Harper may be erratic but I heard Rick was gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think Harper was trying to get support for anti-protectionism, and trying to reach out to the U.S. right. I think he was trying to get them on his side, our side, in the fight against protectionism, by speaking their language.
Getting support for anti-protectionism? By alienating the people who gave him that seat in Calgary-Southwest? The people who supported his party enough to give them a second chance?
We all know Harper's two-faced, but this takes two-facing to an extreme for the sake of encouraging trade. He risks much with this move.
What more should we expect from a Prime Minister who blatantly misled the public about the way the parliamentary system works to save his own skin? One message for the foxnews audience undermining Obama's plan (the very thing they want to hear), and the next day a message for Canada that says the opposite. Perhaps in Canada where Obama has an approval rating in the eighties he thought we wouldn't notice the discrepancy.
