Quentin Crisp was an Interpreter of Life as he translated people, places and experiences into the wonderful work that he gave us all throughout his tenure in the flesh.
Quintin Crisp actually does have the english affliction of self deprecation. Its actually not nostalgia as some people think, or even getting pissed, although both these can be a products of self deprecation. Its probably the only time I've ever got the sense of him being uncomfortable in an interview, as when this interviewer started praising his talent. I daresay he secretly enjoyed it, but its an odd feeling being praised, it makes you wonder what people are after...
This is a lovely interview. It is really like a friendly chat which 'interviews' rarely achieve. I met Quentin a few times and we wrote to each other from 1987 until his death. Even with such a distant friendship, I thought of him as part of my life and I still adhere to many of his witty and wise sayings. He is still with us whether he likes it or not ;) Thank you for showing us this video.

Meaning always rules! We miss Quentin!
