this one had that absolutely out of this world phenominal ending witch I'm sure I was spinning my dress off too. But unfortunately in the beginning I heard the H that he'd smoked too. Not trying to bring anyone own --- just being realistic. That last year I saw it so then unfortunately I'd hear it too. But he did his freakin best to make up for it in the end of the song!!t

this might be the best version of SMR ever done live, 1994-06-26 is another great one, an awesome video is on youtube for it, and the sbd recording is out there on the live music archive too.
There is a SBD recording of this available. After I heard this one years ago, I listened to *every* version of SMR they played. This one TOWERS above them all - because it WAS nailed - everyone in the band was on it with Jerry. Even Vince sounds brilliant on this one with flourishes near the end. Beautiful, haunting, eternal.
Always loved this song, sneaky-slow start then a killer payoff. Especially on versions like this, where Jerry really lets loose at the end! I saw some great versions of 'Standing on the Moon' with similarly killer emotional endings by Jerry. Thanks for sharing, we miss the Fat Man!!
... Well... I was actually at this show . This Jerry song... '' so many roads,'' has always been a favorite of mine. I was fortunate enough to experience the 13 thousandth '' veiw'' of this utub clip. THANK YOU Jerry... once again youve taken my breath away. Almost as good as it was 15 years ago live.

GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT - I was there as well. These late period JG 'new ballads' were as sweet as anything he ever did. I felt he was saying 'goodbye' at some of these performances. This is the essence of JG imho. THANK U FOR POSTING THIS. rip jg
, 100,000 heads filled the streets of boston for as far as the eye could see , fun times! Sunday night was the best night of this five night stretch in my opinion because was the last time GD played the garden, was torn down and Fleet was put up there in it's place which the dead never played. Can still hear the monster estimated prophet from that sunday night every time im up in Boston. Tear this old bulding down! Man i miss the REAL grateful dead.
i was at this show..this gave me goosebumps live. A little while ago I got a boot of this show and there they were, those damn goosebumps again!! Jerry's voice was so strong yet gentile that night. This and the Scarlet>Fire were the highlights for me!
I don't think I've heard that much energy in many if the vids posted here or since the coma incident, just after Jerry got back on his feet there seemed a point to where there was a soul revival like nothing else.
But this indeed was worth the time to hear thanks for posting!!! :-)
ya this is the 2edbest to 7.9.95 ,,,,,,mike smart or smarty on tour,,miss u bro big time ,kyle and the rest of ur fam does ,, we no u did ,it's all about jer ,,,love u kid
A feeble humility that unleashes the tempest of his soul with the force to bring you to your knees. Couldn't help it, broke down and cried. Truly a masterpiece!
yeah this show was great... best show I've attended. Was over 3 hrs long. Palace shows were good too in the summer. Detroit is one scary place... I went to little caesars to get a pizza not far from the Palace, and the guy was talking to me behind bullet proof glass a couple inches thick... oh well, that is America for you. They love their guns there
Oh, what memories! It saddens me to think that he performed this well, particularly vocally, less than a year before his death. People that put down Jerry and the Dead have no appreciation for the depth of their talents. You just don't get that on the radio.
Big up to Jerry, Greatful Dead, Weymoth state park and all who I called my friends back then. This will still be the best run of shows I ever saw. Special Thanks to my bro Arlo and his fluff.
And I love the way you squeeze the photo into the distance -- Jerry, just as we would want to remember him, in his iconic stage-pose, but his all-natural, down-to-earth musical self...rumpled, tired, borderline crestfallen, but giving his whole soul to what he loved.
Fuckin eases my soul, that's for sure. RIP my dear Jerry...wish I had discovered you much sooner...but am blessed to have seen you the few times I did, including with JGB and with the Branford guesting with the GD in LA when they played an excellent version of this beautiful song...
I was there and I was 13
