  • Pain in the ass? I guess he fell on a cyclist in the past and it somehow receded into his big fat portly ass, hence the pain.

  • Unbelievable... This guy is a disgrace to the city of Toronto. How did this person ever get elected? It makes me really appreciate our bike-friendly mayor in Chicago

  • This guy is a PIG, he should get in a bike to live a few more years. Say hello to Mr. Heartattack selfish PIG

  • the only reason rob ford hates bicycles is because when he tries to sit on one he gets violated by the seat

  • He feels passionately about what he's saying and the people shouting at him are acting even more immaturely.

  • It's a lot easier to call someone fat than to become mayor of a major city.

  • He's comparing the inner city with suburban Metro. The two are incompatible. De amalgamation is the only way the inner city will be able to fend itself from people like him. I may sound futile saying this, but we have to start somewhere. Otherwise this is just going to keep happening again and again, with the outer regions inflicting the Mike Harrises of the world on us. Eventually we'll do something, and I look forward to when that time will come..

  • His belt looks like it's gonna give way any moment! LOL!

  • If there were dedicated bike lanes in the City of Toronto, I would take my bike anywhere. As both a cyclist and and a car driver, cyclist SHOULD NEVER share a road with a motor vehicle. Let's be honest, anytime you drive and there's a cyclist on the road, you ALWAYS have to switch lanes cause you don't want any accidents to occur. Either get dedicated bike lanes in the city or make cyclist get licenses and pay for insurance

  • Maybe if he used a bike he wouldn't be so....rotund.

  • As much as I may dislike Mr. Rob Ford, I completely agree with him on this one! You have cyclists driving to the side of roads not marked as a bike lane. A majority of the time you have to drive around them. This slows down traffic. Half of them don't signal or obey traffic lights and other signals. This causes accidents. Sometimes I have absolutely no sympathy for these cyclists who abuse their power on the roads and are unwilling to share it.

  • i say let em ride..theres tons of concrete in the city. but spending our tax dollars to benefit members of the community who probably work in coffee shops and retails stores is ridiculous..i work in a skilled trade and the amount of money i see go to the government every year is disgusting especially with overtime..and i still pay money at tax time..i think people are scared of ford, but i like him. ask another 55+hour tradesperson what they think..theres lots of us trust me

  • @elmtreeroad Given the level of social intelligence displayed here, one would suggest you are still vastly overpaid - even with the taxes you are paying. Did you know that Toronto's street infrastructure is funded through local property tax and not through the income taxes you are whining about?

  • @HOOFandCYCLE lol ur a bike courier i passed your level of intelligence around 5 with my first supercycle..grow a set man instead of expecting a 4000lbs hunk of steel to have to give you the rigth away. ive shreded on the streets of toronto with my kona hardtail its not that hard.

  • Not sure what is worse, the lead in the arse or the shit in the head. Humpty Dumpty would have better arguments than this bloke.

  • its a city, and things aren't that far away from each other. Its not a highway, why not use a bike?

  • motorists are a pain in the arse to cyclists...

  • @Maccaism And sadly, too often a deadly one as well.

  • You are a slob! and a boor!!

  • "I will retract the word ass" LMAO that was funny gotta give him that

  • Wow - He must be really poplular....in a negitive way...

Maybe that law maker should learn the laws...

  • LOL "I will retract the word ass".

  • ugh. why us. toronto is a great city, but sometimes i'm ashamed to live there because of this slob...

  • rob ford does not have courier friends.... they would beat his ass for using the "scoot"

  • Reverse the amalgamation. That would solve most of the political problems we are now experiencing. Etobicoke, Scarborough, and North York can keep your cars and your Rob Ford, and Toronto can implement a set of toll roads, bike infrastructure, and keep our city out of the clutches of the unthinking masses.

  • @mkaram99 More like keep it as it is, so us North York people can keep ur socialist (David Miller loving) asses in check!

  • Take the green space and widen the sidewalks??? Does this guy listen to what he is saying?

  • I'm one of those Etobicoke drivers he talks about, and I think the war on cars should continue. There should be a toll charged to drive your car downtown like London. That being said, cyclist complain, but they are no lambs. I've almost been hit several times as a pedestrian by cyclists ignoring traffic signals.

