Why do people freak about this so much... If you have nothing to hide whats the problem??? Whats so bad about them keeping your records for extended periods of time?
@lustfordeath You are wrong, here is why. Someone saying "If you have nothing to hide why worry about privacy" is absolutely RIGHT. It is the most common and simple response, which is why people like you have to try and act all smart and OVER think the situation. There is no argument against it, all anyone can say is exactly what you said... "I absolutely DESPISE that type of thinking" You never gave WHY you despise it. You are the dumb one. I have nothing to hide, so I don't mind.....
@lustfordeath so I don't mind the government spying. If I had to let a room full of government officials watch me jack off, to save a persons life... THAN I WOULD LET THEM!! Let them spy. If they see me taking a shower, or listen to me talking on the phone or anything private, I DON'T CARE. If it helps stop crime and terrorist attacks then I don't care if I have someone spying on me 24/7, and do you know why??? BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE. It's a simple answer, but it's the best one.
@lustfordeath No excuse to look at me? LOL that's the whole point, the government doesn't know who to look at so they want to look at everybody. They can't predict what exact person to watch because they don't know who is plotting a crime. If they want to set a security camera up on my street corner than I would LOVE that. Even if that means they have their eye on my house 24/7.Hell it's like having your own security, Who wouldn't want that? I would love that because I have nothing to hide! :)
@Fish61324 Also, when the government becomes tyrannical things like using too much hot water may become illegal because it "hurts the environment" so you all really want a bunch of control freak to just be able to openly spy on you? This is America, the government isn't supposed to do what ever it wants. You are the type that would love to support another Hitler or Stalin because he would promise to keep you safe from the evil terrorists!
@lustfordeath you're funny because you have no argument lol. All you're doing is putting words in my mouth, saying I would support another Hitler or Stalin LOL. That's what you're saying. Also you saying that's the type of thing Hitler would do, I didn't realize you knew Hitler LOL. It's great watching you crumbing in this argument, you have NOTHING LOL. Maybe I'm just a friendly guy who has nothing to hide and wants a safer world for my children. We all have to follow a set of rules and laws..
@Fish61324 Yeah, you're a jackass. Go learn about our founding fathers, read the constitution and just look at history. People you care for are statistically far more likely to be killed or hurt by the government than some "terrorists" who live in a cave. Read a book. You've obviously bought into all the fear mongering by the media that the scary boogey men terrorists are going to get you if you don't give up all your freedoms and liberty!
@lustfordeath If they want to listen to my phone convos I don't mind, what's the worst they are going to hear?Me talking all lovey dovey w/ my gf?I dont care,as long as it makes our country safer. If the government sent out a bunch of officials to search every house in america i would love that.I would invite them to search my house, why?Because I have nothing to hide. And if I know they are searching every house, then I know they are going to find a criminal. I have nothing to hide... BEST ANSWER!
@Fish61324 Wow, I can't believe you would actually welcome that. That is exactly the type of thing Hitler would do. "Those who would give up Essential Liberty

Japandrifting is such a hateful little troll. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
Back to the issue, the saving of information for such a long time makes me nervous. While it it true that news of a violation of trust would spread quickly, I don't understand why they need to hold the info for 18 months.
BE AWARE Google keeps records of all your searches for 18 months together with your IP address. That's personally identifiable, whatever they say. There is no legal requirement for it. They just do it. WHY?
@pigsbishop99 - I don't believe Goolge only keep it for 18 months. They must have other copies. Most companies keep they backups forever, as long as they have storage.
The main thing out got out of this is that. If Google trying to screw some "one" then we will out find out instantly and very fast.
What if Google decides to screw "everyone" at once at the same time and we all get to find out that we are the victim at the same time.
I agree, just don't use the product if you don't agree with what comes with it. but living in a American culture, it is a norm for us to be apart of the mobile touch screen market.

rachel mad-dyke's(get it?) show is not journalism by any stretch of the term. it is entertainment. she doesn't employ the fairness doctrine nor does she listen to anybody's point of view. we're seeing pattern amongst the hateful bull dykes are we not? mad-dyke(get it?) can sure sling it at gingrich, limbaugh, mccain, thompson but she cannot take any criticism of herself. funny the only people she talks shit upon are men. hmm. that's odd. can you say hate?
"she doesn't employ the fairness doctrine nor does she listen to anybody's point of view." - - riiiiiight.... that's why she has Pat Buchanan as a regular guest. She often has GOP on air. Do you actually WATCH the show? It doesn't sound like you know anything about it.

