  • I should ask Mr. Shepard where I ought to buy my Chanukah gifts. Should I avoid every single store that plays Christmas music throughout the winter season? I think my family would be pretty disappointed. Shalom, Stuart!

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! That is how you say it! MY Jewish friend even says it to me!

  • Other people may not get this, but I do. I am tired of religion being treated as a bad thing, something that is offensive to others. When did that happen? I think he has a great point. Merry Tossmas!

  • Excellent video! Thanks! Merry Christmas!

  • I don't get it. I go to my grocery store for eggs not religion. I buy my socks at Target. I don't go looking for enlightenment there. I just don't get it. Is he upset because organizations other than religions are profiting from religious observances?

  • Not at all, I think it has a lot more to do with treating us like we are "offensive" while sticking their hands in our pockets. The retailers are the ones that are making a religious statement here.

  • No, he's upset because he doesn't get special recognition. I think he needs to come down off his high horse and quit pretending that just because his holiday is popular, it's more important than any other observance in the month of December.

  • I think multiculturalism is a great thing. Retailers want everybody's money.

I could be wrong (I often am), but isn't Christmas a holiday born of pagan celebration mixed with transference from Roman Catholics?

America has been moving away from the religious aspect of the holiday anyways. The more people say Christmas the more it associates the birth of Christ with consumerism. What's worse not saying the word? Or the word having no meaning? I don't know...

  • Feliz Navitoss was funny, I have to admit.

However, what Stuart doesn't quite understand is that it is not about the retailers wanting to avoid offending people. It is about those retailers wanting to INCLUDE more people.

Being INCLUSIVE of all other holidays is being INCLUSIVE of Christmas. But some people just don't get that.

  • That doesn't make much sense. If retailers wanted to include the minority who doesn't celebrate Christmas (I believe you meet one person out of every ten), then can't they just mention that there's sales or clearances going on? It's just like Britain, they don't want to offend minorities.

  • LOL MERRY TOSSMAS!!!! lol but for real, Merry Christmas!

  • Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Linksmu Kaleidu!!!!

  • LAWL he has really bad aim XD (look at the end)

  • Newsflash: Christmas isn't the only holiday celebrated in the holiday season.

Thanksgiving, Hanukka, Kwanzaa, Yule, the Winter Solstice, sometimes Ramadan, and don't forget New Year's eve!

By saying only Merry Christmas, it leaves the others out, and caters to only those who celebrate Christmas. By saying Happy Holidays, the markets are addressing everyone, and no one feels left out.

  • Though I agree with you, I think that he is saying that, by trying to acknowledge all of the holidays, they are indirecty giving their approval to all of the religions that gave birth to these holidays.

How is that incorrect? There is only one God.

  • I am often amazed at the insight and creativity of some people. This video was great!

  • Behold the Power of the Name of Jesus the Christ! Simply the mention of it causes demons to shudder - as well as those people led by them.

  • I am now going to surf retailers websites & leave a Merry Tossmass comment on those celebrating the "Holidays" & wishing people "Season's Greetings" If we all do this maybe they will get the message. Hit them were it hurts...in their pockets!

  • Stewart you are so right! I will remember this video when I decide where to shop this CHRISTMAS! I will now be celebrating TOSSMASS from now on! Thanks again!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS! Sue

  • One way to reinforce the point is to email the company and wish them a Merry Tossmas. That'll get the marketing staff thinking! ;-)

  • I just love this video. We need to stand up for what we believe or we'll lose it all.

  • You know it seems to me that all of the conservative Christians (who like to spout that we left-wing liberal tree hugging granola eaters seem to get offended over the smallest thing) seem to be getting their feathers ruffled over just one tiny word. I mean for someone to go out of their way to make an entire video over something as trivial as a word. Hmm and we're irrational and easily offended.

  • In reply to "alaaddie" from four months ago: what one word are we talking about, and does disregarding that one word also disregard the ideals behind such a jumble of letters?

In this case the word in question isn't just the correct title of our holiday, but it is the reason for the holiday in the first place.

Is Henry Ford really associated with Ford Motor Company?

    Merry Christmas!

  • As one of those conservative Christians, let me say my feathers are not ruffled at all. I'm not calling these retailers the instruments of satan or anything. I'm just going with companies that know how to do a proper sales pitch and build rapport. It's obvious that the maker of this video is having a blast doing this. So no ruffled feathers. Sounds like a case of projection to me. :)

  • You make his point 100 fold. Why deny the traditional name? Its just a "word", right?

  • Shows you that everyone has feelings, doesn't it? We get offended too! We bible-beating hateful people (which liberals like to spout out) just want Christmas to actually be recognized by the big companies just like most other Americans do.

  • We all should throw away those holiday books! Great idea! Merry Christmas

  • AWSOME!! i also dont even open those catalogs with NON-SPECIFY holiday

  • amen...maybe some of the pc higher ups will get the message for next year. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  • this is an awesome video...sure gets the message across!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ya its so dumb for things to say holiday instead of Christmas, like "Check out Macy's Holiday Sale!" It even showed a christmas hat on that commercial!

