WIE BEKOMME ICH ES WIEDER HIN DAS ES GEHT !!!

  • To be able to copy "su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed" file on the SD card, you have to be in clockworkmod recovery menu, from there you have to go to mout usb mass storage device and DO NOT GET OUT, STAY THERE AND CONNECT CABLE TO PC !!! your sd will be detected then copy the file from above.

  • for many people the problem is to boot into recovery, because they flashed boot image, just skip step fastboot flash boot *.img

  • okkk!!! so after several hours of people all having the same isses with the google loader looping....there is a very simple solution...in Clockwork Recovery there is an option to "mount" click it and mount usb storage...then copy your custom rom to the folder that pops up on your computer automatically...then unmount and then in clockwork go to "install zip from sd" then "choose zip from sd" then click on your rom and flash! reboot and you should be good to

  • Glad I read comments. Almost got my phone stuck on Google...Screw that!

  • can this work with 2.3.4??

  • i open cmd and i type cd /nexussroot and it says that it couldnt find the 'path' HELP!!

  • @Sh1nyRainb0w100 cd \nexussroot .Use the other slash

  • the removable disk which is my internal storage does not show up in my computer i tried to mount my usb storage from rom manger it doesn't change

  • Lots of info missing from this tutorial.

-Before you can unlock your phone, you need a usb driver on your PC for your phone, and after trying half a dozen the only one that I found to work for mine (GT-i9020T) was included with PdaNet when I installed it. People with other Nexus S models may need a different driver.

-Secondly, the recovery file you flash can be specific to certain Nexus S models.

-3rd, You should not be flashing boot.img, period. That's what causes the stuck Google screen.

  • @delicieuxz Those who get stuck on the Google loading should follow the instructions listed here:

Wow, no posting links, ok, then Google: "[GUIDE] 2.3.4 OTA - Variants and their links - Korean Release!"

Should be the first result that links to the forum post with the stock ROMS.

Be sure to download the correct original ROM for your phone version. Look under the Nexus S battery to find out what version of the phone you have: i9020T, i9023, i9020A, etc...

  • @delicieuxz Also, to copy the stock ROM to the SD card when you can't boot your OS, you need to mount the internal USB from the recovery menu. Once in the recovery menu, you should be able to follow the menu options to do this, and then unmount it once the ROM is copied to the phone, and then install the zip from the SD card via the recovery menu options.

  • hey i need some help when i put fastboot oem unlock it says its looking for device but the bootloader wont pop up on my phone what can i do??

  • @GenteNueva34

It means that you don't have the proper driver for your Nexus S model installed on your computer. Look under your phone's battery to see what model you have (for example, mine is GT-i9020T) and see what works for others with the same model. The only driver that worked for me came with a program called PdaNet, which I installed.

  • ok for all of those who are stuck on the google logo you will type in cmd cd\nexussroot and then "fastboot flash recovery xxxxxx" where xxxxx is the name of the recovery file you have then reboot in bootloader and go into recovery and you will be in the clockwork menu then mount your usb storage from mounts and storage and place any zip file to your sd card i have placed cyanogen but you can place any rom you want then intall it from clockwork and you are done your phone is saved

  • @elias03120 where can i find my "name of the recovery file" (xxxxx) thanks for help !!

  • @lukasbersuitero in the nexussroot file there should be 2 ISO files the one is rootboot and the other is the recovery one i cant remember its name though as i changed it cause it was too long it should be like recovery clockwork something hope i helped

  • @elias03120 where can i find my "xxxxx is the name of the recovery file" thanks !!!!

  • are there other types of "recovery" roms? Are there other version of 'su'? Is this the sort of "standard community" method of rooting Nexus S? I'm just preparing a head of time before the arrival of my Nexus S. thanks

  • Also will this work with 2.3.4 grj22 (just to unlock bootloader and flash clockwork mod and install cm7, not to flash rootboot as it seems like it's bricking phones)??

  • Hey someone help me please. You know after unlocking the bootloader, and flashing the clockwork mod recovery, can I just use clockwork recovery to wipe data and cache, mount it as storage, copy the cyanogenmod 7 and google apps zips, mount as system, install them both and reboot and will I be finished, or do I need to install superuser zip aswell or is this order wrong?? Thank you !!

  • ^ this ass clown forgot to mention how to debug it so the driver works i am trying ADB now hopfully it works

  • help plz!!! my phone got stuck on google sign after the fastboot flash boot rootboot.img

  • @zedomax plz help me... every thing went on well but now it got stuck at the google logo... hav i bricked my phone.. or is der a solution to it.. plz help its urgent..!!!!

  • @64505752 No, you haven't bricked the phone, and I'm doubtful that it's possible to brick a phone by installing incorrect software.

Google: "[GUIDE] 2.3.4 OTA - Variants and their links - Korean Release!"

    And follow the instructions listed.

