  • My Richard Halley.

  • @krazykillaklowngurl Sorry all i'm a bit late to the game here but, for a start barley is a wheat... and another thing, i'm hoping for you're sake that when you say 'this society' you don't mean the whole of youtube. As youtube includes a diverse and interesting mix of societies and cultures, many of which enjoy the musical stylings of many bands. If your society don't like it; kindly take your, poor, poor spelling and GTFO. other than that, have a pleasant day.

  • I'm not ashamed to say that I danced around to this song while shopping with my earphones on.

  • funeral = greatest album of all time

  • I think her voice is extremely sexy

  • great song

  • Family friends of ours took an eleven year old boy from Haiti under their wing when his house structure collapsed on him in the earthquake, severely damaging his leg. For the past two years he's been in the hospital undergoing numerous surgeries, and wore a leg halo. He's recently gotten the halo removed, and is now walking normally! JP, you are the most high-spirited person I have ever met considering what you've gone through, I will dread the day you go back to your home country. We love you!

  • @Lixeh

Two years? The earthquake was in 2010.

  • too excited for the free show tonight!

  • I get goosebumps when Win starts singing.

  • @MrFreeHuggles so you cant explain your comment then? how is it pointless? the rhythm is G Em, if you could play the guitar you would understand, so explain how my comment was pointless little boy

  • @DL551 those are actually the only two chords, this song is kinda a champion of simple chord structures

  • @MrFreeHuggles the main chords of the song are G Em, thats not all the chords but its the main rhythm, so explain how it was pointless please?

  • @MrFreeHuggles because i wanted to, i didnt know i needed your permission. sorry.

  • @MrFreeHuggles i know.

  • @MrFreeHuggles i know.

  • G Em

  • Musical perfection in one single song.

  • i love this song !!!!!!

  • I dislike the kick, but otherwise, great song. Every so often, this song fits the mood perfectly.

  • @BlackSheepBoPeep i LOVE the kick!!

  • I gotta be honest, their studio stuff is really good, and I can actually understand it unlike their live stuff, I don't know why.

No hating, just pointing it out.

  • @Skydiveseas screw you! makin me look up a word...

  • they have something visceral, yet full of sofistication!!

  • they have something visceral, yet full of sofistication!!

  • First heard of them 5 minutes ago on MTV nHD, awesome band :D

  • Infectious!!

  • Ok I really hate the whole "x number of people don't y", x being people who disliked the video and y being a poor attempt at being funny, but seriously who is the one fucking person who disliked this song? You just had to be a contrarian, didn't you?

  • @Dwaldron89

I disliked it four times so I could get attention from the audience. And it looks it worked!

  • @Dwaldron89 I don't get why people get pissed off at others who don't like a certain song.. maybe it's just not their style of music. Relax people

  • The strength of Arcade Fire is not particularly their immense musical talent, albeit you can argue that their musical talent is only mediocre, but the way all the sounds and all the instruments come together is such an immeasurable feat. They arrange the shit out of these songs, and their performances are insanely captivating to watch. Haiti is maybe their best song yet.

  • @professionalassasin How are their musical talent "mediocre"?

  • @professionalassasin mediocre is a little blunt but i understand what u mean

  • @professionalassasin In order to do what you say requires an immense amount of talent or more people will be doing it

  • @rhcprh Note how I say they don't have an immense amount of "musical talent", not "talent". I meant there to be a big difference between the two phrases when I made that comment.

  • @professionalassasin Sorry if i impied you were calling them talentless because i wasn't trying to. My point was just that if the way they arrange their instruments didn't require a great amount of talent many bands probably would've stumbled onto the formula before them.

  • @rhcprh are you for real mate the more instruments playing together the harder it is to organise and make sound good think before u speak you fool!!!!!!!

  • @danthemanallen89 When did i say it wasn't hard? I was actually saying it was difficult and they have a lot of talent

  • @rhcprh People don't just stumble into a formula like Arcade Fire. It's more than just their talent and lots of instruments that sets them apart.

  • @professionalassasin Yeah, that's how I feel about it too.

  • reminds me of the knife

  • arcade fire greatest fuckin band in the world period!

  • goddamnit, which album first??? theyr all amazing...

  • This song is a masterpiece, although it is NOT about the Earthquake in Haiti, but about the past devastation that happened there.

  • I didn't think it was possible, but I love Arcade Fire even more now

  • this reminds song reminds me of when i went to the island of St. John in the U.S Virgin Islands

  • REGINE IS MY FAVOURITE

  • I think this is my favorite Arcade Fire song, besides Wake Up and Ready To Start.

  • @RoseQuartz100 I love Ready to Start. And Wake Up. Timeless classics. Argue all you want, but Arcade Fire is the best band ever.

  • guys im thinking about buying either funeral or the suburbs. any opinion on which i should get? i know so many of you are gonna say both but whatever

  • @Shmoobaybay29 Eeeh thats a hard one! I'd go with Funeral if i had to choose. I think..

  • @Shmoobaybay29 get Funeral if you just started listening to them, The Suburbs if you've liked them for a while. Funeral came first, so you should start with that, then get The Suburbs!

  • @Shmoobaybay29 both

  • @Shmoobaybay29 Funeral is the best Arcade Fire album. Start with that one, if you haven't bought it yet.

  • glad I gave up Pendulum at Leeds Fest to see this. They were amazing <3

  • @WonderfullyWierd1 gotta love them but pendulum is the best live band in the world.

  • regine chassagne is a really good singer

  • First half of the album (1-5): This is awesome! Fuck yeah this band is amazing

Second half of the album (6-10): OMG ITS LIKE AN ORGASM IN MY EAR. I'M IN LOVE.

  • @GenesisTree I think 1-10 is all orgasmic. Auditory Aphrodisiac, infact

  • I am so impressed with Arcade Fire for donating a dollar from every ticket on their tour this year to support Haiti.

Not only are they genius musically, but they use their talent for good. You just cant get better than that.

  • my opinions says this is their best shit

  • I think I'm in love.

  • must say live is actually way better

  • this song makes me cry

  • This song is so beautiful.

  • i love it when the girl sings

  • such joyful music but very sad lyrics. amazing song

  • This is one of the best all round songs...ever.

  • I like the live version better but this is still just as amazing!

  • Was this song on something? like a commercial or a movie? It sounds so familiar and so does wake up O_o

  • @midocrimsonfate Wake Up was on the "Where the Wild Things Are" promo, not sure about Haiti.

  • @midocrimsonfate it came out on a FIT bmx video a few years ago

  • Arcade Fire are artists in the most pungent form of the word. Every song is a masterpiece.

  • @grayfox622 you 53 people know that pungent means stinky, right?

  • @holdoncaulfield3 No, actually it means a strong taste. Something concentrated and in it's most basic strong sense.

  • @grayfox622 right you are, sir. i guess i just always used it to mean a foul smell. and i've never seen it used in that context. but you're right.

  • @grayfox622 absolutely!

  • chilll song...mMMmmmm

  • R.I.P everyone that died in the earthquake in haiti!!

  • Reminds me of Joe Strummer and The Mascaleros' "Johnny Appleseed.

  • What a wonderful song. Wake Up, Power Out, and Crown of Love aren't bad either.

  • @killkaustic777 uh, understatement of the year..

  • @atyourfuneral716 to which comment? the mascaleros comment?

  • Jamás escuché a la banda y ahora que estoy checando las rolas de su 1er. CD, me pareció genial ésta!
