  • haha that was too easy! :D

  • way to go dude!!!

  • favorite american 85: Kendrick Farris

    favorite american 94: Rob Adell

    favorite american 105: Donny Shankle

-these are like america's only lifters who lift at an international level lol

  • @ThatDunneKid190 I feel like in coming years we will have more internationally capable competitors.

  • when can I get the straps??

  • @christfitxxx there will be available this weekend at our website. link on youtube main page

  • @BROZKNOWS same ones yall use?

  • @JNFreije yes, and they are available now. 5 colors.

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • looked really good but how did he hurt his knee doing like 154 and after knee surgery and months of recovery (which is about have the time it takes a knee to fully heal) and then u do a 16 kilo pr plus make it that easy dang i just dont get it

  • is a hook grip used when using straps?

  • As someone who has read all your comments on the videos. the Q and A on your current site, threads on websites and watched interviews you've done, I can't wait to read all of this content and more in one place, consolidated and concise on your new site. Thanks for going to the trouble of doing this. Your gym is an inspiration to lifters the world over, which must be a pretty cool thing to know. Keep doing what you do, Broz!

  • @atomichop Thanks!

  • when can we buy those straps you said near the end of this month? I want to support you guys.

  • @desembodic soon. They will be available in 5 colors!

  • Damn 9lbs added to his snatch in 14 days..impressive

  • @zooyork9999 9lbs more on camera*. I'm sure his actual snatch is 180-182.5.

  • Hey John Broz: what do you do with athletes with rotator cuff irritations? you guys train it specific also? like internal and external rotations?

  • In 1980, I saw Mark Cameron lift this same weight. He was the top American at that time, lifting in the 110kg class. I was impressed with seeing an American lifter snatch that much weight. It was a good lift, but nowhere near the casual ease that Rob showed in this vid. AND (obviously) Rob is 14kg lighter. Really outstanding, I hope the gains continue for you.

  • "How you feel is a lie"-of all your quotes and statements- this may be my favorite. After a few strait 2-a-days,to say my body and mind didn't want to train would be an understatement. I woke up from my nap in between am/pm sessions and felt like i'd been hit by a train. I remembered this quote, and that "any time you touch the bar it is a plus"- and hit the gym for another couple hours- hitting numbers in snatch and squat I hadn't been able to touch for weeks. Thanks Coach. Here's a testimonial

  • @JNFreije I'm glad you didn't fall prey to conventional wisdom and sit home to "recover". That attitude and determination will lead to many PR's.

  • @BROZKNOWS I've noticed that when I feel "bad", I tend to push harder on that day. When we feel 'great', I reckon we don't push our bodies to the max because our mindset is overly positive.

  • @BROZKNOWS coach i have a question my knees been hurting like hell, im 15. should i keep on training or should i rest it for a few weeks till it gets better.

  • @chrisdang97 without watching you squat technique or knowing where in the joint it is, I would recommend taking it slow.

  • @BROZKNOWS Big question for ya! Maybe not your cup of tea, but will see. WOULD you apply your weightlifting method, which I think is maxing multiple times a day on different sessions, to a 40 yard dash? i know your a weightlifting coach not a track coach but i figured you've been around the block a time er two and seen some elite level athletes doin what they doin. Thanks!

  • @stowe89ify I would def sprint multiple times / day- however I would also include squats and cleans to increase speed and power output. sprints are very skill based, just like O-lifts and require much technique and repetition to be perfect BUT they also both require tremendous power output.

  • @BROZKNOWS Will the new website have information on how to miss attempts? I want to start olympic lifting to get stronger for another sport, but I've now seen more than a few disaster injuries from lifts on youtube, and definitely don't want to have something serious happen in the weight room when lifting isn't even my main sport. I know you train athletes, so you must think it's worth the risk, I just want to be 100% confident when I'm holding my body weight above my head.

  • @062112a absolutely - matter of fact, it's the first thing that I teach new lifters.

  • You know people always ask.....what if extremely athletic potentially elite NFL athletes tried olympic weightlifting?

Well? This video answers your question.

  • @snatch147at85 Hey now, its a fantastic lift from a phenomenal lifter, but he's no NFL athlete so lets not get carried away. I know he played football in college but he's where he belongs, on the platform.

