  • sounds like some1 put a car muffler on a lawnmower

  • that cam sounds like shit

  • sounds like my whipper snipper

  • MAZDA WILL STOP MANUFACTURING ROTARY ENGINE IN NEXT JUNE

  • I aggree with matthewlovesdebooze

  • sounds like a weed whacker

  • @matthewlovesdebooze A 500hp weedwhacker

  • What's The BOV ? I Love It !

  • 2 people get pwnd by rotary

  • Why does everyone say that a rotary sounds like a two stroke as though they're surprised? It IS a two stroke!!

How are you finding the factory intercooler holding up and how much boost are you running? I'm about to pump some boost into mine with standard porting, GT3540 turbo and a front mount IC.

  • @AdaptronicECU Rotary still does 4 strokes: 1- intake, 2- compression, 3- expansion, 4- exhaust. Its not a two-stroke.

    Thats not the factory intercooler.

  • @jesseoff Yes, so does a 2 stroke piston engine; the thing that makes a piston engine a 2 stroke is the fact that it does one power stroke once per output shaft revolution; it has 2 instances of the 4 stroke cycle happening at once, just like a rotary. You have ports instead of valves which gives them their characteristic exhaust sound and you need to lubricate the piston rings / apex seals by burning oil.

How much boost do you run?

  • @jesseoff yeh but i it sdounds like that cuz it does all 4 in 1 sicle

  • @jesseoff What you mentioned is 4 cycles. 2 stroke engines means that it completes these 4 cycles in 2 strokes, the expansion, then exhaust cycles happen as the piston is going down, at bottom end, intakes fuel, and on the way up compression and ignition, so 1 power cycle per rev

For a wankel engine, it's hard to determine "strokes" as the engine is not stroking up and down, but rotating, but it does the same work as 2 strokers, 1 power cycle per rev. 4 stroke engines do 1 power cycle per 2 revs

  • @jesseoff AKA, suck, squeeze, bang, blow.

  • @AdaptronicECU gets your facts straight, bud

  • @AdaptronicECU haha he's made you look a right twat.

  • @AdaptronicECU it sounds like my boat engine LOL

  • @AdaptronicECU The rotary that mazda mass produce is a 4 stroke. However there is a 2 stroke rotary, but never been in production. Just animation, search for two stroke rotary on youtube....

  • sounds like shit.

  • at 1:42 does he say don't touch it?

  • that sounds like a cheap 2 stroke whipper snipper on really low revs.

    :|

  • @Matek0012 It sounds like a 2 stroke:)

  • @daand12 its because that engine has no pistons

but a rotary engine and it is much more efficient than piston

  • I love the rotary engine! It sounds great! Kinda sounds like a two stroke. I bet that thing hauls with the turbo setup you have. Nice job!

  • that bov sounds like the one in the fast and the furious eclipse

  • y watch ,what u hate , u dum fuck, mrs segaAgesTV,

  • the idle reminds me of the vintage muscle cars. very nice.if i can get my hands onto anything fast i'd take this Mazda, i'll take your Oldsmobile, I'll take your V6 Japanese rice rockets - fuck, anything that sounds mean and hauls ass I'll take!

  • thats fucking nuts lol it sounds like a snowmobile sorta

  • MSNIMSM, That is an old TV commercial. If you read it again, it says

pistong engine go boing, boing, boing and the Mazda go Hmmmmm.

The reason the Mazda doesn't go boing, boing, boing is because it has

no pistons. Do you understand now?

  • Holy smokes, all the haters comming out of the woodwork on this vid.

    Sweet ride, sounds badass man!

  • did you put a full apex exhaust system on that tiny beast

  • Piston engine go boing, boing, boing and the Mazda go Hmmmmmm.

  • @PistolPete2 Those dont have pistons dumbass.

  • brapbrapbrapbrapbrapbrapbrapbrap brap brap brapbrapbrapbrapbrapbrapbrap

  • note to self: no bridge porting! sounds absolutely rubbish, and I do drive a rotary powered car.

  • literally sounds like a weed wacker is this a joke

  • did you puta cam on this?

  • car sounds gay as fuck.

revving makes it sound like an idling lawn mower.

  • i love v8s but 79 cui engine vs. 350 cui engine and ur still pushn 500 hp dam

  • awesome car dude !!

