Icy is pretty much the same as Cydia except it has a better design and is a bit faster... Cydia is better overall, though.

I am using the iphone 1st Gen in Canada and I need to get it to the 3.0 firmware BEFORE jailbreaking. When I plug it in to itunes, so I have to put it into recovery mode? Or can I just press 'Update'? Or 'Restore'? Or do I have to hold Shift and cliock restore, and then find the file for the 3.0 firmware that I downloaded for my device? I don't want to update it and have it get bricked or something.
