I don't know anyone in KY who teaches or dances it. The closest I know are in St. Louis and Knoxville. Send me a message and I can get you in touch with someone, or alternately there are decent sized events with classes and dances that span two or three day weekends. If you are sure you want to learn immersing yourself in it will get you a lot of info real quick and a chance to put it immediately to use with some of the best dancers in the country.
This is not historially notated...source it as a system you should be able to source it. There is no historical record for a blues dance system. Only that people danced to blues music, duh! But that's late making up an immagamation of videos or print about referances to individuals slow dancing of any era and mashing them together then marketing them as a system. It's disrespectful to the historical record. Evolution is awesome I love it...but don't make up history
Albert Murray used the term in 1971. Mura Dehn used it in 1951. The term Swing Dancing did not collectively refer to all dancing done to Swing music in the 30's either, but by the time West Coast Swing gained popularity it was used to refer to all the descendants of lindy hop including those that were no longer strictly danced to Swing music, or even Jazz.
The dances here are all historically sourced dances done to Blues music, sharing a common aesthetic. You don't have to take my word for it.
You can go to the remaining jook joints, and see some of them still danced today. You can interview the old dancers of the various styles as well as read the books and watch the few film clips and examine the art of the period.
The info is all there, it just takes a little initiative and dedication to find it.
I like dancing, but this is completely ridiculous. There is no talent here.
Just an excuse for the nigger to "get up on" that white pussy. Ridiculous.
Whats worse is they post it for the entire world to see as if there is really some substance here. Just dumb.
History proves we couldnt get the nigger to be smarter, so we dumbed down the white kids to even things out. Those dumb white kids become dumb white adults. This is proof America has become a cesspool.
I've seen this "Blues Dancing" done here in Lexington and Louisville, KY, but no one teaches it at any studio, dance group, or community..
Yet more then a single person seems to know it.. man it's so frustrating getting others to teach you anything :(

I loved Damon and Heidi's videos when I was learning to blues. Still great a year later. :-)