rachel mad-dyke(get it?) doesn't know what she is talking about. it all went sour for her when no guy would talk to her so she starting wearing a strap on, pisses standing up and drives a harley. she hangs out in dyke biker bars wear she is quite the hit. funny that she hates men yet chooses to look like one. also, notice how she talks out of the right side of her big mouth. ha ha. i win, dykes lose.
Her's an idea folks, if Google wants data to store, lets give them data....lots and lots and lots and LOTS of data. Every time you log on, do random google searches for a couple of minutes, hit as many odd ass things as you can, sometimes be random, other times try to set up a subtle pattern then go random again. Make those alphabet soup bitches blow a brain gasket.
I don't recollect if I was replying someone ( a year ago ) criticising American freedom. Obviously I was also critical about Google entry into China then and how google compromised with the Chinese authorities for a bigger market. Now we all see that result ....Google threatens to leave China or is in the process
What about Internet 2? There are too many folks who cop out like the Google folks. Soon those who value liberty will disconnect from the net. The invasion of privacy has occured for a long time and is getting worse, not better.
Internet2 is gonna be sold to the people as being ultrafast, kid friendly and probably safe from 'terrorists'.. At first it will be slowly introduced where if you pay a bit extra you'll get the privilege of using their fibre optic connections, and the old hubs and routers of the old system will be phased out over time. What they'll keep quiet is how anything you want to upload will have to be screened first; if they don't like what you want to upload then they won't let you.
schmidt, they have guns we don't.. We have to obey the rules.. There are your answers, change the rules and be able to protect yourself, and never say anything on you tube you could not repeat in a court of law hopefully not as a defendent. Guess what it is the main discussion in the room.
scary.. they have guns and we dont.. dems, make sure you dont give up your rights to bear arms, or any constitution right for that matter, becuase one day we may need to take our rights back from the government..
This is like some twisted technological version of the way the Nazis used to trick their lures into furnaces by promiseing them showers and travel.

pigsbishop99 2 years ago 3
@pigsbishop99 - I don't believe Goolge only keep it for 18 months. They must have other copies. Most companies keep they backups forever, as long as they have storage.

The main thing out got out of this is that. If Google trying to screw some "one" then we will out find out instantly and very fast.
What if Google decides to screw "everyone" at once at the same time and we all get to find out that we are the victim at the same time.
I agree, just don't use the product if you don't agree with what comes with it. but living in a American culture, it is a norm for us to be apart of the mobile touch screen market.
Every thing is so convenient

rachel mad-dyke's(get it?) show is not journalism by any stretch of the term. it is entertainment. she doesn't employ the fairness doctrine nor does she listen to anybody's point of view. we're seeing pattern amongst the hateful bull dykes are we not? mad-dyke(get it?) can sure sling it at gingrich, limbaugh, mccain, thompson but she cannot take any criticism of herself. funny the only people she talks shit upon are men. hmm. that's odd. can you say hate?
Japandrifting 3 years ago

@okee7 - you mean China is better? or worse?

@hellothere7654
I don't recollect if I was replying someone ( a year ago ) criticising American freedom. Obviously I was also critical about Google entry into China then and how google compromised with the Chinese authorities for a bigger market. Now we all see that result ....Google threatens to leave China or is in the process

why does Google store information they say they don't need?
Why don't they just clear it?

What about Internet 2? There are too many folks who cop out like the Google folks. Soon those who value liberty will disconnect from the net. The invasion of privacy has occured for a long time and is getting worse, not better.
AVIONBLANC 3 years ago 3
Internet2 is gonna be sold to the people as being ultrafast, kid friendly and probably safe from 'terrorists'.. At first it will be slowly introduced where if you pay a bit extra you'll get the privilege of using their fibre optic connections, and the old hubs and routers of the old system will be phased out over time. What they'll keep quiet is how anything you want to upload will have to be screened first; if they don't like what you want to upload then they won't let you.
