I don't see how you can say that, Madness took clear influence from Ska classics and covered many in their own unique style including this song, originally by Prince Buster. The Specials had a lot to say on social commentry whilst Madness were more about having fun through pop music but they still had a poetry of their own. Baggy Trousers was a great satire of the time many spent at school. Madness were a big sound and brilliant with it.