  • OMG I love that.

Not to mention, he made a very good point there

  • Amen.

  • Feliz Navi-toss!!! HA HA!

  • Wow, that was a good laugh... my stomach hurts now though... oh well... merry tossmas everybody!

  • Genius, pure genius.

Merry mass of which that is in honor of Jesus Christ's birth to one and all.

  • I love it! I've been tossing those magazines before I ever saw this! I feel exactly the same way! Merry Christmas!

  • What we all should be is mail catologs back to them, but first, using a big black marker, cross out happy holidays and write in Merry CHRISTmas. Eventually they'll get the message. This country was founded, and remains, Christian.

  • You sure? I mean, we were guaranteed right to freedom of religion (meaning we can practice any religion we want, including Christianity). But who came up with the idea that the country was founded under Christian principles (and while I am non-religious, I do celebrate Christmas like most others)

  • The fact that nearly 100% of colonial America was Christian.

  • Who came up with the idea that the country was founded under principles? Have you read the constitution? God is mentioned and referred to. So I guess the framers of the constitution came up with the idea that the country was founded under Christian principles

  • So true. Thank you for doing this video. Christmas Blessings to all!

  • Thank you, that was excellent.

    Merry Christmas to all!

  • Great video. My Christmas Spirits have been revived. Talk about the Grinch - those ads could do it. Thank you Janice

  • I hope they listen to you. I feel like tossing their "holiday" ads into their stores. If I had the time I'd go in and fill my shopping basket and than walk out! Maybe we could all do that next year and be sure to leave their catalogs and just sign our first names!!!!!!!MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU. Janice

  • tossmas sounds fun.

  • lovin' it!

  • I won't shop at places that cencer the word christmas some of thease stores are ; Barnes & Noble Banana Republic Circuit City Dick's Sporting Disney Store Ebay Eddie Bauer Lane Bryant Old Navy Petco Sports Authority
  • hehe my mom showed me this, he is so brilliant! seriously, all of those 'holiday' catalogs sell christmas items anyways, so why even bother?

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, MERRY CHRISTMAS,... I WILL SAY IT ALL i WANT AND NOBODY IS GOING TO STOP ME.

  • ha thats a very funny video and it makes a good point 2 lol

  • I just said Merry Tossmas to Macys, PBS, Linens&Things and Wireless all with Santa, angels or reindeer and "Happy Holidays" on the cover. I love Tossmas.

I heard this played on the Armstrong & Getty show on KSTE, Sacramento, a big AM talk station here & San Francisco. It's getting around! Now if the retailers just get a clue.

  • yay tossmas, i watched this in chapel

  • Merry Christmas, and God be with you all. If you feel the same way about this subject, please leave a comment on my page,(I'm dying to know people that feel the same way I do!)

P.S. I just wished Merry Tossmas to my L.L. Bean catalog too!

  • Thank you! However, the most meaningful celebration Jesus enjoyed was the night he invited 12 of his closest friends to enjoy a meal with him, then sat down with 11 of them with no gifts but himself, no tree but the cross he would soon carry, and no fancy table of food, just some unleavened bread and some fruit of the vine, and his love-driven washing of their feet. NOW THAT was CHRISTmas...a celebration of why he came giving the best gift of all. No wonder the world is confused.

  • i agree. i think we should celebrate christ everyday!!

  • Well said... Merry CHRISTmas!

  • Happy birthday, JESUS!! Have a holly jolly CHRISTmas!! Awesome 'possum video!!

  • Merry CHRISTmas! This is awesome-'possum!

  • we wish you a merry Christmas, We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy newyear. Merry Christmas to all.

  • they don't care if they offend christians, why, we're only the major religion in this country, why respect the ones who started Christmas?

    (sarcasim intended)

  • This is a great video.

  • Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!Merry CHRISTmas!

  • Wonderful. I just shredded over 40 retailer catalogs. Political Correctness gone mad.

December 2th is Christmas, celebrating the birth of Christ. And this is the Christmas Season.

I'll construct my gifts and present them in His Name.

    God Bless.

  • Finally someone with the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the leading retailers. I agree by not offending someone with wishing them a Merry Christmas, you offend us the folks that understand the true meaning of Christmas. It is a birthday party for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Yes and as horrible as it seems , THERE was A Holocaust. IT did happen.

Millions of God's people were slaughtered. But, fear not non-believers there will be a day of reckoning.

  • Definallity the best tape ever!I live all the way in Norway, but we have the same PROBLEM here. This is also way to much costly to the society!!!!

  • I love this!

    Happy Advent!

  • BRAVO! bravo!

May God bless you and yours!

    Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  • Thank you for saying it all and telling the truth!!

  • Good video. Lowe's Catalog Had "Holiday cheers" and called thier trees "Family Trees" and showed a "Family tree" upside down on it's stand. Talk about wacko catalogs.

  • amen

  • This is a GREAT point!

  • well said