  • This guy says he wants to save us money? How much money would it take to widen the sidewalks, as opposed to putting a little paint on the road and educating drivers and riders to share what is not rightfully theirs in the first place? De-amalgamate Toronto now. People that live in the Eastern most tip of Scarborough have no business voting on what happens in the downtown core. Two separate worlds. We would not have to endure this idiot if it were not for homeowners from the suburbs.

  • What a great solution!!!!!! We'll just widen every single sidewalk in the city of Toronto! What a fantastic idea!

  • @DesBlackmore the only time a cyclist is bound by law to hug the curb is when there is a painted bike path designated. any other time the cyclist is legally entitled to take an entire lane. it is this way for the safety of the cyclist.

i will respect cars when they learn the road rules.

  • @MrTwopenguins What an ignorant thing to say. Sure you can ride on the road; motorists don't mind if you stay in the right lane where you're supposed to ride, but too many times bikers feel like they are entitled to any lane they like and zig-zag between cars. We motorists try to be patient but if you get hit, we'll just go around you like we always do.

  • Another moron brought to you because of dumbass Canadian conservatives aka northern tea baggers.

  • Vete a la Verga Gordo estupido....

  • did you hear the speaker scolding the chairwoman for chirping Ford? hahahah that was awesome.

  • What an idiot, Cologne, Germany has sidewalks like the ones he's talking about and pedestrians don't give a shit about cyclists. They still walk on the bike lane and I can't explain how many times I almost hit someone on my bike while I was there. No matter what you do, someone is going to be seriously hurt. Whether its cars hitting cyclists, or cyclists hitting pedestrians.

  • lol look at that fat piece of shit.

yea we cyclists are really doing the world a disservice aren't we?

  • i forgot where the article i found this from but a cyclist actually pays too much for the roads that they ride compared to the motorists who drive pick up trucks due to the all the damages and repairs that the city has to pay for.

  • never seen or heard of this guy but he's right...

    ~a cyclist

  • Not everyone own a car nor drive, you moron. Such an ignorant pig!

  • Ford is a fucking idiot but I agree with this.

  • @jordach545 Some cyclists are a pain in the ass, but so are some motorists. If you agree with Ford, and Ford is a "fucking idiot", what does that make you?

  • @7:19 LOL!

  • @cheeriosinabowl I and many others ride all year. Some winter days it is not advisable, but its often not too smart to drive then either.

And yes it is up to you and I and all of us to avoid accidents. You avail yourself of the privilege of driving a dangerous, dirty machine in a densely populated urban setting and you assume responsibility for not harming others.

  • @HOOFandCYCLE Do you eat meat?

  • @Jamespot24 I have AVOIDED meat to varying degrees over the past 40 years. Despite the inability to resist the occasional Rueben sandwich, I still aspire to veganism. - scunny

  • @HOOFandCYCLE Just asking as raising cattle creates more greenhouse gases than cars.

  • @Jamespot24 Yeah, I generally avoid meat with the same passion I avoid travel. Never flown in a plane, never had an air conditioner, never even applied for a drivers' license learner's permit. You don't rely on what you've never had, eh? I don't expect anyone to necessarily live the way I've chosen to, but I do think folks might be a little more aware of the unnecessary damage they do and try to mitigate that with alternative forms of transportation wherever a more efficient option is available.

  • @HOOFandCYCLE No air conditioning. How did u survive that day when it was 38? Cold showers and lots of ice? I guess if thats how u want to live thats good for you.

  • @HOOFandCYCLE Maybe if you quit riding in the middle of CAR lanes and I'll repeat that again; CAR LANES, this would decrease the amount of negativity most people have against cyclists. You give cyclists the ''right'' to ride on public motor vehicle roads but who ends up abusing their power? You wouldn't believe how many cyclists I have to drive around cause they simply can't say enough to the right of the road and how many go through stops and reds! You being a cyclist, lead by example!!NRN

  • Comment removed

  • @ricciryanify One would think that you might want to actually know something about a subject before speaking out on it publicly. It is inane, illogical, uninformed statements like yours that underscore the need for a complete overhaul of our transportation system. One suggests you read up on the existing traffic laws as they relate to cycling. It is sadly astounding that you have been given a license to enjoy the privilege of operating a motor vehicle on our public thoroughfares.

