  • You can't trick Lucifer you Christian Bitches.Lucifer and his demons will fuck you all

  • @VenomAlexiz You can trick the devil with compassion, forgiveness, and mercy. The devil never expects this!

  • @FatherMatthew First of all he is not called DEVIL.It's one more lie of the christian church. In addition,i'm a luciferian and this is what lucifer teaches us.To be kind and good beings,to be law abiding and,AND!Lucifer loves science whereas "gOD"Doesn't!

  • @VenomAlexiz If the law said to crucify someone, would you do it? And does your Lucifer entreat you to forgive your enemies? For me, the best name for the devil is the hebrew one, "Al -Satan" which means 'the accuser.' If you are accusing and not defending others, Satan is your lord, so to speak. My aim is to forgive, defend, and care for others, as Christ showed God's true nature in this. Peace be with you!

  • @FatherMatthew On the contrary!Satan loves life and we do not participate in blood-ceremonies or sacrifycies of any type! While Christians say Jesus is my savor,Satanists say I AM MY SAVIOR!Cause Satan teaches independence and knowledge and not dependence and ignorance!

  • @ ARCHAELEON: that female priest is the rector of the parish - Fr Matthew is her curate. She's an old bud of mine and used to hear my confession when she was a canon at the Cathedral of St John the Divine.

  • Love you videos! Keep them up Father Matthew!

  • Please when you visit another church don't criticise the other church because you don't understand or even except. If you dont like then dont leave your church.

We have our beliefs and you have yours and leave it at that!

  • Father Matthew, why is there a female priest in your church? I thought femles arne't supposed to be priests?

  • @Archaeleon Episcopalians (the American version of Anglicans) have had female priests for the past 30 years. A solely male priesthood is unreasonably sexist and denies that Christ is all in all.

  • I kinda take issue with the idea that God tricked the devil. This seems ALMOST blasphemous. I say, "almost," because sin is in the intent, and I don't believe the author intended to insult God in any way using the analogy of the fishhook. Even so, trickery implies deceit and the idea casts God in an impure light and defames Him. This is why I don't like it.

  • Wow... U really have to put up with a lot of shit for being a father/priest/rev. Bless you and your patience... Keep on interpreting.

  • ur so great mattew !! i love ur videos , god bless you

  • nothing more adult in believing in an evil imaginary friend you can point to when something upsets you or you make a mistake? the devil made me do it!!

It's black and white! I don't like it, it's evil!

    Devil!!! Hell!! Hades!! Zeus!

  • If Satan can be reconceptualised as a force for evil that is understood in strictly human terms as Matthew claims, or rather - specifically intimates to the audience, THEN WHY CAN'T HIS GOD BE GIVEN THE SAME TREATMENT?! What's good for the goose is good for the gander!

I would appreciate a response from Matthew, as I belive he's begging the question in philosophical terms. appreciate greatly a response from other viewers, if it is not too much to ask from all you fine people out there.

  • Not to say that I don't like you matthew, you're insightful and humorous, I can listen to your religious viewpoints without sighing, and thats a relief I tell's ya!

  • Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will remove the comment promptly.

  • matt- please clarify your position on Satan. Sentient being that externally influences our thoughts and actions or allegory for the intrinsic evil of humans that gives off the allusion of a sentient being?? Which is it?? There is no middle-ground here. I await your reply.. Thanks.

  • The Holy Bible quotes Jesus as saying "Call no one Father but your Father in Heaven." I was raised RC, but I always called them Rev. when I was a child, I knew my father was married to my mother.

  • "Father" is a traditional title used throughout the early church. That verse isn't referring to titles, otherwise the word "father" couldn't be used for your real Dad. Actually it is the use of hyperbole for orienting us to God with humility. The use of the respectful term "father" is used by Paul, Peter, and John in the NT! See 1 Cor. 4:14-15,1 John 2:1314, and Paul called his flock his children 2 Cor. 12:14. Your quote is de-contextualized for anti-catholic purposes, it seems.

  • @bluecollarpastor if you have read the Bible you will notice on the very same page that Jesus also says don't call anybody teacher, I wonder how you handled that as school.

  • matthew, please provide clarity of your position on Satan. I agree with your position on bilibal inerrancy, and I have long been promoting that position. But I need to understand your position on Satan. I think we disagree, but I'm not certain.. Only Human condition or external sentient being that influences human condition?? Need to know. Thanks...

