McClain is not slow. For being 254 lbs, he is actually pretty fast. Remember he strung out Jeff Demps and caught him from behind. He looks like he gives no effort? He does need to get his reads right though, that will take coaching and time... However as far as him getting eaten up on the blocks.... He had a down year, but he still is a great player. I think losing so much of the defense from last year and adding on that extra 10 lbs messed him up a little. But he still in a great player. Needs to get better at shedding blockers and working against the run, but he still has first round talent. He was the only defensive player who showed up against Texas.
