Not even sure £48k could even pay for 2 years' living costs these days. Especially when one considers the need to be housed with extra facilities and other extra bits (which usually cost a fair amount) to make one's life more manageable. I totally feel for this guy as I know too well how little the British government is willing to help assist people in need, after an injury or such. Britain being so wealthy in Europe yet it's social care system being such a poor response to people in need.