  • @cheeriosinabowl Are you sure your attitude is alright for driving any vehicle on the road? Maybe you try to ride a bike for a week to enter the same world and maybe things seem very different once you sit on a bike without a lot of horse power and metal around you. Give it a try yo might even like it a lot and wish it would be summer forever :-))

  • @cheeriosinabowl Clearly the ability to speak/type does not make one intelligent. The majority of accidents involve inconsiderate, stupid, unattentive and reckless DRIVERS and usually 1/4mile from home. Last year I was involved in an accident my Bike vs big nice Crysler 300. I was on the side walk, Buddy was turning out of Tim Hortons (looking 1 direction and driving another) Clearly look both ways only applies to people who are walking and riding our pain in the ass 2-wheeled "toys"

  • @aragorn00148

... the 1st sentence of your post was an unprovoked insult. So, I just dismissed and ignored the rest of your "story" because of that. Gooodbye.

  • @aragorn00148 I know what you mean! I have been nearly hit so many times when trying to cross the street (while walking actually) because some jerk tries to turn right as soon as the light turns green without checking for pedestrians.

  • @cheeriosinabowl wow you're an idiot. you're in a CAR! a bike belongs on the road just as much as a car. as a matter of fact, horses have more right of way than your car. idiot CAR drivers choose to drive in the snow...have you seen the accident statistics for winter? guess who is wrecking? it's not cyclists, it's idiot drivers....

  • @beerob81

... as per your profile, you are 58 years old ????!!!! You sound like a 14 year old. Your post to me is ridiculous and insulting. Time for you to grow up, if possible. Goodbye

  • @cheeriosinabowl You sir are a Goof. 2 wheeled toys what are u 4 there good for the enviornment and good for the people riding them ignorant cunt. i cant wait till all the snow comes and the roads get slippery so u have a niceeeee accident.

  • @kr00ked

... wow, what brilliant comment from you! You must be a ray of sunshine to everyone who has the honour of meeting in person. Maybe by the time you get to be 10 years old, you will have matured just a little. Till then, take a hike loser!

  • Toronto does need to have strict laws for cyclists....and they should have insurance maybe even licensed.....however ford should be made to bike everyday to and from work to set a better example and lose his fat ass.

  • @PrismaMD Clearly bikes should obey the law. That said - why is it that you rail against cyclists only? Cars running stops, lights, not signaling, that's okay? Only cyclists are the "idiots"? (aside - I wonder which group injures/kills more people annually - cars or bikes?) As biking year-round... do you even go downtown in the winter? I have been biking to work year-round for 12+ years... and I see plenty of other bikes on the road throughout the winter. Wow. Talk about needing to "wake up".

  • Anyone who runs a red is an idiot and deserves a ticket....i think we can all agree on that one. Pretty hard to make a case for it unless your being chased by a Godzilla like creature....

No need to make up numbers to prove any opinion unless you have some sort of statistical evidence to cite.

  • @PrismaMD Please keep commenting, sir/madam. You succinctly illustrate the problem cyclists face daily from the less intelligent, aggressive road users out there.

Thanks to both you and Mayor Rob for making our case for us.

  • @HOOFandCYCLE What problem is succinctly illustrated? You didn't respond to his criticism at all. Cyclists do ignore the rules of the road, pretty much as a "rule". It's frustrating.

  • @whatevyouknow The problem is simple. Cyclists are being villified en masse for the scofflaw behaviour of some. Let anyone who identifies him or herself as a "motorist", who has NEVER exceeded the posted speed limit, do the complaining about cyclists. The rest should concentrate first on improving their own on-road performance. Blaming cyclists for TORONTO's mobility crisis is delusion. All cyclists - including the majority who do try to follow the rules - suffer from such blanket defamation.

  • @HOOFandCYCLE I think we can agree there is a big difference between exceeding the speed limit by 10- 20 % and running a red light.

