger that was still available in the late 50's that was about 1/3 as big as the one you showed. It's exposure was automatically controlled by the return spring attached to the shutter. Also it came with 5 rolls of film, 10 pics per roll, B&W only. I'm sure one of your subscribers must have seen one, and maybe even has one. They were so small, it would be easy to lose in the bottom of a catch all drawer. Have a good one!
My Dad's collection from years and years of collecting. I have some more videos showing more of the collections...coming soon! Thanks for subscribing too. :)
Really cute little camera! They actually do make digital cameras that small these days, and to make matters even better; they are made to resemble classic cameras! One of the companies which are legendary when it comes to miniature cameras is MINOX (google this) from Germany. Check their cameras out. They look awesome. (Although image quality is a tad low)
That's a great camera. It would probably cost a lot of money to make a camera like that now, given the manual labor. There'd have to be strict tolerances and precise machining etc that would drive the price way up. Great video.
Yeah, you are right. I guess they would get them make in the East like many of the electronics, clothes and other goods we manage to get for cheap prices. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What a cutie! Nice camera, too! Haha! That is the coolest camera I've ever seen. I love cameras! I actually have TWO!!!!! LOL! NEway, once again a cool vid from you, Jane. I am eagerly awaiting more of your camera vids. Heading for your blog now. cYa! ~Don~
Hello Jane, I haven't commented on your videos for quite some time, but I found something you might be interested in. It's a 1920's Kodak No. 2 Box Brownie camera and it's in perfect condition. I just thought I'd let you know what cameras I've been finding around the house.
That is absolutely the cutest manual camera ever made. I wonder what film size...looks like 110 would fit, though not in a 110 cartridge. (Remember those 110 cameras?)

does the handle just open the shutter? like, you have to expose it "manually"? doesn't it over-expose all the time?
pete275 2 years ago
To be honest with you, i have no idea. It was bought with the film already inside.
If you go to my blog i have 2 links for more information.
