  • OMG it's slumming supastar Neal Sims in the last (and hopefully final) time he worked! That toad I mean man has star written all over him! Poor Little Neal Twoshoes, 50+, thinking he's Mario Cantone just without the talent. ROTF LMFAO.

  • LindaAnn Loschiavo has captured the spirit and fire of Mae West. I wish I had been one of the lucky people to have seen this production when it was originally mounted. I understand there is a Courting Mae West Comic Book. Are copies still available?

  • Many thanks for giving a brief glimpse of this interesting show , though I have to say I found it a little difficult to hear all the dialogu - this would make for a good TV play for BBC America or HBO!!

Wish I'd had a chance to see it , maybe it might be a good play to bring to the Edinburgh Festival? I was appalled that Mae West wasn't featured in the Jewish Entertainers exhibition at the New York Jewish Museum three years back. Perhaps it was because she didn't embrace her Judaism?

  • Great Fun! I'd love to see more of it. Yvonne Sayers is mesmerizing in her role as Mae West.

  • I loved it !! Give us more !!

  • Thanks for letting us view this scene. I agree with nonbreeder, this should come to L.A. After all, L.A. was Mae's home for a very long time.

  • Excellant script, but I expected nothing less from Ms.Loschiavo. The actors were believeable and entertaining. Bravo!

  • I saw "COURTING MAE WEST" at the Algonquin Theatre (NYC) on July 22nd, 2008 and there was a FULL HOUSE for this wonderful show! The play is excellent - - - compelling, well-researched, and poignant as well as hilarious. The one-liners are fresh and sound exactly like Mae West. Yvonne Sayers was perfect for the role - - a strong and convincing presence onstage. The playwright LindaAnn Loschiavo wrote ALL THE LINES for MAE WEST and captured the Brooklyn bombshell to a T. Happy to see this!

  • This play is well written, I totally enjoyed it. I loved seeing another side of Mae West Pre-Hollywood. How she endured the struggles a woman way ahead of her times. The line I like the most was everytime she said "I don't do VICTIM".

Yvonne Sayers was great in the role of Mae West, she looks like her and she sounds like her. She really took on the persona. This was an enjoyable evening for me and my friends.

Hope to see this on Broadway one day.

  • This clip has a very authentic feel. I gope it comes to L.A.! That would be great. The Mae West pre-Hollywood era was great fun and very interesting. It appears that there was never a moments rest in her ambition!

  • Thanks for posting and giving us a peek at this play.

Looks like it Yvonne Sayers does a good job with Mae's voice but perhaps better with a little less over-the-top screaming.