  • what the f*** is that high pitch whine? does he not have a blow off valve on the thing or what. my dog is crying because of it. the exhaust is driving me crazy too. the hum of a V8 is much better compared to this engine

  • sounds like a snowmobile

  • it sounds just like 2 stroke snowmobil

  • why arn't you reving the shit out of that thing, rotary engines loooves high rpms.

  • ohh shit what a shit !

  • I'm not here to hate, but I would just like to understand why people think this weed whacker sound is cool coming out of a car? It sounds like a weed whacker / dirtbike. I can understand if you're Japanese and you want to rep your country's automobiles, but what makes someone like this more than the rumble of a V8? Please give me serious answer, not just shit talking nonsense.

  • @partywithbonscott I’ve often wondered that myself. Even really powerful rotary and small 4’s and 6’s just sound plain awful compared to a V8. If I had to have a rotary or small piston engine, even if it made a lot of power, I’d put the quietest muffler on it I could find. Who wants to listen to that all day?

  • Nice Fast & Furious BOV lmao

  • people hate on the RE cause they been beat by one :O

  • why dont alot more people use rotary engines it seems like theyd be more simpler and easier to maintain

  • @TANK5134 they need to maintained correctly though, more fragile than a piston motor

  • hey did you change the rear or did you leave it stock?

  • those cars are dangerous, they were made to kill, like to get em moving you have to rev it up to like 5 grand, damn they were death traps, you had to be a racer to be able to drive them wen they came out

  • is it harder to build a rotary engine or to buil an engine that uses pistons?

  • magnificient! the car and the sound of it.

  • hmm nice car dude! but bridgeport makes brap-brap-brap-brap and not brabrabrabrabrabrap u know? :P

    still nice sound :D

  • what kind of blow off valve is that?

  • sound like a chain saw lol

  • omg man thats fucking sic its got a nice sound

  • i put a 1jz in my rx7 ..hehe

  • you got single turbo set up or did you stay twin?

  • I'm in the process of going single (car is apart in my garage). Borg Warner S366 turbo.

  • @jesseoff I don't know much about cars, but isn't twin turbo better than a single turbo?

  • @KrazyKuul111

    '

nah u get a new ECu and u can run the single turbo at higher boost, and it takes away that dirty turbo change over, much more reliable aswell it gets rid of that birds nest that sits under those twin turbos

  • @jesseoff why not twin?

  • it sounds exactly like my snowmobile...

  • Nice vid you got there, and just forgot about those loosers who are trying to piss you off, by the way u really got an rx8? i like them they have a nice engine.

    Take care of it ;)

  • @13BRotaryREW Thanks! I have a both an RX8 and a FD RX7. To make the RX8 a little more fun I put a twin-screw supercharger in it a few years ago but its still no match for the FD (though the FD has more than a few non-OEM "improvements" too).

  • @jesseoff Really nice cars you got there, I have had a rx7 88, rx7 90 and rx7 85 and I can let you know I love them and I will have all the rx7 :) lol u know what i mean

  • 500hp my asshole

  • You're right, its probably actually more like 600hp.

The same motor/car with less aggressive porting are making 600hp to the wheels and running low 10s in the quarter mile.

  • @jesseoff Conservative tune my friend. I'm sure it could boost 30psi+ for even 9 second runs.

  • @jesseoff but it uses more gasoline

  • fast car to bad it sounds like a whipper snipper XD

  • Prolly be faster without that dumb body kit and sound system lol

  • I doubt it. With 500rwhp, the extra weight in the back probably helps with traction and makes it faster.

Body kit? He doesn't have a body kit, he has a rear diffuser, vented hood, and a front bumper with enlarged air inlets. Thats mostly a stock bodied RX7 there.

  • jesseoff, if i could give you thumbs down, i would give you 10. how does weight give you more speed? i doubt adding a sound system would help much. cause you don't see F1 race cars with booming sound systems

  • What are you talking about? Drag cars put ballasts in the rear all the time for quarter mile runs and many are faster because of it. You must be stupid to never have heard of that.

This is not a F1 race car. Why is it so hard to understand not everybody who modifys cars for higher power wants to build a race car?

He also left in the "dumb" passenger seat, "dumb" interior carpet, and "dumb" environmental controls!

  • more weight in the rear only gives you better traction at the begging. yes its important, but once your already moving you already got enough traction. more weight would just slow you down and theoretically reduce handling.

