I quite like this song. But I was really taken by suprise when this part started. It's nothing like any of their other songs. While I enjoy their dark ambient tracks, this one is just a..well...a very enjoyable rock song.
Despite all the negative feedback, I personally loved this song. I think the vocalist did a really good job, as well as the guitar and drums. It was an excellent song to listen to.
This song rocks! The singer and lead guitar work sound great.
The lyrics are really dark and creepy, about someone who's been enslaved by a witch's spell, but they also sound like a metaphor for a serious relationship gone terribly wrong.

@ILuvThisBand yeah, they could've picked a better vocalist. This song's lyrics seem more like a tom petty song or something. perhaps they could use the singer from nickelback or even james hetfield. That'd be interesting.... =_=

@belthizor I understand that. Still, the guitar tone is horrible and it sounds like they just threw a generic drumming track from a drum machine into the mix.
ah ok then. Well, I'm no musician, but I like this song. Unfortunately, I think my CD has a scratch on it or something, as it stuffs up a bit for this song... and oddly enough, there is some feedback on track 9 "Spellbound"
@belthizor In the beginning it starts out as a broken record to convert from the original version, Spellbound, into the rock version. And if it starts breaking during the rock part, then yes, it is your CD.
Is the rock version of spellbound included in the official CD carnival of lost souls? Because in the official site the CD contains 21 tracks..and the rock version isn't mentioned among them :-((
@FacSebari ok cool. I was listening to the song and kep thinking the last track was double the length it typically is... when the rock part came on I thought something was wrong. *goes back to finish song* It's good, now that I now it's intentional. Sneaky Nox Arcana XD
do you happen to know anywhere to get the drum and or guitar tab for this song? i already know the bass for it, and almost know the drums, but not 100% sure on that
You, sir, win. I didn't care much for this album, and personally consider it one of their weaker ones, but this hidden track certainly makes up for it. 5 stars.
really? i personally think it's one of their best albums: i thought the sound was unique and fresh (although the concept has been done a million times, I think they put a nice perspective on it)
I'm a more a fan of Grimm Tales, Shadow of the Raven, and Blood of the Dragon. Those one's stick out in my mind.
Necronomicon was a fitting tribute to Lovecraft as well. But, as I said, this track redeemed a lot of the album in my eyes (or, if you prefer, ears :P), It was totally unexpected- I just thought it was going to be the 'same ol' hidden bit of ambience', instead we're treated to a rather original piece of music for Nox Arcana.
That being said, while Carnival still shines in it's own way
Jin Hamar has always been one of the Cleveland areas best metal vocalist and a huge influence on me...\m/ HORNS UP!!

I love it when Nox Arcana throws vocals into their music. And then to come out swinging with their version of a rock ballad! Amazing!

"I'll take your secret to my grave,
beyond death, I'll be your slave."
Sounds like she stole his soul.
Like I said, great lyrics and a killer song.
I'd like to hear them do another song like this.

what do you mean? The song is supposed to start off sounding like a scratched record, until the record 'skips' and gives way to the rock version.