  • @whatevyouknow So you are the arbiter of which laws should be followed and which should not. Take a look at the fatality rates for our more vulnerable road users when hit by motor vehicles traveling at the elevated speeds you mention.

  • @HOOFandCYCLE What is wrong with you? The point is, just because a motorist may exceed the speed limit, that doesn't compare in terms of risk to running a red light.

  • @whatevyouknow Really? Who tells you this stuff?

  • Comment removed

  • lol @ toronto

  • ... and there's alot of ass to be a pain in there, lmao

  • I like him and i'm a liberal.

  • Licensing would help fund separate bike lanes/paths/routes throughout the city. A License would also give the city something to withhold if bicyclists don't pay their tickets. (for you know... for going through a red light.. or say.. texting whilst on a bike.. at night.. with no helmet or lights... yeah, I've seen that a few times)

  • Oh, and how could a individual like him become the Mayor??? And when is the next election you say?

  • I really can't understand, why don't they look to Europe, Netherlands, Germany and stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Also in my opinion he got an attitude problem and a total wrong image about car drivers and Bike riders. Some one who hates the other and jeopardize live hasn't got the character properties to be on the road with any vehicle.

  • @DirkME1022

... we are NOT Europe and never will be, so stop looking at Europe for solutions. Their mindset and politics are way different than ours. Car is still king here, there it's less so. And their public transportation is far far more efficient than our dinosaurean system.

  • @cheeriosinabowl If you want to be where others are already, why not use them as role model? Netherlands is almost perfect for all kind of traffic included bike riders :-))

  • @DirkME1022

one point, we are NOT the Netherlands. Things are just different here. I could go on about it, but ...

  • I think Ford is a pretty cool guy. eh kills bike lanes and doesn't afraid of anything.

  • "There's this huge anymosity between".....ME and the IDIOT Mayor of my city!!!!

    God help us all.

  • Torontonians will soon pay the price for electing an ignorant and anti-environment person like Rob Ford as the city's mayor.

In fact, he is planning to get rid of some bike lanes on Toronto's major streets like Jarvis Street.

Lessons learned Torontonians, "Garbage in, garbage out".

  • Motorists that drive too fast, those that do not obey the laws, and drive recklessly are just as much (if not more) of a pain in the ass to other drivers than crazy cyclists are. There are crazy cyclists out there, but there are way more shitty drivers. FORD: bring on the cyclist license it is irrelevant to your argument - people with licenses drive or ride how they want - if you respect others you minimize accidents. I would be happy to pay money to the city if it meant more traffic enforcement

  • @18Rustynails - I agree with Rusty - scunny

  • @18Rustynails 90% of cyclists are assholes. The number is far lower for motorists.

  • Comment removed

  • Canada has wide roads. Seriously, narrow the lanes a bit and put in separate bike lanes already.

  • If anyone needs to hop on a bike it would be rob ford. I don't really think he has the right to say that cyclists are a pain in the ass to motorists.......

  • I know a guy that rides his bike from downtown to Mississauga every day to go to work. Why doesn't Rob Ford try that from Etobicoke?

  • This guy is seriously Toronto's mayor?? Wow.. Dislike that!

  • @omonoyama2001 yup, its really an embarrassment to toronto. such a great city, and such an airhead has taken charge...

  • Yes, cyclists ARE a pain in the ass. I am a motorist and have seen so many stupid, selfish cylcists riding their bikes in the middle of the car lane. For cryin' out loud, move over to the shoulder, you cyclists!

Cyclists do NOT own the road. I believe cyclists should have to pass a road test and get a license just like motorists. That would solve SOME of the problem.

    Have a fun day, populace.

  • @cheeriosinabowl I agree 100%....to me this is the biggest problem...cyclists operate a vehicle on the road and do not have a full understanding of all traffic laws, this needs to be corrected and a road-communter cyclist license is the answer for sure!

  • @jalisty

... thank you for your answer! Most people think I am crazy when I say a license is needed for cyclists.

  • Rob Ford is the best thing to happen to Toronto in decades!

  • Rob Ford needs to retract his fat ass from Toronto.