  • Broz, how long did it take Rob to starting making progress after entering the 'dark times'?

  • @acon120 he came out of those long ago.

  • @BROZKNOWS do you like kendrick farris as a lifter?

  • @magicapricot yes

  • Coach, what is your opinion of training when sick? By sick i mean normal/common colds and fevers. Go hard as always? Do it light? Or just rest?

  • @Fushraxen go set a PR.

  • Favorite Foreign lifter: Klokov

    Favorite American lifter: Adell

  • Lol, so easy. wtf...

  • Coach, at the expense of sounding redundant, is it fair to assume the new website will be up before the end of the month?

  • @JMoney042 haha. nope. content creation is a bit of a task.

  • Hey Broz, what's Rob back squatting these days?

  • I like how you guys aren't getting too carried away now when he clearly has more in the tank to get close to that 189 mark. Great lift Rob, great progress for such an advanced athlete

  • holy shit!!! look at his arms!!! great job on the snatch though. it looks like he'll get 405 soon

  • What up Jon North?

  • Looks like he has more in there.

  • awesome! what height is rob?

  • 1. What is his personal best?

    2. When is his next competition?

  • nice lift

  • What a beast.

  • Is he still a 94 or will he go up to 105?

  • @jsrux 94

  • looks too easy for him

  • holy shit that awesome! what height is rob?

  • hello

  • So what are Robs future plans? Been following him for a while.

  • @DjiEnn World Champion

  • Just 20 more to go! :)

  • so sick, love how quick his progress is! Keep the vids coming!

  • Awesome! Looking forward to seeing some C&Js!

  • What a beast... great lift!

  • BEAST

  • Is this a lifetime pr?

  • WOW!

  • Love this guy, he looks so hard...

  • GREAT!

  • Ridiculous

  • impressive

  • Amazing lift. Broz, what's Rob back squatting these days?

  • Makin it look easy. How'd the Vegas open go?

  • @LayEmOut60 vegas meet was great. had a nice turnout. pics on flickr.

  • This looks a lil too easy, when do you reckon he'll hit that double bodyweight snatch?

  • I'm under the impression that the USA can get a spot for 2012 via the Pan Am championships in May. Can you confirm? If so do you think Rob or Pat could get there?

  • 20kg more to go.

  • @LevskiSofiaSS we are shooting for 30

  • HOLY SHIT BATMAN!

  • great strength!! he just snatched what i deadlift!

  • much respect for that lift.

Rob's biggest clean & jerk i saw was 175 kg, although i saw the multiple cleans at 200 kg. Do you have a video of rob putting up like 190-200 kg in the clean & jerk? would be interesting to see a max attempt, because i don't think 175 is anywhere near his maximum.

  • @dakleenesebi2 yeah, 170/175 would be pretty lame total.

  • sick

  • Nice!

  • Based on the lack of reaction, I am going to assume this is now super routine for Rob. Hot damn.

  • @RonViking yes, hence the description. ;)

  • Huge power output!

  • how can he be so big? O_O

  • Although this may be apples versus oranges, I really do feel Rob is quickly becoming your best athlete (versus Mendes I suppose) - improving by leaps and bounds, amazing power to weight, AND could probably simultaneously compete in natural bodybuilding, powerlifting and olympic weightlifting at a very high level.

How's Jared's progress? Haven't seen much of him lately

    Any

  • @BentropySS Jared has been having some shoulder issues from when he trained elsewhere, however he is currently on the upswing. Vids to come.

  • Wow amazing this puts him top 15 in the world in the snatch and even more amazing when realize that at last years worlds Jared Fleming only snatched 152 and this is an american record lift. His progress is unreal and I thought pat mendes was the main freak training over there.

  • Dayum..

  • One day this man will be the world's best

  • when do you anticipate rob will have to drop the 2kg for competition?

  • @Bowen210191 the last 2-3 days before

  • Beastly!

  • AWESOME, His body is ready

  • Hes only 18kg from the Snatch record! 94kg weight class

  • Easy!

  • Rob looks very lean... He's competing soon or are you guys planning on going one category higher?

  • @Quissoisso staying at 96 to make an easy 94.

  • Was this a max lift for the session? A planned attempt at a PR?

