Well, I think Metallica might have been one of COB's inspirations. I personally like Metallica better. Kirk and Alexi are both really great guitarists, but in each of the bands' guitarists case, I think Alexi wins!

i dont see how you can compare these 2 bands, theyre so far from each other in the world of metal. COB is so much more heavy, fast and melodic, Metallica is very catchy and has some great riffs and lyrics but like Alexi Laiho is one of the greatest guitarists ever. Anyone who plays guitar at a high level knows that Alexi's playing style is much more difficult to replicate than Kirk's. Kirk is extremely repetitive in his solos, it seems like he hardly gets away from pentatonic shredding.