    Maybe move him to Calgary

  • @1UTUBEUSERNAME

Oh God no. We finally elected a respectable, honest and intelligent person as mayor here. Why don't you bite the bullet and keep this fatass redneck for a few years? We have enough far-right lunatics in Calgary- you keep this one.

  • You're a fat slob with a big belly.

  • Ford brings up the difference in priorities between the suburbs and downtown TO...which really highlights what a disastrous decision and utter failure it was when Mike Harris forced amalgamation on Toronto.

Harris, the gift that keeps on giving.

  • I think Rob Ford was making a bit of sense in this video and I am an everyday cyclist thats been living in Toronto all my life. I think in some places it would be hard to do this like Queen Street as it is already very tight, even on the sidewalk. On Bloor, however, this could be a good idea to have a separated lane (maybe like how Montreal has it).

I also agree with another users comments when they say there is alot of useless ugly looking landscape along Bloor.

  • I would be surprised if even a single physically separated bike lane is built in the next few years. But it would be a pleasant surprise :)

  • So true... he does a big belly and I would love to tickle it.

  • Just one more thing. I also love to ride a bike. Take a trip up to Albion Hills and

you can ride as hard as you want. Please just be more aware of the rules and

    ride to stay alive.

  • As a professional driver, I drive in the city approximately 9 hours a day.

I am required to follow all the rules of the Highway Traffic Act. I see

cyclist who follow no rules. I can honestly say that 98% of all riders

ride as if they own the road. If they want to share the road start paying

for insurance and get a license. When their insurance goes up every time

they make a violation against the HWY Traffic Act, then maybe they will

start to ride more like a professional.

  • @greatwhitegsx Thanks for weighing in here.

As a professional non-driver, I would ask you to consider the reverse perspective. Many cyclists break the rules of the road, agreed. There are many reasons for this but let's look at the other side of the coin. Have you as a "professional driver" ever exceeded a posted speed limit or parked illegally?

If not, we all applaud you. If so, you might first want to perfect your own act before pointing fingers. ( :-)

  • I was waiting for the first question, thank you. Yes I have and the results were as follows:

ticket for 15 km over 80 km. Paid the ticket

Work does random checks so I came forward and told them that I received the ticket in my own car.

Was suspended from driving company vehicle for 6 months at a cost of $4,000. Had to work midnights

    in processing department.

My personal insurance went up by 500.00 for the year. Yes even with just one ticket .

We must all play by the same rules. Cheers.

  • @greatwhitegsx Have you ever exceeded the speed limit by even one km/h without being ticketed? How about parking where you contravene the rules, even for a minute?

  • @Scunyun

Okay, contravene, now this is getting silly. I am not against cyclist, if you read my first two paragraphs you

would see that. You want to ride on the roads, then you play by the same rules. That is the best way I

can say it. I ride a bike and a GSX R 1000 that can break any posted speed limit in first gear. I am constantly

being pulled over by the police to see if I am insured. I get it and I just let them do what they have to do,

Driving on the road is a privilege not a right.

  • LOL,YOU FKING IDIOTS IN TORONTO PUT THAT LOSER IN OFFICE LOL AND HIS BROTHER LOL IM PREDICTING HE WILL BE DEAD OF A HEART ATTACK BEFORE THE END OF HIS TERM. REST IN PEACE YOU PRICK, YOU DRUNKING BASTARD, YOUR MOTHERS CUNT.

  • THE FAT FUCK SPEAKS THE TRUTH

  • PAIN IN THE ASS. THIS FAT F@#$ IS GOING TO BE GETTIN HATE MAIL.

  • This guy is ridiculous. I don't know if councillors are laughing at him or with him? He's not making any sense. Sigh.

  • he is only upset because he is a fat ass.

  • Canada just got 5 bad ass points

  • Rod Ford is the man! He speaks from the heart. He is and always will be the best choice for Mayor.

  • The new Gunningsville Bridge (and Riverfront Park) over here in Moncton features a long, shared sidewalk for cyclists and pedestrians. Works fine here. And I understand that Toronto and Moncton are two cities of very differing calibres, but the point remains that it's doable.

