Can't wait to join up myself. Though it's only the reserves. If I was single and younger I would join the ADF as a career soldier, but things don't always work out that way :)

@bannanahomie ATM, we have apprximately 5 000 australian servicemen and women deployed around the world, and I think roughly 2 000 - 3 000 soldiers in Afghanistan at present. I don't know exactly where our main focus is now but in 2006-07-08, 800 servicemen were in the Tarin Kowt province working alonside 2 000 Dutch personell. I believe the Tarin Kowt province operation has been successful and the taliban were pushed out. However I don't know exactly where we are fighting at the moment.

@Canadian092 thanks Canadian, although I think we are becoming a little bit frustrated over here with the fact that no body really understands what we are trying to do in Afghanistan. I know the people deserve to live in peace and freedom, but I'm not really sure what we are doing will bring this.