  • Once you're already moving? A 500rwhp RX7 will break traction in first, second, and third gear on most street tires. Above those speeds, aerodynamics play a much more important role and a 1% reduction in power to weight ratio is even less significant.

I don't think you realize just how obnoxious 500rwhp is on a RX7. The last thing this guy has to worry about with this much power is how to make it faster.

  • the ballast is put in the rear to add traction to the rear wheels

  • Yeah no kidding. This guy is probably a little kid pretending to be someone else who doesn't know shit about cars.

  • front end isn't stock, weight doesn't add speed!! Where did that come from? Motor "probably" makes 500whp? I love rotaries but a huge stereo seems like a waste with all that hp. Thats why race cars are stripped down to the bare minimum.

  • This isn't a race car-- its a show car. Different build priorities. 30 lb's of extra weight in the back isn't going to matter with a 500rwhp rx7 as his best 1/4 mile will be traction limited anyway.

He needs an extra 6 whp to tow his stereo and maintain his power-to-weight ratio. Big freaking deal.

Front bumper is replaced, true. With a lighter one.

  • gotta side with jesseoff here. its a show car, he built the car to win awards for looks and such, not track times. Now yes, it has 500 hp but if he gave me that car. i would never bring it to the track... unless i have some serous sponsors, my race car isnt going to have tens of thousands of dollars spent on looks, cause if you crash it.... ooh man i dont even wanna think about that lol

  • Comment removed

  • why would they put an engine that makes very little torque in an suv?

  • true that. I know im young and crap and we dream about anything but i really want to figure out a way to make a rotary design that can outlast a regular 4 cylinder piston and won't break down as much as past rotaries did

  • have you ever seen Trevor Nation or Robert Dunlop on the rotary Norton? that thing was a weapon, So what if the riders is German, if they were rode quick... THEY WERE QUICK!

  • @Kote12TK The engine design was licenced to be built by NSU ( the company Wankel worked for) there have been lots of companies using it including, Rolls Royce, NSU and Norton motorcycles. as well as mazda

  • This is a high maintenance engine!!

  • not necessarily -- no valvetrain to adjust, 3 moving parts, no camshaft, no timing belt, no distributer, no connecting rods, push rods, or valve springs. As long as its tuned well (very important on rotary), never overheated, and oil level watched rotaries aren't too bad

  • rotary engines look less complicated than the other engines its not high maintenance its if you take care of it like any other car

  • thought off engine rebuild every 30-60k miles???

  • i love the sound of rotary engines

  • This thing is a monster, what blow off does it have? Sounds freaking amazing.

  • I want to get an fc but the fd is amazing plus most of the rx7 are around 4,000-15000 bucks 20,000 if they are customized

  • That's a huge fucking lawnmower!

  • na sounds like my lil bro 50cc but thats phat!

  • hmmm than's my lawnmower's Engine!!!!!

  • who cars it does things your car can't do and your lawnmower's engine can't do.

  • what????

  • nice fd

  • like a bee in a jar... american V8 muscle ftw !

  • wow two totally different engines good in their own way cant compare v8 can have scary amount of power

a 1.3l will revv like no othere engine in a car

  • its amazing how a 1.3 can make over 700hp

  • timming is off by atleast a tooth inside

  • No timing gears on a rotary dude. This is the way a bridge-port lopes/sounds due to extreme intake/exhaust overlap (sort of like a very aggressive piston engine cam).

  • its actually more like 3 litres.. but still nice car, exhuast could be a little more throaty tho.

    chrz.

  • Actually, no. Its 1.3 liters, 1308cc. There are 2 rotors and 2 combustion chambers measuring 654cc each. It has twice as many power strokes per e-shaft rotation compared to a piston engine which makes it breathe like a 2.6L piston engine, but it is not a 2.6L engine.

  • Bridgeport FTW! Love that sound

  • sounds like a chainsaw

  • rx-7 is the best car in the world!!!!

  • sound's like my old Kawasaki zzr 250

sounds just like a lawn mower

  • Greddy Type S

  • most impressive car i've driven to date is a 450rwhp rotary rx7. even more responsive than a 600hp 396 powered chevelle and 405 hp 99 z06.

    impressive engines

  • i like the Blow off valve whistle

  • nice grumble..... rotary run thingz....

  • yeah awesome car!!

  • sweet car dude, rx-7 s are awesome

  • nice FD bro

  • Sick car.