  • Mr Ford has very little knowledge on the issue of cycling in Toronto. By the time he gets on a bike, it will probably collapse in less than 2 seconds

  • who voted for this fuck?

  • Ford must die! He is an evil racist homophobe nazi

  • Anywhere in the world, cyclists and motorists respect each other. Cyclist ride to the front and ride off when the light turns green, motorists just simply respect that fact. North Americans motorists are rude and selfish when it comes to sharing the road. They can't even share the road with other motorists. So the problem is not cyclists it's North American bad driving! Lack of respect for anyone else on the road...they being trucks, other cars or cyclists!

  • @denislar2002 not so much man, i live and drive in Toronto, Cyclists block me all the time while driving when trying to make a right turn on the red they go right to the end of the sidewalk blocking you, i have even had one making a left blocking me from making a right they stayed in middle of road. A cyclist hit the side mirror of my moms car when she was stopped on a red light he started screaming at her. Motorists hate them cause their shitheads who try and own the road.

  • @denislar2002 Bicyclists in Toronto are extremely aggressive and reckless in the way they operate their vehicles. Cutting between lanes, running lights, riding too close to moving motor vehicles. So I don't accept this assessment at all. Maybe in general terms you have a point, but not in Toronto.

  • @snowstormcan

Speaking as a cyclist AND a pedestrian, motorists can be just as bad. But unlike you, I won't lump them all into the same category because of SOME giving the rest a bad name.

Sure, there are times that I've run into fellow overly aggressive cyclists, but I've had my fair share of polite ones, too. In the same vein, I've tried to properly corss the street several times and a right-turning car has nearly run me over.

  • IS THIS WHAT TORONTO WANT AS A MAYOR?!?!?!

  • Guys give him a break. He's just a little bitter because he's too fat to ride a bike.

  • What a whinging old prick!

  • stupid ass citizens will walk on the bike lane if its beside the sidewalk. GARENTEED!

    Especially with groups of people

Bike lanes need to be slightly bigger...cause dumb ass drivers keep crossing the white line and killin people.

  • Isn't the problem that cyclist get killed/hurt real bad when they are on the road with cars... as is the case most often... we need more bike lanes to separate good citizens on bikes from the real danger of motorists. As I drive my car I notice there is a bike lane and then the next time you look there isn't.

  • how come I never see the mayor chairing these meetings? where is all of council and why are so many councillors missing?

  • $6 million of what I assume is finances for cycling infrastructure dedicated to road repair? What about the $180 million per year that already goes to towards that?

Better cycling infrastructure will lead to a greater number of cyclists which will lead to safer roads. It's all been done before.

  • complain about traffic, then complain about cyclists, which significantly ease congestion as a whole, every day. Sure getting stuck behind my gorgeous butt is slightly annoying, but every car in a traffic jam contributes to about 10 seconds of standstill. 10,000 cars less, no traffic ever. pain in the ass? start living in the twenty first century.

  • The solution is more people riding their bikes. I have a car but choose to ride. I am a cyclist for 30 yrs. there is no anomisity between cyclist and motorist.

  • At 1:37 he admits that if he lived dt, he'd be with the cyclists, and that you don't need a car dt. So even though he can see the validity of the cyclists POV, he disregards it because they are a minor inconvenience for himself and others motorists (who don't even live here). And why? Because cyclists and motorists don't get along (as if motorists get along with each other?) and theres a (fictional)war on cars (evidenced by stop-signs and speed-bumps?). Grow up and learn to co-exist.

  • So basically what he's saying he's gonna cut out all of our cheif sources of recreation until we're all fat and miserable like him?

  • What a cretin

  • If there is a problem over there, here is my guidance.

Step one - read David Byrne's 'Cycle Diaries'

Step two - come to a balanced conclusion based on your own experience of riding a bike (not driving a car)

I believe bikes have to be on the road, cycling across Europe this summer where they segregate cyclists to the pavement means journeys take far longer and you are always stopping and starting at junctions. Bike lanes on roads are needed! nothing else.

  • I guess the last time he rode a bicycle is roughly the last time he could see his own toes.

  • The guy looks like a heart attack waiting to happen, he should start commuting by bike it would do him good.