Be sure to download the correct original ROM for your phone version. Look under the Nexus S battery to find out what version of the phone you have: i9020T, i9023, i9020A, etc...

  • @zedomax where d same file ?

  • @zedomax my phone is stuck in google sign still

  • @zedomax My phone is Stuck on the google sign when it restarts Please help me :( :(

  • @mycurrentsituation hey did you find a fix to being stuck on the google lock screen??

  • @yourmixtape1 first and most importantly, hit up XDA forums, they are so much better than this homo.

second instead of going through this faggy b*tch of a root, download the android sdk(more info in xda) and you can root it from there :).

i had the same problem and just kept trying, it ended up with me throwing some of my stuff at a wall then solving it. REMEMBER ANDROID SDK (YOUR CURRENT FIRMWARE)

  • @mycurrentsituation its happened to mine aswell all going good its stuck on google sign with unlocked padlock

  • @dazcrawford worst happens, find a nandroid backup(google search) flash with clockwork recovery mod with 2 or higher. a nandroid is basically a saved version of WORKING android.

  • @mycurrentsituation I found a nandroidbackup, have got it working, well sort of.

when the phone starts, it still comes up with the words 'google' and the unlocked padlock. but the phone isnt rooted as i have now installed superuser and rom manager both say the phone isnt rooted.

It will also not let me back it up I press the 'vol up button and 'power on' button, the first part is ok with the option to go to 'recovery' but then its just a box with '!' and nothing happens.

  • @dazcrawford xda forums my children

  • @mycurrentsituation hi im having the same problem as u if u fixed your problem can u please tell me how?

  • @thekaranuppal ok but one thing, do you have any idea what any of this mean?

  • @mycurrentsituation yea i do

  • The su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip included in the zip is for Eclair/Froyo? Will this work with gingerbread?

  • my nexus is locked to vodaphone. they say its a hard lock. will this unlock it?

  • @zedomax can you tell me how to install the drivers im lost. lol

  • what are the benefits of rotting it?

  • I was able to go through the whole process..but Now I am having problem with WiFi..

It says ERROR & doesn't even turn on...

Any Idea what to do next??

  • same problem...waiting for the device...could you please explain what to do next??

  • how do you install th drivers?

  • This method seems easy, but can you also just use Z4root and then flash the latest clock work recovery and bam your rooted?

  • I use google nexus s and win7 64bit and get the "waiting for device" after entering the oem unlock - what should I do, doesn't it work on 64bit?

  • @maboxdata It does work on 64bit win7 thats what I use all the time, perhaps check ur device manager and make sure ur win7 can see adb.

  • took me two weeks to figure out how to install drivers

  • hah weird htc drivers for a samsung device. Why is that?

  • Hello Max,

I have a question I followed all instructions but I dont understand how I can install the HTC drivers.. can you please explain

  • hey how do i install drivers please help

  • hey how do i install drivers please help

  • Why should one root a Nexus S ? what will i gain ?

this is a google developer phone, Isn't this supposed to get latest updates stock anyway ?

I am new to smartphones -_-.

  • Your rootboot.img would not let my Nexus s boot. I guess it was because my NS is a newer version. Anyways. I found another one. Thanks for the video.

  • after typing in everything correctly on cmd, it says waiting for device and nothing happens the phone. any idea what it could be?

  • i followed the video and tried to install a Rom after. But now it just don't let me use the Home, Search, Options and Back 'keys'. And it just don't work with all the roms. any suggestions?

  • im stuck on waiting for device i have a win7 32bit laptop and my phone is being detected by the laptop but wont come up on the CMD promt

  • @WISOSEXO77 Install the HTC drivers in my blog post!

  • does this do a full wipe of your phone and SD card?

  • @captgeno Unlocking the bootloder using Fastboot Oem Unlock wipes your phone

    Flashing the recovery image doesnt

  • i'm also getting the "waiting for device" on the command prompt

  • @SaFaO Make sure USB debugging is turned on

It helps to uncheck it then check it again so it can connect to the computer

type adb devices after your in the androidsdk tools directors

U should see a serial # if u do then u can use adb and fastboot

  • @unbornG4 got it . thanks!

  • I'm using 64bit btw. I've tried using the PDAnet method but I can't seem to find the

    ! Android 1 tab.

    I'm also getting frustrated now.

  • Im also stuck at the same step, getting desperate. My theory is windows 7 is the problem.

  • I'm stuck on the "fastboot oem unlock command". It says waiting for device but my Nexus S doesn't do anything.

  • can u do a tutorial on rooting without unlocking bootloader?

  • @SaFaO You can alway "lock" the bootloader so...

  • @zedomax i dont want to do a full wipe.

  • Can you send me a blackberry keyboard link for nexus s

  • What Keyboard do u use for the nexus s ?

  • wil you be doing an instruction to root with Mac or will this work as well?

  • thank you so much sir
