  • fag

  • Sowas schlecht zusammengeschnittenes hab ich selten gesehen.

  • one word gay and your a fag for making us watch that. fuck you broadcastingzzz u r a puss that disrespected the movie!

  • so gay ( not watchmen), just what you did

  • fail

  • jon i hope you get cancer or aids

  • lets see how long world peace balances on a mountain of corpses

  • is there a name to that epic music in the background?

  • This is simply something that cannot be remixed, it should be left the as the beautiful original.

  • at least Rorschach's journal made it through

  • FUCK Dr.manhattan with his large dick

  • Rorschach is the best

  • It was a long, long movie to sort through with it's random, drawn out stories and scene cuts - lack of morality, arrogant superiority, America a land of waste and filth. Rorschach was about the only "hero" that stood out to me: he was the fortress in truth, justice, honor, and didn't f*ck around. Doc Op killing him made for a disgusting ending in my opinion, as lies and deceit win out - basically saying the logic of attaining something good, like world peace, means even sacrificing the truth.

  • i don't know that lies and deceit won out, because if fatso ran that journal, then rorschach wins in the end.

  • Now THAT is a comment. If only EVERYONE was as intellectual as you my friend. ^.^

    Well done. (:

  • No, it's just you and him.

  • Nah.

    You too. (;

  • I don't see lies and deceit winning out. Watchmen is concerned with the shades of gray that we encounter in life. Rorschach ascribed to a black and white view of morality and chose to be uncompromising, even if it meant causing WWIII. The others had to ask themselves, "Was it worth it to sacrifice a million to save billions?" Does the fact that they chose to stay silent make them less good than Rorschach? Or have they chosen to make those deaths worth something for the greater good? :\

  • Taking the lives of millions - who are innocent and unknowing to the causes for their deaths, and have futures on this planet, to save billions - who are withheld the truth and fed a lie that's magically going to make all the world lay down their arms and world peace happens. If world peace is the only thing people are gunning for, "for the greater good", and taking the shortcut of murdering millions for it and killing what truth stands for, it's a sad state of circumstances in my opinion.

  • It's not just world peace that Adrian is trying (actually does) accomplish but rather the removal of the threat of total global annihilation through nuclear war. This is a weakness in the movie that the book illustrates much better. The Soviets invade Afghanistan and begin to move further towards other countries, massing armor in Eastern Europe. Nixon is seen arriving at a bunker. There's just more global tension in the book than the movie. Still well done IMHO though.

  • I could never get around the random jumping and personalities in Watchmen - I'd imagine that for those that enjoy the book and the questions of the movie, such as yourself, it's a blast. For me, it's not my cup of tea - it was awkward enough following the story line, but the ending was revolting. If it's all about "gray area", and putting the axe through the truth and those who believe in it, maybe I'll be in NYC or require a blue man to murder me alongside Rorschach when that day comes.

  • I agree. I believe that when Rorschach removes his mask in the end and tells John to kill him that for the moment he is stepping out of the hero role and becoming "just Walter Kovicks" again. As Rorschach, he is bound by his "no compromise, regardless of the circumstances" belief but when he chooses to suddenly go back to his human identity, he's allowing himself the required latitude to accept Viedt's action as for the greater good.

  • I never did got the chance to express how I think this movie was to me.

To me the movie tells us that, with the world the way it is now... with all the problems, suffering, and their republicans, Democrats and Liberals... even with superheroes, they wouldn't make a difference anymore. There's so much problems now that not even Superheroes can save us. To me, that's sad. We've gotten to the point where can't be saved anymore. It's sucks, but it's kind of true.

  • man thats why this movie is one of my all time best movies....... this movie not for anyone for sure

  • Actually... to tell you all the truth, the only reason why I wanted to see this movie was because Night Owl looked a lot like Bat-Man.

Now everyone, tell me the truth. Do you think 95% movie goers who didn't know anything about the story would of watched the movie if Night Owl didn't look like The Bat-Man?