He surely must realize that cyclists were using the roads before cars were even invented.

  • I can't believe you voted for THIS, Toronto. I'm so sorry for your future losses.

  • u guys hear a cyclist got hit by a freight train today in scarborough? she died,

wonder whos fault it was, probly the engineer driving the train.

  • Rob Ford is brilliant.

  • This is nothing more then a rant. Now I think Toronto is fuct.

  • Rob Ford winning a landslide means Torontonians are so fed up with PC nonsense and multiculturalism, they'll put a complete crazy person, knowing full well he's crazy, in to office. Seriously, Tamils blocking the gardner?

You have NO IDEA how much of a PAIN cyclists are in Toronto till u have to drive with them. They don't even follow the rules of the road - they cut people off, they wait in right lanes on red. Some of the real asswipes take up a whole lane and won't let cars pass. Fuck Bikes

  • @CiPhEr505 I've been biking for a few months after driving for here for years. I agree that some bikers are stupid, don't know the rules of the road, and are inconsiderate. On the other hand, there are also vehicles that are stupid, break the rules, and are inconsiderate. Conclusion: There are idiots on both sides and if these people were to smarten up a lot of the problems would go away. Ford is not the solution, as any sane person can see from his "speech" here.

  • @radoian No, he is definitely the solution to bike lanes, because he doesn't care about how it will look in the papers, he isn't interested in supporting a 'party', or pandering to minorities, or being politically correct.

He simply does not give a fuck. The last CDN politician to not give a fuck was Trudeau, and people loved him. Worst economic policies of all time, we paid for his blunders for 30 years. But he did not give a fuck, and it was great.

Besides, his brother Doug pulls the strings

  • Paula Fletcher in the background is saying to Ford: "no it's because of you"....and she is laughing.....she is implying that the cyclists are flipping the bird to Ford and that there is no problem, which there is.

Stupid Fletcher, I don't know how she was re-elected.

  • Rob Ford is right - on certain streets his plan will work to reallocate wide sidewalks to give safer riding space for cyclists. Bicycles are public transportation and as much as Rob seemed to have little empathy in the other video regarding cyclists - in this video he actually speaks passionately for cyclists. I'd encourage the mayor to travel along Bloor and Danforth and check out all the horrible concrete flower structures that won't have flowers in them four or five months of the year.

  • CYCLISTS ARE A FUCKING PAIN IN THE ASS. I'LL RUN ONE OVER JUST TO PROVE HIM RIGHT TOO. WATCH ME TOMORROW. IT WILL BE A POLITICAL STATEMENT TO CELEBRATE HIS VICTORY.

  • holy shit rob ford is actually right on this one :D

  • This man clearly has no idea what he's talking about from transport planning to urban planning, to cycling. Get him on a bike!

  • Ford is making sense. There is a movement of cyclists who would like to see the Bloor / Danforth strip made less perilous for bikes. Look at all the many massive UGLY concrete flower structures along this route that only have flower in them eight months of the year. It would not cost millions to do what Ford is suggesting along much of Bloor and Danforth if they simply get rid of all those concrete flower structures. Put up street lights that arch over the street and more hanging baskets.

  • smitherman is a queer!!

him n his husband ride their bikes without the seats!!

  • Can you really believe he wants to widen sidewalks keeping pedestrians on one side and bikes on the other? Is this guy into the weed or what? Bikes and cars have been hogging the road for about 120 years now. If you live in a big city like Toronto and you chose to ride a bicycle in the downtown then you have a problem don't you?

If people want to ride their bikes go live in the country or ride your bike in an appropriate area. People drive cars. People commute from other places.

  • man, that's a bad idea... keep the bikes on the road. this guy obviously has never seen a person get hit by a bike going 30 km/h, they fucking hurt.

sideWALKS are to walk on, roads are for vehicles, there would be more accidents the ways he wants it.

at the same time, i think alot of people are afraid to ride their bikes because they have to ride so close to cars, in which case his solution would bring alot of people out of their cars on to bikes.

  • What a classless piece of shit this obese man is.

  • it sounds like he supports separated bike lanes!