  • okay 3:54 comment "check out my jazz hands" is pure gold. Thank you Mr. Moretz for having a great sense of humor. :D

  • matthew, in your attemp to grab attention, you have totally twisted the truth of the Bible out of shape.

the saddest part is, God will allow perverted hearts to believe you and and your perverted doctrines, and they will all be lost, just like you.

now, don't claim that i am judging you or persecuting you, now! I am warning you of your dangerous doctrines! if you believe those lies then go ahead and perish yourself, but don't drag down poor innocent people with you.

    your pride must go!

  • sth- Lets calm down here. Below I have asked Matthew to clarify his position on Satan. I have not seen a response yet, but I'm certain he will provide more details. This sermon could be misconstrued, that is why I have asked him for clarification. The question is, does Matthew see Satan as sentient being, seperate and distinct from ourselves.. Or does he conceive Satan as just evil personified, meaning the nature of humanity has enough intrinsic evil, and Satan is not real....

  • sthcrox: If I had to choose a religion (god* forbid), I'd go for Mr. Moretz' religious viewpoint over yours anytime.

*p.s. by god I mean Flying Spaghetti Monster

  • surfrosa, hahahahah are yu following him or is it the other way round? not much difference between the two, way i see it!

    bye

  • sthcrox: I'm subscribed to Father Matthew's videos, ergo it's likely to find a few comments of mine in various videos in this channel. Even as an atheist I find Mr. Moretz videos to be clever, fun and informative. Stating that you don't see much difference between his perspective on religion and mine is discourteous to say the least.

  • yur views and his are similar or same. that's why. but hey, yall both out here to deceive, go ahead

  • sthcrox, after readng your comments, its quite the contradction that you can have this as the opening line of your profile... "Love will make us warn others of comng dangers, while Judging will make us damn them", and continue to speak the way you do. So is it safe to say that you are "not" judging, but rather, warning people thru "love"? Quite frankly I think most people wont interpret your thoughts and words as an act of "love". Perhaps you could rephrase your manner of stating your opinions?

  • where is my 'judging'? what did i say that makes me a judge? no, fiend, i'm perfectly ok here! You have a problem with the truth and so does so-called 'fatehr' matthew! Yous are the problem. I don't lad anyone to hell, but the lies in here will lead numerous people to confusion, doubt and eventually to Hell. Now, explain YOUR problem, dude! Or can't you see it? That's what Jesus called HYPOCRISY!

    have a good day, friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ???

  • so God has tricks? say whaaattt?????

what do you call a person who tricks another? a trickster.

now, do you know what i'm getting at? does God have an attribute(s) we are not told of in the Bible?

pastor matthew, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO STOP TWISTING THE TRUTH OF THE BIBLE?????????????????????????????????

    REPENT!

  • Lets be specific now. In your opinion, Is Satan of the OT and NT, and the one that tempted Christ in wilderness for 40 days just an allegory/metaphor for our human condition? Or is Satan a sentient adversarial being that the entire Bible describes?

It sounds to me like you believe in the former... which is an interesting perspective from a priest. If this is the case, I do not share your view. But I do wish to dive deeper into your more secular perspective. Please clarify your position.

  • Fr. Matthew, you seem to be suggesting that Satan is more of an intrinsic, hidden characteristic of man than a sentient being of unimaginable intelligence and talent for deceiving man. If you believe in Jesus Christ, then you must believe in Satan as well, under the name of Lucipher. And oh by the way, there are demons under his service who intend to destroy lives while cloaking themselves in foolish imagery of a red guy with a pointed tail and pitchfork. Satan is anything but a silly cartoon.

  • Well, I guess we disagree on the character of this figure. I hardly said Satan was a silly cartoon. I was arguing for Satan's reality, just not in the "typical" cartoony way. Evil with a life-like quality, is my understanding. And thanks to Philip K. Dick we have to wonder where life and life-like begins and ends.

  • Yes, if you're going to have a God, there has to be a devil.

  • Where's Jehosephat?

  • That's the same thing the two year olds ask on Sunday!

  • Jehosephat is cool dude.

  • Nice Father. Good to hear you preach. Great intro too.