I know it's uncool for me to say that, but not everyone knows these characters... even me. Night Owl was the only reason I really wanted to watch this movie. Sorry guys, it's the truth.

  • i got you man....but hey he may look like BATMAN but way softer than him.... for me what got my eyes was Rorschach..

  • and that's a fail.

  • You must be a total geek.... Only real geeks use words like "you fail", "noob", etc.... get a life, dude.

  • haha

  • Soooo.... if a Demon appeared in front of you... and you had a weapon in your hand... you would pause, compromise with him, and not kill it? THE DEMON is going to rip your heart out, eat it, and throw you into the depths of hell. WHy? Because it's a Demon and it's mission is to kill human beings. But... you know what.. there is a worse Entity than that.... and that is, The Monsterish Hearts of a Human Being. Rorschach may kill, but he kills those who done crime so bad, it's unforgivable.

  • There are demons that were one angels. These angels fought other angels, brothers that they loved, only so that they could recieve the love that the gave to the very same God that cast them out.

  • But, you see, we're not talking about Angel's or Demon's. we're talking about Rorschach. Yeah, he kills, but so does Wolverine, Punisher, and sometimes Batman.... What makes Rorschach any different? His methods may be... well, unpleasant and unacceptable, but he's a noble Hero who still believes in good... and continues to fight for the side of good... even with having a bad past when he was a kid. Normally, he should of became a villian, but he didn't. Despite all that, he became a HERO.

  • Why did you just say we arent talking about something you brought up. Regardless of which

Rorshac is not noble at all, but a coward. He is an absolutist that sees ONLY good or ONLY evil as opposed to reasons and purposes. The reason he cried in the end was because he was scared. Pure and simple. He couldn't see the clear cut good or evil and it scared him. In short, he took the easy way out.

  • Yes, but out of all of the other characters Rorschach was the only one to stand up and really try to fight for his version of justice. The others simply stepped aside pretended like nothing happened. And thats what really makes him a hero.

  • He was not a hero at all. Not in the literary sense OR according to the definition of a hero. A hero is not someone who does what they think is right, that makes no sense. That means a serial killer who rapes and kills women because he thinks women are evil can be a hero too. The only real hero was the Comedian.

  • Right.... a person who rapes women, fucks little girls from foreign countries and get's them pregnet, then shoots them without a second thought, Shoots our great leaders, hit's girls, kill protesters, and laugh about how a joke this world has become... and the main thing... "does nothing to change it for the better. Yeah, he's a real hero alright.... if you're a bad guy.

  • Yes.and here is why. Would the Vietnam era Comedian have given a damn if Ozzy wanted to kill millions to save the world. Nope. Yet in the beginning of the story he fights Adrian TO THE DEATH despite knowing he didn't have a chance in hell. Rorschach, who claims to believe in justice, burns cops alive. His unilateralism never changes. He cowers behind it and in the end, it consumes him.

  • Why do you guys like the Comedian so much? Is he really the representation of what White Americans are? Savages at heart that can't help but to rape pretty women, kill anything and anyone they want? Is that why you guys like the Comedian so much? It's because he's what you guys really are.... your heart and your soul? No real sense of Justice.... just do whatever the fuck you want?

    "sigh..."

Well, I still think this movies cool... and that Rorschach, Spectre, and Night Owl are the real heroes.

  • Lets get some FACTS down on paper for you so you can get it.

1: I don't like the Comedian nor did I evern say that I did.

2: He represents the "HERO" literary archetype, not white America.

3: I am neither white NOR American

4: Justice, as the movie tries to make VERY clear, is an I-L-L-U-S-I-O-N.

  • Im not saying that you're white. I'm saying that the Comedian seams to represent what White Americans are. Im sorry it came out that way. Yeah, the movie is an illusion, but it is a representation of what some people are in the states. I forgot I was also talking to people from around the world. my bad...

Of course i spoke to some of my friends about this. we came to a conclusion. There are just some fucked up people in the world. and that's just the way it is.

  • You know, you seem kind of racist yourself. Just pointing it out.