I ascribe to the max effort style of training that you guys employ and I'm always curious what the progression is like leading up to these big lifts.

  • @overdose301 no it wasn't a max attempt.

  • I can't pretend I am not impressed :)

  • 2x bodyweight is just around the corner, nice!

  • Just watched an Ed Coan documentary, then I seen Misha Jerk humans. Now this! Rob good job! Broz good job!

  • Beast

  • Dear BROZKNOWS, how much do straps add for Rob?

  • @gifted22yeah currently about 10kg. soon to be fixed.

  • insanity!

  • Is that double start allowed in competition?

  • looking HUGE. massive lift too, he'll be snatching 400+ soon!

  • looks like North and Fleming are gonna be fighting for second place...

  • wow, awesome lift, hard work paying off.

  • how do i look like rob coach?

  • @ch3wbacca1991 snatch 170

  • OHHHH SHIT

  • Eat your heart out Cal strength

  • ohhh damnn

  • Why didn't Rob compete at LV Open?

  • @man10941 he was one of the refs

  • solid lift. great progess!

  • Beast mode

  • speechless. Is he going to be at the Arnold?

  • i find it hard to believe this dude isn't juicing...has he taken part in any contests recently where he's been tested?

  • speechless. Is he going to be at the Arnold?

  • Awesome lift. Plenty more there. Congrats to Rob and Broz

  • OH FUCK!!!! WTF!!!!

  • fucking swole!

  • Is he going to the Arnolds?

  • Holy shit.

  • strong

  • Are you seriously telling that my nigga rob just snatched 170 kg and he didn't even grunt or struggle with it? Holy shit, thats fucking scary. He is so strong.

  • THAT'S WHAT'S UP!

  • I never really realised how hard this was until I was in the gym recently. I knew the snatch lift was impressive, but when I found out I could barely lift 120kg off the ground (I didn't intend to snatch this), well it was quite humbling to say the least. Needless to say, fantastic power and strength there :).

  • first to comment...first to show respect...keep up the good work Rob

  • @hzlwdcntrlftbll close to first

  • ahhhh i love this guy, cant wait to see at 175/210 from him

  • Will Rob Stay a 94 or will he be a 105 by 2016? He looks like you couldn't fit any more muscle on him.

  • @ptarleton 94

  • What does he play in football?

  • @JordanMitch armchair qb

  • Nice lift, looking huge too holy fuaark

  • Nice job!!! :D

  • not fair.

  • that was retardily easy looking. what is he, 15kg off the 94 wr?

can he qualify for the olympics?

  • YES!!!

  • Holy Fuck...

  • oh my god... so that's it, he's going to be the first American to win an olympics in decades. It's going to happen, this video certainly suggests he's on that path.

  • How long did it take for Rob Adell to get that kind of power to snatch that much? I'm kind of a weight lifting noob

  • @Kushisgoodforhealth about 6 years of lifting weights so far

  • very nice!

  • What up Jon North?

  • Very impressive

  • awesome

  • is 200kg possible at this weight class?

  • @atitkem it is possible. there have been guys do it in training at this weight - and before they changed the weight classes, 195.5 @90 was the record.

  • holy...one of the craziest things i've ever seen

  • do you think you will ever make those straps available to the public for sale?

  • @rzheng3489 working on them as we speak

  • Dam he is f@cking yoked! just goes to show that Olympic lifts do build muscle

  • 18kg away from the official 94kg world record! This man needs to go to the 2016 olympics!

  • Oh and just wondering, what's his C&J like these days?

  • @TBW92 vids to come

  • 18kg under current WR

Prickish comment aside, Rob obviously has a lot more in the tank. I'm assuming his goal is indeed to shoot for a WR some day? He seems like he's got what it takes

  • @TBW92 yes

  • Such a animal...

  • absurd

  • just plane bad ass... good luck at the nationals, arnold what ever you want to call it...

  • was there even any weight on the bar?

all jokes aside, when he took some time off how was he training? like was it more focused towards strength or bodybuilding?

  • Nice lift.

  • Nice! My hero!

  • 19 kg to go. I can already see the "but he bounced that 374 pounds over his head!" comments rolling in.

Just awesome, keep up the great work.

  • What a monster....

  • Man i wish i could easily put 374lbs over my head. ._.
