Bass Clarinet - Who's Fooling Who?

I was told I should march with a bass clarinet. How tall are you and do you have a vid where you are backed up more. I am conserned that it is too large for me to march with.

Bass clarinets aren't that large. I personally have never marched with a bass clarinet but I did march with a contra alto clarinet (which is longer than a bass clarinet) for three years. I'm short (about 5' 2") and had no problems marching with the contra. I know a girl who marches bass clarinet and she's shorter than me. Basically, if you carry it and it doesn't touch the ground, you'll be able to march it.

Essentially, they have the same sounding range. However, a Bari's low A is a Bass Clarinet's low D (which only low-C model basses can hit).

In writing, a bass clarinet can read lower notes than a bari sax.

@Contra0 all im saying is that a sax would do more justice to the song. Not that you don't madd skill, but if ever decided to cover this i would use my tenor sax

And therein lies the problem... Everyone would use a sax... If you ask me, I'd say that saxes, though they sound awesome, are overused and clarinets (especially the lower ones) are underrepresented. I aim to be different from everyone else. That's just my style.