  • True... but so is everyone. There's a little racist in everyone out there. but a person shouldn't let that prejudice consume them. We keep it at bay to make sure we don't become the savages and monster.... that was protrayed by the "Comedian".

See... taking something like this... and putting it right back into the movie.

  • Oh, I agree about the comedian, in fact in my opinion all the heroes were not very... heroic when it gets down to it. They all had their reasons for being heroes, and none of them were righteous, or noble reasons. Just the whole insinuation that all of white america are savages irked me. Generalizations of groups of people always gets to me though.

I wouldn't call the comedian evil, just has no moral compass at all. I think the movie said that there is no good or evil, just shades of gray.

  • Finally, another intellegent person i can respond to. Yeah, your right. Now that you point that out.... no one was really a "Good Guy" to say the least... They were always kind of "if" on everything. No one actually stood up and said, "OK, I will take care of this. I will be THE ONE TRUE HERO..." I notice that. There's no strong Spiderman character or Superman character in this movie. Just a bunch of heroes, but with no real guidance. That's what this movie was missing. A real HERO.

  • no spiderman or superman, but there was a batman of sorts, until manhattan blew him to smithereens, then ran like a coward. least adrian stayed behind to possibly face the consequences one day.

  • I think batman was split into 3 characters: the costume (nightowl, he is nothing without it), the stealthy detective (rorschach) and bruce wayne (ozzy, the zenith of human achievement, rich)

  • i find it rather funny that only the zenith of human acheivement could pull of mass murder so flawlessly, but thats a little of subject.

  • When I said "zenith of human achievement" I just meant the way he trained himself to the limit in all aspects mental and physical, like bruce wayne/batman. I don't mean moral zenith like (the theoretical) God or Jesus etc.

The point you make is, on the contrary to your follow-up statement, entirely on-subject, as that was one of the main points of the comic.

  • the zenith of human acheivment doesnt have to include a moral base? not attacking, merely inquiring.

  • Of course it does. As you've correctly said, it's his base. Not his achievement. It's his choice. I made no comment upon his morality, only that he has successfully executed it by his achievement.

  • Missing? That was the mother fucking point of the movie.

  • everyone had their own idea of justice. rorschach's was vengeance for the people that can't avenge themselves for example. the comedian's was a little more vague. manhattan was logic - pure, amoral logic. the end scene is justified in his eyes by the sacrifices made to make a better future. rorschach couldn't let that stand because of his sense of justice, and manhattan had to remove that block. it makes sense, even if it sucked to see him die.

  • The characters were each absurd caricatures of pure (and entirely stupid) schemata of thought. The movie--like its most fervent fans--is much less intelligent than it thinks it is.

  • And you're just some posh wank with no sense of decency at all, go back to fapping over power-girl at Rule34!

  • Haha I can't imagine anybody with a "sense of decency" that subscribes to their own standards would post a comment that critical. Did I really offend you that much?

So what about my comment made me seem like a "posh wank with no sense of decency at all," the fact that I didn't like the movie? Please elaborate.

  • I herd u liek cawk. du u liek cawk? i also herd u hav a smll peniz. ur gurlfrend tuld me so lululul

  • I really have to disagree. Watchmen does something that very few super hero movies and comics do: it forces us to view the world of morality in shades of grey rather than the stark black and white we are accustomed to. Honestly, read the comic. The movie, while very good, misses some of the more important elements of character development. Read it, watch the movie again, and really think about it. There's more to this story than what you see on the surface.

  • Yes, I'd like to think I understood the subtleties of the film (though I can't speak for the book, it's not the type of thing I normally read), from the extensive (and in my opinion rather misused) allusions to the moral ratiocination prompted by it. I can think of better things to read (and movies to watch, for that matter) that deal more aptly with questions of morality. I'd agree that it's more intelligent than other superhero movies though (not like that's saying much...).

  • I have analyzed plenty of novels for several classes, however I didn't think it necessary to go into a complete analysis on YouTube. There isn't much you can do with 500 characters. Personally, I think some of the intelligence of the comic is lost in the movie. There are conversations and characters that were left out (understandably) that are vitally important. Even though you don't normally read graphic novels, I suggest picking up Watchmen. It's a great reading experience.

