Debate revolves around the classic "reasonable expectation of privacy". If someone searches on Google for porn, do they expect that Google won't sell their identities to the government? Or if you search for Jesus, should they be able to send Jehovah's Witnesses to your door?

There are more complex possibilities of combining census data, internet visits, credit card purchases, phone records, etc. in order to maximize profit.or profile criminals.

BE AWARE Google keeps records of all your searches for 18 months together with your IP address. That's personally identifiable, whatever they say.There is no legal requirement for it. They just do it. WHY?