  • I'll admit that it's been quite a few years since I bought a comic but hearing of this movie and seeing so many reviews of the original book I broke down a got it. I really wanted to read it before I saw the movie and I'm really glad that I did. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. It is easily one of the best storylines I've ever read in comics and is just a fantastic read. Even if it is "just a comic book". :D

  • To better demonstrate what about it makes it so good in your opinion, could you describe / analyze some aspect of it? To simply say, "really think about it" is absurd, when something is truly deep it should be written about, with an opinion promulgated to demonstrate the profundity one has seen in it. It's not like the reasons it's deep compose some arcane knowledge that has to be discovered for oneself (haven't you ever analyzed anything for a class?).

  • a caricature cannot be absurd if the thought it caricatures is stupid, because that is it's point. The more stupid the character, the more finely the point is made.

Unfortunately, Unkehz0r is correct in his assessment, as crass as it was.

I would even say you have shown an intelligence much less than you thought you have, as you have accused the movie.

Don't worry though, I did think the movie "sucked balls" storywise after 30 mins, but was great visually.

  • Yeah, but comedian was in despair once for realizing his actions, also because he couldn't change them, it was just the way he was with no control over it. Look at him in terms of the psychological and philosophical concepts the character of Comedian represents, and not as a person.

  • dchyang"There's a little racist in everyone out there"

    speak for yourself.

Maybe you confuse "race" with "culture"

I hate cultures, in fact the very concept of one.

  • Dude... this arguement was like a long time ago. I don't even care about this nor this movie nor this graphic novel nor these damn superhero rejects anymore... except Night Owl. he was cool.

  • wasn't arguing. just don't speak for ME.

Also I was providing a helpful suggestion.

You can have whatever misguided opinions you like.

  • My Bad. Your 1st line gave me the impression that you were insulting me. Plus, I wasn't speaking to just you. It was a opinion that was to everyone who read it, that in some way or form, human beings dislike something in there lives. See, prejudice can be towards anything... like race, or persons life style, or the way they dress.

Once again, im sorry. I didn't mean to speak for you.

  • COME ON .... the Comedian ..... he raped his team-mate for GODSAKE.

  • Thanos sent his race into near extinction, beat his own father to death and killed half of the living beings in the universe before he joined Infinity Watch.

  • @coolwatter

LOL they're lowering their standards these days aren't they?

  • your a fool 0fluid. rorschach was the most noble character in the movie

  • agree with u freeze131

  • what language is this?

  • wtf have you done

  • Rorschach should have never die !!

He was fair and honest he wanted to tell the truth to the world and his sacrifice save billions of lives

  • The only way this comic could've ended without rorschach dying, would be to change the whole comic altogether. Rorschachs moral is: Never Comprimise. Never agree with anything. and if he told the truth, there would be no sacrifice and billions would've died, not lived. Veidts plan was to kill millions but save billions. If your wondering why he blew up new york too, to avoid the dillema of blaming USA for the attack. Just to clear things up.

  • Rorschac was a fool, it's even stated in the comics that Dr. Manhattan and The comedian are the only two characters that posess any substantial understanding of the world around them. Rorschac not only had it coming, but was an agent of evil at that point in the movie.

  • If you're a religious fellow Mr. Fluid, then perhaps you should realize that Truth is one of the many Hebraic names of God. Yes, it would have ended the world if people knew what was really going on, but Jesus said "My Kingdom is not of this world", moreover in Revelations, "Woe to you of earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath", and the Temptations of Christ, Satan says "The world's Kingdoms are mine to distribute". Rorschach was demented; honesty was his only saving quality.

  • I must continue, and point out that Veidt was infact a very Luciferian character, who 'sought to conquer the evils of men' to better conquer the world. That again is a very Satanic character, if you delved into some Gnostic and Catharist writings you'd understand a little better.

  • Good god!

  • god didnt do it, dr. manhattan said it himself.
